I just wanna say that it doesn't matter if you think your work sucks. It brings comfort to many people like me.

Like seriously, you don't understand how much it matters to me that i get to speak with you in the comments, that i get to read the very innards of your soul (smut also counts, okie?)

I can't even begin to explain how comforted i have felt reading a fanfic that had the worst possible grammatical errors, just because i got to read something on my favourite characters. Just because it connected me to another human who i otherwise would not have reached. Just because i get to read this and think that you are also alive, you are also existing, you are also very much a person.

I have been giving entrance exams recently and if anyone asked me what held my prep together, it's fanfiction. And i just realized that none of the writers whose work i have read know about this.

Which got me thinking about how many writers across fandoms wouldn't know about this. How many writers go to sleep thinking they fucked up, that they suck, that their work isn't worth it in front of whatever Shakespearen standard they have set for themselves. How many of them would never know that i literally squeal everytime i get a reply from them, that i smile everytime they update.

Please know, that there are a lot of people like me. A lot of them can't reach you, maybe because they are shy or maybe because they don't have the means to.

On behalf of them all, i would like to say - thank you. You guys are the glue that holds fandoms together, your headcannons put us to sleep at night, your dialogues give us the courage to speak up, your silliness in the author's notes make us smile.
