two lost lovers found each other in the rain

note : hi ^^ this is my first time posting something that i wrote. English is not my first language so please let me know where i made mistakes. :) 

     The rain is falling strongly on the cold ground while her steps are sounding as a powerless echo. Her clothes are one with the raindrops which started to come down by more than twenty minutes. Even she saw that black cloak in the far of the city's town it did not stop her from walking until to her apartment. Today she is not rushing anywhere. Not even the realization that she did not have an umbrella did not stop her. Evelyn likes the rain. Sometimes she feels that once with the raindrops falling, in some way the weights on her shoulder are falling too. This is how she is feeling today. Evelyn carries in her heart a good pain. That kind of pain which makes you realize that even if now it hurt you, in the end, maybe, things will get better. The people around her are making big steps trying to get away from the rain as soon as possible not paying any attention to her. Leaves in a mixture of autumn colors are giving up on making any effort in spending more time on the tree's branches and flowers bend slowly on the ground, letting the raindrops to win this time. Everything looks lifeless but she knows that autumn and winter are there as a reminder for the nature to take a break and heal, just like Evelyn. Eve knows that she needs a break and to start over. To take her time for healing even if it may be needed more than two seasons. She should have taken the faster way to her apartment, not the longer one; from Glow Cafe to Mrs. Marley's Flower Shop then turning right to Shadow Park and a few more meters until she arrived at her door. Children's giggling are making her stop for a few minutes and take a look to her left. A few kids are running away in the rain from their parents trying to spend a little more time outside. This scenery brings a small smile on her face making Evelyn unaware of the person who stopped a few steps away. 

      A sigh escapes her lips. Turning around she couldn't take any step forward. She couldn't move at the sight in front of her. Questions are floating in every corner of her mind making her confused. Eve wants to scream, to hug, to break, to smile, to cry, to laugh but she stands still. Her gaze is looking from head to toes trying to foolish her. Trying to find something which says 'it is not him' so she could move on. But she could recognize him no matter what. If he would be one of the ocean waves, she would know which one. If he would be a flower, she would pick him. If he would be the bee who stings her, she still wouldn't let go just to keep him in her hands a little more.

        - Lyn. 

     She moves her eyes to the ground. This one was her favorite sound. She adored to hear it every time. She loved it when it woke her up in the morning, when it said her name, even when it was saying nonsense. She thought that it wouldn't affect her anymore. At least not after this long time but she was so wrong. Her entire heart still longs for his voice. Tears are trying to make their way out but Eve doesn't want to cry. She was alright a few moments ago. She was going to forget everything. His presence should have been something that she could had handle. Evelyn takes a deep breath and moves her eyes on him. His chocolate eyes are studying her with a little hesitation in them, and hers are filled with sadness. He didn't come here trying to hurt her. He didn't have any thoughts that they will meet today but fate is always playing games.

        - San, she whispers.

     He missed hearing his name said by her. He missed everything about Eve. From having her with him until every little detail like playing with her fingers when she is nervous.

     A huge wave of emotions hits her when a warm and sincere smile appear on San's face. The smile she was used to. In that moment she broke down. Now hot tears are making their ways on her cold cheeks. Without thinking twice she throws herself in his arms. San embraces Evelyn back trying to pull her closer to his chest. She didn't realize how cold it was until she hugged him. San is hiding his face in her hair trying to hold his tears back. None of them wanting to break away. After all those sleepless nights, unspoken words and regrets.
