âReally?â He looks at Benny with wide eyes. âYour school allowed a werewolf to apply? Thatâs so cool! Iâve never been anywhere that was that relaxed about werewolves.â Props to Bennyâs high school, Lukas couldnât imagine such a thing.
He wondered how much supernatural stuff this town got. âIâve seen quite a few things,â he answers, meaning that he probably would believe whatever theyâd seen. âDo they all attend your high school? Is it like a mixed-race school or something?â
Lukas closed the fridge door. He wouldnât make a mess, he wasnât completely without manners after all. Even if Benny hadnât caught him, he wouldnât have made a mess before leaving. He was a pretty clean wolf. âBut when you stick it in the freezer it gets a freezer burn taste to it.â
Opening up the freezer, Lukas peers in to see whatâs inside. He figured heâd repay the kindness of not letting the hunters get him by bringing Bennyâs family a deer later that week. Plus then he could replace whatever he ended up eating. Reaching in, he pulls out the pre-packaged frozen meat and stares at it for a moment. He guessed he could eat it frozenâŚ. Though warm and fresh was always better.
âTell me more about this school of yours that so accepting of non human races.â
âThey didnât actually know he was a werewolf.â Yeah, as much as Benny wanted to give this guy good news about an accepting and tolerant school that allowed for supernatural applications on the daily... They werenât exactly there yet. And yet, so many supernatural beings did go to Bennyâs school. From the werewolf to multiple vampires. Ghosts and a siren.
Benny continued to watch Lukas with unabashed interest. The guy was pretty polite, so that was something. Was it too early to say he liked him, because he definitely liked him. He wasnât giving off any of those usual âbad guyâ vibes. âI wish I could say I went to like an official mixed-race school like that, but uh... no, Iâm sorry, man. But there are a ton of supernatural things going down in this town. Itâs not a bad place to be. Well, other than the vampires. And even then its only certain vampires.â
