all right squad, now lets talk about fumito. it’s important to note that fumito makes dolls for collectors...!! although he can make the more popular, standard BJD, the majority of his customers (as most of his dolls are custom made, with only a selection of premade ones up on his website at any give time) request for fumito to do a doll style that’s become immediately attributable to him. It appears to be a super signature mix of the more modern BJD, French 19th century dolls (these are what you’d consider “creepy porcelain dolls”), and ichimatsu dolls! I swear ill doodle this soon rip.

his dolls are also known for being notoriously expensive! As he’s gained popularity, and works primarily on custom work, it’s become somewhat difficult to get a doll from his website? so he’s become a real treasured creator for doll collectors. most of his customers are european, but a good chunk are in Japan!!

your character would only know him if they’re into that doll collecting scene, or are into that aesthetic tbh. although maybe a couple of rich kids have gotten their hands on his work, he prides himself deeply on being a collectors dollmaker and is quick to get insulted if you say that he makes barbies or smth
