“828: Ride Or Die”

“Did I do that right?”

the event occurred while on family vacation. we went and stayed with my mom's cousin at a beach house. this beach house was equipped cable television (something we did not have at home). one afternoon me and my younger sister were surfing the tv channels (without adult supervision) and we found something entertaining (i think it was an old black and white tv show. maybe the rifle man? i don't really remember) but ANYWAY. that show ended and the next show started. curiosity got the better of us and we did not change the channel. the episode in question began with a wine tasting. we remained curious right up until a partially disintegrated finger was pulled out of a wine glass, and then we noped out real hard and real fast and were immensely Disturbed. (we thought we had accidentally stumbled into the beginning of a horror movie and wanted no part in it). then we swore that we would never speak of it and never tell the grown ups. we were borderline traumatized. i wouldn't drink liquids that weren't clear (or milk) for MONTHS.

i decided to block it out of my memory and pretend it never happened. a couple years went by and my sister brought it up for the first time since the event transpired (neither of us had forgotten about it) but i wanted to forget about it, so i pretended i had no idea what she was talking about and gaslit her into believing she dreamed the whole thing. i even managed to somewhat gaslight myself into believing it never actually happened.
