There will be events. Some of them will be events like festivals, ice cream socials, house parties, etc. where some juicy stuff might go down. Others will be not so much events in the social sense but events in the RPG that will act more like plot drops, where something will happen or something will be revealed that will cause commotion or cause our members to have to act upon some possibly spooky events. I can’t really say too much without giving away spoilers for the future. 

There will be a range of different tasks, they won’t all be the same. Some will require self-paras. Some will require interaction with other characters. Some might be something as simple as making a character playlist, or a pintrest board. They’ll vary in depth & type. But they’ll be fun, I promise.

Yeah. Once we open, I’ll make a ‘wanted connections’ form for members to fill out & submit if they have any one in particular that they want filled/advertised on a page on the main. 

I was about to start working on some “town” pages right now. So, they don’t really have any big shops. No Targets or Walmarts or Whole Food’s. It’s mostly mom & pop shops— small drug stores, little grocery outlets, that kind of thing. Anything too big doesn’t stay in business because there aren’t enough people to keep them open. There’s been a JCPenney building in construction for about 4 years now, but very little progress gets made & everyone is pretty sure that corporate has forgotten about it completely. 

They have a bowling alley, an arcade, two different bars, a diner, a very small movie theater that usually has outdated films (usually nothing more recent than films that came out a year ago, and something that recent is BIG news), a public pool, and an ice cream shop. They have two big name fast food places– a Taco Bell & a Sonic. The mayor announced the building of a roller rink in May, but that was put on hold after Macy’s death. They have two parks in town. One has a playground for children while the other has only swings & is more for adults to enjoy. People used to spend a good amount of time making their own kinds of fun in the woods surrounding the town, but not many people are brave enough to venture into them anymore.

As far as jobs go, somebody could be a waiter, a bar tender, a receptionist for the doctor or dentist’s office in town, a writer for the newspaper, a newspaper deliverer, a teacher, a bus driver, a janitor, a lifeguard, a cashier at one of the mom & pop shops, a secretary, a gas station attendant, a nurse, a hairdresser, a nail tech, or just about any other “small town job” you can think of. If you’re wanting to give your character a job/career but are unsure if it’ll fit in town, you can always message me about it & we can talk!

For technology, they’ve got it, most of it is just either wildly outdated or doesn’t work very well. Any current (2016-now) TVs or computers or phones or whatever you might desire would have to be ordered from somewhere online & delivered, or would have to be picked up out of town. The more recent the technology, the more incompatible it is with the town’s slow internet connection & phone service. They have a phone, cable & internet provider named TRAIL that’s main office operates from a slightly larger town about 3 hours away. They’re impossible to get a hold of and even when you can reach them, they hardly ever do anything to fix any problems their customers may be having. But they’re the only company with a tower near Summerford so the citizens don’t have another option.

Kieran grew up in Summerford, but moved away after graduation to attend college and study journalism. Her parents stayed behind. They were the ones who told her what was going on in Summerford. She originally came out to cover Macy’s murder, but the story seems to be deeper than she could have ever imagined. She is a full believer in the black eyed children, and seems to be haunted by them herself. She feels like she’s in danger, but that won’t stop her from getting to the bottom of what’s really going on.
