Hermes is a Deity traversing across two realms, and a snake is an ancient symbol indicating the crossing of worlds, thus, every area in which reciprocal exchange of gifts, services, and communicative acts is done, is his sphere of influence.

"Hestia, in the high dwellings of all, both deathless gods and men who walk on earth, you have gained an everlasting abode and highest honor: glorious is your portion and your right. For without you mortals hold no banquet, —where one does not duly pour sweet wine in offering to Hestia both first and last. So many who claim to follow Her. But She knows who Her Hunters are. After all; She chose them.
