have you ever been back at the mall? i remember lyon saying you visited during the winter solstice. was there anything about it you enjoyed?
Oui, I have. My visit was only short one, but there were many things to enjoy about it. I could say I will try to keep my recounting brief, but we all know that would be a hopeless endeavour. Hah !
Premièrement: the people of Höllvania - at least those at the mall - were a privilege to meet. It was clear immediately that they are un peuple résilient et débrouillard, with incredible strength of spirit. Though it pains me to see their suffering, so too was I warmed by how they have banded together in their time of hardship. Being around them, speaking with them, I was reminded of my time in the streets of the Cité de la Lumière.
Which brings me to the subject of Höllvania herself. In my own time I heard much of her beauty and rich history. I have not yet been able to see it for myself, save the mall - which will have to be rectified !
But her winters are harsh for my tastes, and I hope to return when the weather is warmer, and getting about a bit easier. From what I gather, she holds many wonders still to marvel at, and a great number of heathens to expel from her streets.
And I would be remiss, I think, not to see for myself the cost of Dimanche's interference.
Of course, it would be a mistake not to mention my fellow « proto-frames ». I must be brief here, or I will be typing away all day ! Their compagnie was most enjoyable, though I have not spent very long with all of them. Another thing I hope to fix soon !
After our service, I may have spent a bit more time than was fair with Monsieur Beckett. Given Lyon's fondness for him, I hardly think I can be blamed ! And I do think I understand. His énergie is quite infectious ! Of course that meant I was also spending time with Monsieur Nightingale, who was very pleasant, if a bit reserved. I am accustomed to that kind of person, ha ! So I did not find it an issue at all.
I should like to get to know them all a bit more. That Mademoiselle Nightingale is awfully incisive, non ? It is hard not to be charmed by such wit.
Ah ! There I am again, with my long-windedness ! Forgive me. I will end this here !
