one minute, everything had been fine. castiel and him had been sitting on the couch in the bunker, watching one of dean's many must-see movie recommendations, a feeling of safety wrapped around him, when─

eyes widened in surprise and pain as hands suddenly flew up to each side of his head with a scream leaving his lips, muscles tensing through his entire body, making him curl up. his entire head felt like it was about to explode from the impossibly loud sound that ─ when he tried to cover his ears to muffle it even if just a little ─ he realized didn't come from outside, but from within.

any and all thoughts he could've had, was drowned out by agony so strong that it blackened his vision, made it impossible to focus on anything. he wanted to reach out to castiel, to tell him what was wrong, but found it impossible to form any words.

then the sound abruptly stopped, and he thought maybe, maybe it was over. but then he heard a voice coming from somewhere deep inside his ear. ' homelander. ' he knew that voice. ' listen carefully. i just gave you a taste of what will be the rest of your life, if you don't do exactly as i say. we need you to come home. and we need you to bring your new friend with you. understand? '

" no...! " john sobbed between tears that had formed in his eyes, shaking his head to himself. he tried to stand up when the noise drilled through his skull again, causing him to drop to the floor, screaming. ' this is not up for debate. ' the voice was barely heard through the chaos.

i just need some au where while he was still a child, vought installed some kinda sound device inside homie's ear that blasts such loud sound that it severely hurts him, in order to be able to control him if he ever steps out of line...... and maybe someone discovers this and gets their hand on a device that controls that, so they can use it on him for whatever purposes they want (good or nefarious) 😈
