He's always concerned with the wellbeing of his friends, but he's also the one to take the first move whenever there's danger around, putting himself squarely between the threat and his friends, whether it's standing up to the military trying to blow Eren and Mikasa up or to the rifles of the Marleyan military even without his titan powers
