Heeeeeey I'm sorry but I was curious if anyone had advice for an introverted transboy with some social anxieties on how to make friends possibly with other transboys (or just people in general really)?
One great way I overcame my social anxiety was actually forcing myself to go out and be social! I would make myself go to networking/work events, where I knew I’d have to talk to people even when I was awkward, and that helped. I also talked pretty much everything, every situation, through with my therapist and she helped me come up with ways to reduce my anxiety before the social event. 9/10 times my anxiety would diminish significantly, or even disappear, once I got in the event and started talking to people.
I know that won’t work for everyone, though! Brothers, any other ideas?

I haven’t posted much lately because my mental health has been shit. But today I feel a bit better
i think the combination of being sick with a cough, exercising more frequently, and binding the way i always have has given me a chest injury that i’m not sure the severity of just yet, i just emailed my doctor and am waiting to hear back about what’s up, but something tells me i’m not going to be allowed to bind for a while. if you can spare literally even a dollar towards my top surgery fund in the meantime i would be incredibly grateful. i think i’ll probably be having surgery in march based on my schedule next year, but that’s only assuming i raise all of the money by then. i really don’t want to have to wait longer for this procedure than already necessary because of not having enough money. i’m really not trying to fuck my chest up permanently. please help if you can.

Hey I hope it's okay if I ask for advice but I'm a transdude not out to my family and one of my best friends since childhood is a transdude too, he's out to most of his close family. Well thing is I asked him permission to tell my parents about him being trans because I wanted him to be more comfortable around them and be referred to by his proper pronouns and despite their political and religious beliefs my parents are fairly open minded and accepted their nephew who was a post-op transman. 1/2
So I tell them and instead of understanding they just replied with something along the lines of "your friend is not a man because he doesn't act like a transgendered man". Now whenever I refer to my friend as a man my dad just grins jokingly and says "there was no man here, just your friend." My friend is a very understanding dude and didn't seem upset with them not taking him seriously. I feel really bad, I didn't defend my friend like I should've because I'm not one for confrontation and every argument with my family seems like a lost cause, they're all stubborn. I just wanted to know what I could maybe do to make it up to my friend.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••First of all, I think it's really sweet that even though your friend wasn't offended you're still aware of how he could have felt/reacted/etc. Second, the fact that you care so much is very likely enough for your friend! You clearly love and support him and that's really all we want in life. If you feel safe and comfortable, you could talk to your parents about why their comments are inappropriate, offensive and all around rude. The more open and compassionate you are with them, the more they'll be apt to hear you. That said, talking to them once, twice, even 100 times doesn't guarantee or even imply a change. If nothing else, a conversation makes them think about their actions but we can't change others' views and beliefs. Hope this helps but feel free to continue reaching out to us for more help!
