in general i hate how people talk about the plot/story/lore of dsmp in retrospect. even ex-fans act like it was embarrassing and cringe to ever like it. there's this common take i see that's like, "it was only good because of what the fics and fanart and animatics made it." and while i do agree it never would've reached the heights it did without the fanbase, people were able to make such compelling works in the first place because the source material was... good? it was literally good guys. you're allowed to think it was good.
