I have a headcanon that Solar sh'd a lot starting in his dimension for stress relief, having no other outlet. 

I remember in the show, that even after he started living in the main dimension he didn't have any hobbies or things to do outside of working. 

I do wish Solar's past got more explored on the show, but I imagine his dimension was a lot more hellish than the glimpses we got…losing his Sun, working 24/7, being abused by his Moon. To be berated and looked down on every day. How in the world could Solar not have self-esteem issues?? And Moon could try to kill him any second. He has to be perfect (which I imagine is a mindset that he carried on for a while)

Sh, he could control his own pain, satisfy his self-hatred by ‘punishing himself’, and focus on the physical pain instead of everything else going on for once. And all this, without causing any disturbances! Maybe he soldered the damage on his casing by himself. Ouch. 

And ohhh how he tried to make himself smaller or disregard himself because of his low self-esteem. It was really nice to see him slowly gain confidence with the help of the family, but especially Earth and NMoon. My hc is that he only told Earth about his sh habit, and even that took a lot of time to confess (understandably). Aughh I just. V1 Solar is so precious to me 😔
