my mother taught me to fold my hands as I lay down for bed and whisper what I was thankful for..

as I got older my mothers prayers got shorter and quieter until one day they just stopped. until her heart was silenced with the thoughts of giving up.

she wasn’t thankful anymore.

when I was young my mother taught me to pray. she said it was the way we talked to God and thanked him for things in our lives

I pray for my mother to pray everyday so that she can find hope again. so she never gives up. I pray because I’m thankful for my mother.

at work I called out his coffee order and he was like “that’s not how women usually call out my name ;) ;) ;)” so I just blinked and said “I’ll try to sound more disappointed next time then” then walked away
