playing the “i thought he was you” prank on the miyas

eris’ notes: please i had twin friends in highschool who used to do this shit with their boyfriends to get back at each other all the time and it was so fuckin funny

MIYA OSAMU
you and atsumu became best friends the instant you and osamu got together, much to the latter’s dismay. your boyfriend wanted someone to tease atsumu with, not another person to tease him!
nevertheless, these are the cards he was dealt, so instead of griping about it, he’s learned he just needs to stay on his toes.
you and atsumu devise the plan for your prank on a sunday, the day atsumu always comes over for dinner at your and osamu’s apartment. he would come wearing a beanie to cover his hair, to help play it up. to make it even more believable, he’d wear one of the old onigiri miya shirts he stole from his brother.
thus, the plan ensues. you offer to pick up some drinks for dinner, ushering atsumu to hurry over to yours and osamu’s apartment. so as soon as you walk in, it’s perfect timing—osamu is disappeared off somewhere down the hall so you shut the door and fight your snickers when you see atsumu.
“baby, i’m home!” you call out, because that’s what you always do after returning to let your boyfriend know you’ve made it back. and the sound of footsteps coming down the hall makes you rush up to your lover’s twin.
osamu walks in at just the right time to see you jump into atsumu’s arms, the two of you angling your faces just so so that it looks as if you’re kissing, and you nearly snort when you hear your boyfriend’s bafflement.
“sweetheart, h—what the fuck?” he asks, slamming his phone onto the kitchen counter.
quickly, atsumu puts you down, beaming at his brother as he rubs the back of his head sheepishly—the same act he always does when osamu catches him doing something he shouldn’t. and honestly, his acting skills are so much better than you thought they were.
“oh my god, samu it’s not what it looks like,” you fake stammer, quickly walking up to your boyfriend, reaching for his hand.
you have to bite the inside of your cheek to keep yourself from laughing when he snatches his hand back, glaring between you and his twin. “really? cause it looked like ya were shovin’ yer tongue down tsumu’s throat.”
“no no baby it’s a misunderstanding! i thought he was you! i’d never kiss tsumu, i swear!”
as the words leave your mouth, your hands finally managing to grab onto your boyfriend’s, you can literally see the gears turn behind osamu’s eyes. and you know instantly that he’s already figured it out, because of course it did.
“i literally hate you both,” he huffs, yanking his arms back only to cross them over his chest, a pout puckering out his lips.
yours and atsumu’s laughter breaks through now, and you step forward to wrap your arms around your boyfriend’s neck and pull him down to kiss him. you grin as you see the blush dust his cheeks when you pull away.
“haha gotcha, samu,” you grin, scrunching your nose at him teasingly, smiling wider as the blond behind you joins your jabs.
pranks never really seem to work well on him, but you have to admit the initial reaction is always quite funny, even if he catches on two seconds later. what isn’t funny is how he makes you and atsumu do the dishes after dinner as a way to make up to him.
MIYA ATSUMU
pranking atsumu is so easy because he’s so insanely gullible. he claims he’s not, and he’s actually really good at pulling off pranks himself!
but he’s such a sucker for them when it’s the other way around.
it’s a friday, one of the busiest days at onigiri miya, and the day you and your sweet boyfriend always go to help his twin out with the clean up after the weekend dinner rush. you and samu have already texted before hand and devised your little rouse.
so it all falls into play when you tell tsumu to go ahead and get to the shop without him because you have to pick up some more cleaning supplies along the way.
when you get there, osamu is washing dishes as you pop head in the back door and whistle at him. he looks to you, then that sneaky little smirk stretches his lips and he jerks his head in the direction of your boyfriend, who’s standing on the other side of the kitchen.
you walk in with bags of cleaning supplies in hand—cause osamu really did need them and it was convenient timing—and drop them on the counter, sighing dramatically and making a beeline for osamu, who’s wearing his miya msby hoodie with the hood up. which really only plays up the believable factor even more.
“oh tsumu, the line was so long. i’m so tired,” you yawn, wrapping your arms around osamu’s waist.
there’s a clatter on the other side of the kitchen, a tiny gasp from your boyfriend. “a-angel, what the hell are ya doin’?”
you instantly pull back from osamu, the two of you turning around to face the blond. and seriously, the look on his face is priceless—all wide eyed and mouth agape. you have to bite your tongue to keep from ruining your cover by laughing.
“tsumu i—i thought he was you!” you reason, making your way across the kitchen to him.
“ya—ya thought samu was me?!” atsumu gapes, as if that’s somehow more offensive than the fact that you were just all over his brother. “but he’s way uglier, yn! are ya serious? ya thought he was me?!”
apparently to him, it is more offensive.
“hey, fuck ya! yer the ugly one tsumu!” osamu yells from behind you, dropping the prank act in favor of picking a fight with his brother. and atsumu gives in much too quickly, already brushing past you.
“yer the ugly one! that’s why all the girls liked me in high school!” tsumu snaps back, getting right in his brother’s face.
how playing pranks on atsumu always ends up in another one of the twins’ knock down drag outs, you’re not entirely sure. but it’s usually always far more entertaining watching a fist fight at midnight in the back of onigiri miya than playing the prank anyways.
hmm, probably walking around hand in hand late at night dates, or thunderstorm cuddle dates sksksk, oooooooh and museum dates and STARGAZING DATES. love those uwu

he was completely engrossed in the volleyball match, eyes trained on the movement of the athletes on the tv. his arms were crossed as you slid your hands around his waist. you lift his arm over your should as you snuggled into his chest, inhaling the fabric softener, and him. an index finger gently prodding his hoodie, tracing small circles on his skin under it.
he cocked his head a little in question, “need cuddles,” you mumble, burrowing further into his embrace, “have i told you how pretty you are tsumu?”
“i know i am,” a goofy grin on his face. “you’re such a loser sometimes.” you squeeze his cheeks in your hand.
“baby, need the remote,” he whispered into your ear, trying to pry open the death hold you had on his waist, as you shook your head and pouted.
“need cuddles tsumu.”
ushijima wakatoshi
he tried to put his running shoes on as you desperately clung to his arm. “please toshi? just five minutes of cuddling, i need this,” you pouted, “please, it’s a sunday, one day won’t hurt, you’re athletic enough,” still met with no response, “and you’re totally the hottest guy on the team,” you add.
ushijima was not typically swayed by compliments but that seemed to have pleased him. he smiled a little before undoing his laces, looking to see your arms stretched wide, staring at him expectantly. he crouched to your height, allowing you to slip your arms around his neck as he scooped you up, carrying you back to bed for a 5 minute cuddle session.
"you said 5 minutes yn, it’s been an hour and a half,” he said, as you spooned him, arms wrapped around his torso, cuddling him as if he were a big teddy bear.
“i know toshi but you’re so warm,” you protest, “i guess i could just do the a few more laps in the evening,” he smiled.
“i love you toshi, you’re too precious,” you gave him a peck on the cheek.

“tsurō, you promised you would stop at 11, it’s 1am babe,” you yawned, standing by the door, rubbing your eyes.
“i know baby, i’m almost done.” he said, eyebrows furrowed at the documents on his laptop as you wrap your arms around him from behind. “alright then,” you said unmoving.

oikawa always told you to wake him up if there was ever something wrong, so he’s accustomed himself to being a light sleeper. a few whispers of his name and a light kiss to his jaw is all it takes to cause his sleepy eyes to flutter open. his arms wrap around you, enticing you to move into the warmth of his chest. his “what’s the matter?” is muffled into the top of your head as he squishes his cheek against it. “tōru you still love me, don’t you?” his body tenses up for a moment, and you can’t see him but you just know he’s making that face. “still? i don’t remember ever stopping.” the chuckle that escapes his lips reverberates through your bones, his mouth still pressed up against your head. “that’s all sweetheart? you woke me up for that?” you let out a small yes as he finally presses a kiss to the crown of your head. “i think you’re spending too much time around me.”
atsumu sleeps like it’s the last time he will ever have the chance to. he’s laying next to you with slightly parted lips as a small dark patch forms on the pillow beneath his mouth. you prop yourself up onto an elbow as you gently shake his shoulder, gradually becoming more aggressive as he continues to sleep. you try to stifle a laugh as you slide your finger into his conveniently open mouth as a last ditch effort, causing him to jerk forward and have your finger hit the back of his throat. he shoots upright as his eyes widen at you, a look of pure shock spread across his face. “do you still love me tsumu?” his mouth hangs open as he sputters out his words, “baby you — you just tried to kill me in my sleep!” he tackles you back down as he peppers kisses all over your face and neck, a blend of both your laughter filling the room. “course i love ya, even if you belong behind bars.”
suna isn’t that deep of a sleeper, but he cherishes his sleep, so waking him up is always a dangerous game. you bring your hand up to his cheek, resting it there as you slowly run your fingers over his skin, coaxing his eyes open. he blinks lazily as he scans your face, “yea?” his voice is flat, a clear disinterest in his tone. a ping of guilt shoots through your body, but it’s too late to turn back. “do you still love me rin?” “mhm, unfortunately.” it’s dark, and you’re barely able to make out his features, but you can hear the smallest hint of a smile in his voice, which is enough for you. content, you turn your back to him. but then you feel it, his breath on the back of your neck as he inches himself closer to you. he places his arm over your body, resting his hand on your stomach. “hey, i mean it. i love you, okay? just love you a little more during the day.”
