What's wrong with your plants?
This has helped me pinpoint whatβs wrong with some of my plants incredibly easily! For those who donβt have the greenest thumbs ππ
Symptom:Β Long, pale leaves; small new leaves
Cause:Β Not enough light; too much nitrogen
Cure:Β Give plant more light; reduce fertilizerΒ frequency
Symptom:Β Leaves curl under or have yellow or brown spots
Cause:Β Too much light
Cure:Β Move plant away from light source, or shade plant with blinds or sheerΒ curtain
Symptom:Β Mushy stems; lower leaves curl and wilt
Cause:Β Too much water
Cure:Β Water only when soil is dry to touch; make sure drain hole is notΒ clogged
Symptom:Β Leaf tips are brown and leaves wilt
Cause:Β Not enough water
Cure:Β Soak pot for 20 minutes in water and let drain; water when soil is dry toΒ touch
Symptom:Β Leaf edges are crinkly and brown
Cause:Β lack of humidity
Cure:Β Mist leaves, or place pot on tray of moistΒ pebbles
Symptom:Β Lower leaves turn pale and drop off
Cause:Β Lack of fertilizer
Cure:Β Fertilize plant regularly during growingΒ season
Symptom:Β Leaves turn yellow or curl and wilt
Cause:Β Too much heat
Cure:Β Move plant to cooler spot in house; be sure plant is not close to heat vent or on top ofΒ TV
Symptom:Β Plant wilts between waterings; roots growing out of drainage hole
Cause:Β Pot too small
Cure:Β Repot plant into a container one size larger
