i hate this show

It's partly because of the distance, and part because well. He did not realise that he had been living with his breath held all this time, until he find a place where he could finally let it go. The party is so supportive and amazing, he knows they love him and would never judge him for anything. But sometimes, it feels like he is either just over-explaining, or dimming down his experiences when they are together to form it into words they will understand.

he's still loves his friends! he really does, they understand an aspect of him more than anyone could. But, it's just a bit difficult for him to be on the same page as them anymore. Because ultimately, there are things that come easy to them. And there are things about queer culture he feels like he cannot share to them without making himself a spectacle they struggle/need patience to understand.

He probably feels bad about it all the time too, for choosing things that he actually wants to do over them. Sometimes he skips out on writing back letters where they ask him about his dating life, because he really does not want to explain the tedious process of finding queer friendly spaces for his dates. He doesn't know how to explain that while "clubs" are just a place to dance for them, for him, it is the one place where he feels most comfortable and loved. He doesn't give as much details about his friends' backgrounds because it's exhausting to explain how each of them have been ostracised by their family. How do you convey that to a bunch of staight kids? they understand being an outcast, but maybe they'll never truly get it. He skips on party reunions on holidays sometimes. Maybe his boyfriend planned a trip to help in California AIDS protests. Maybe the queer art exhibit he had been dying to see, just finally got accepted to showcase after 100 setbacks from the city.

“So. When did you realize you were the sun?” Mike had asked, and Will had known this had more to do than just resonating with a celestial body.

“I didn’t necessarily realize. I just…” Will had looked at him knowingly, and Mike, eyes dawning with realization, had nodded.

“Decided to jump and happened to meet some stars along the way, and they knew who you were the whole time.” Mike had finished, and Will nodded.
