Super Motherload Full PC Release is now live on Steam!

From a successful Greenlight campaign to Early Access just under two months ago, we've steamrolled through to the finish line to make Super Motherload available as a full release on the Steam Store!

Thank you to everyone that has helped bring this game to a reality on the PC. We've had so much help over the past couple of months to get all of the major kinks sorted out and it's because of your dedication and enthusiasm that we are able to release the full game today! So thanks, eh!

Super Motherload is the result of challenging our studio to create a fully polished experience at a scale we’ve never attempted. That level of polish has allowed us to reach platforms we’ve never had the opportunity to publish on before.

Super Motherload is now available on PS3™!

We are now out on both the PS3™ and PS4™ in North America for $14.99! Super Motherload is participating in the Cross-Buy program, so If you purchase Super Motherload for PS3™ you're entitled to the PS4™ version if you ever choose to upgrade your console. 

These next two weeks are going to be busy with the launch of Super Motherload on the PS4™ in Europe on Friday (November 29th) and the PS3™ in Europe on December 4th. So, in celebration, we are inviting Super Motherload fans to create their own underground puzzles and features and enter them into our Super Motherload puzzle contest. It’s a chance for you to demonstrate your puzzle creation skills to the world by showing your creative take on the explosive-based puzzles in Super Motherload.

We will award prizes for the best puzzles created by the community, and winning puzzles will also appear in a future update to the game. We can’t wait to see what the community comes up with and we anticipate this will add an incredible variety of puzzle styles and unique techniques we may not have thought of if left to our own devices.

Happy Launch Week!  It’s been a week full of great surprises for us.

First off, Super Motherload currently has the highest user score of all PS4 games on Metacritic!  Wow; we're really glad that that you’re enjoying the game so much, and we’re completely blown away by your response.

Probably the week’s biggest surprise was seeing Super Motherload as the subject of the Penny Arcade comic strip today, alongside a mention in the PA blog today by Jerry Holkins (Tycho).  This is pretty much a dream come true for all of us.

And on that note, we are today announcing the release date for the PS3 version of Super Motherload!

Super Motherload will be available for PS3 on November 26 in America and November 27th in Europe.  In addition, the PS4 version of Super Motherload will be arriving in Asia alongside the launch of the PS4 on December 17th.

The full soundtrack for Super Motherload is now available for pre-order for just $9, and will be available for download at midnight tonight—the same time Super Motherload launches with the PS4! The press has already shown an overwhelming appreciation for the soundtrack, composed by indie electronic artist Eric Cheng, as one of the highlights of the PS4 launch. Super Motherload will cost just $14.99 (USD)! Super Motherload will be available for PS4™ on the PlayStation®Store in the US on November 15th and in Europe on November 29th.

There are a few special features we'd like to detail about the PS4™ version of Super Motherload. The new touch pad on the DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller gives the player the most efficient way of using bombs on obstacles and puzzles on Mars. Instead of selecting a bomb by cycling through your items with the L1 and R1 buttons, you can get direct access to a specific shaped bomb for the job by swiping: up, down, left or right for the most basic bomb types, or by clicking the touch pad button to use an Electron Bomb. This small addition to the game really streamlined gameplay. Once you've memorized the direction to swipe for the bomb types, it becomes second nature to use. When we were testing out the feature in the office, it was funny to watch coworkers who hadn't yet broken their L1 and R1 button habits face off against those that had already mastered the use of the touch pad. While the button cyclers were doing their thing, the touch pad elite had already busted through the obstacle for the prize.   

Another simple but effective feature is the light bar. It's a pretty modest addition to the controller, but it is really useful when playing co-op with your friends. The color of the light bar changes to match the color of the character's pod that you've selected, making it easy to spot your controller when you've come back to a paused game and which characters your friends are playing.
