don’t impress, express!

Okay this took me 9 years cuz I had to organize my photos

it’s here. it has arrived. it happened about 5 hours ago, actually, but this post is better late than never, i guess. i’m glad i can express my thoughts fully here because twitter is annoying. the video is heartwrenching, the music is otherwordly, and the mydays are again drowning in admiration for the boys. all 5 of them, not just even of day, because we know that they all contributed to the story and beauty behind this album. 

like many other mydays out there, i can’t express my gratitude enough. i have to say that i’m not among those who rely on day6′s music to heal themselves mentally, but i certainly appreciate them ever the more because they serve their fans so deeply–i’m not quite sure how to put it. the level at which mydays connect with their music is something i frankly don’t think can be seen anywhere else, at least in the kpop community (please don’t get offended, it’s just my take). 

so far, what i’m getting from the album is that they’ve strayed from the “lovers” concept that they explored in the previous 3 tbou albums to create a story about themselves as a group, which i’m (and i’m sure a lot of other mydays are) all for. to me, it illustrates a journey from their debut to where they are now, and in the future. something about having cartoon animals play the band members in the music video added all the more meaning to the story. it might’ve been because i was eating spicy ramen, but there were so many tears when i watched the video. so many damn tears. i feel like even without the lyrics, you can tell what the song is about. baby, i want you to stay with me, dont leave me. i need you, you need me. it really tugs at your heartstrings. the way young k and wonpil sing, too. the harmony right before the last chorus is out of this world, no pun intended ;). 

there’s so much about the album that i can’t express in words other than what i’ve said already. saying it’s beauty is an understatement. to put it in “modern” terms, it hits different. but i don’t think that’s a fully appropriate way to describe it, either. i’m want to say more stuff on the other songs of the album, but my fingers are tired, and i need to look at the lyrics.  also, one final thanks to day6 for this masterpiece. <3 time to get streaming :)
