She chewed on her cheek, the truth beneath her fingers, through the thick fog in the mountain pass.

She knew Tidus kept things from her–and she knew Auron did, as well. And honestly, half of her knew from the start, since she met the strange boy from the dead city, and his strange uncle.

“Does he know?” She asked him. Does he know you’re unsent?

He gets the particular attention to be healed. Their last battle with Seymour had him punched on the business end of a nasty lance. It would have killed anyone and it didn’t kill him. Most of the others were not on the side to see the entire weapon puncture through. Yuna was. He was caught like a fool stealing fruit out of an orchard. 

Auron says nothing to it at first, his coat slung down to show off the dent in his armor and the gaping hole that tore through his left side. It’s old. It’s ten years old and it’s not sealed yet, just cold. She isn’t going to be able to heal it and he’s not interested in having it healed. The new puncture is more pressing.

“Don’t know.”

He’s pretty sure Tidus always knew. Ten years of non-answers to simple questions isn’t a subtle approach to anything. Yuna knowing? He preferred if she didn’t. She worries.
