Its pouring outside. It's night.
You're lying in bed, curled up in your cozy and warm blankets and duvets. Your face is turned to the window; the curtains are parted, giving you a front-seat view of the rain and the roads below. A car passes; a streetlight flickers as raindrops draw long, almost glowing streaks on the glass of your window.
You feel a hand caress over your covered side, turning your head to look over your shoulder; you're met with a face of awe at the rain outside. Prologue looks like he's never seen rain; maybe he hasn't, or maybe he doesn't remember. Epilogue looks like he wishes to jump out of bed, get outside and chase the raindrops and... Maybe the cars like that one time.
The hand, which is not the clawed hand, thankfully caresses the fabrics covering you. You had told the boys multiple times it's okay to hold onto your bare skin with their hands. But they still hesitate, even after years of built trust. You hum a bit to get their attention. Their eyes shift from the rain to you, illuminated now by reds and yellows. They both smile softly, and you can't help yourself, so you smile back.
"Can't sleep?" Epilogue's voice almost startles you, but the softness of it helps to calm that springy nerve you have for sudden noises. "Something like that." You whisper back, a smaller smile on your lips than before. Epilogue lets out a hum as he leans their faceplate down to your human faceplate; they lovingly call it that. They both stare into your eyes, and you stare back. "Do you need to be tired out?" Prologue asks, a wicked grin appearing on both sides of their face in the low light. You roll your eyes; you roll them hard. "Get off me, you freaks." You say with an airy laugh covering your tone. Prologue chuckles as your hand comes up from under the covers to push at their chest, but of course they do not move. Obviously, "We can tell you a story maybe? Moonie needs the practice anyway." Prologue says with a tilt of their head. "What? I need practice?" Epilogue rasps, quietly to himself as if he couldn't understand where Prologue got that audacity from. You laugh a little harder as you turn over and face them "No, it's okay. I will sleep soon. I just like hearing the rain is all." You give them a toothy grin, and they smile back. "I see," Prologue replies before lying down again instead of hovering over you. "Then we shall lie here and listen to the rain till you fall asleep, our star." You love when Prologue gets this soft. "I guess we shall." You say, then scoot closer and cuddle into their chest, your ear pressed against the soft silicone. You could hear Epilogue purring and the machinery working in there.
You feel them turn slightly so they can have both arms around you. You feel a press of their grin on the top of your head. "We love you, little star," Epilogue says as Prologue hums in agreement.
"And I love you two. Sunny and Moonie." You say, a gentle smile on your lips as your eyes close and the rain outside continues, but you're here in a warm bed with the two most loving bots, safe and sound.
