It wasn’t often Hog let a Medic get their hands on him, but it had been over an hour and the fragment was trapped in the axillary pouch of his shoulder joint, so his huffing of medifluid had only let to the fragment wiggling around painfully as he body tried to push it out, but was unable to do so.
Lying under the pale doctor above him, Hog watched him wearily behind the lens of his mask. The arm of the shoulder lying lifted to allow access to the joint but the giant fist was clenched knuckle white and his breathing was labored with pain.
Because he had not wanted to see a medic and kept trying to force Medifluid, the Medic had to constantly cut into him to keep the wound open, and the repeated cutting was starting to wear down his pain tolerance. At the next cut, he couldn’t help but give a little pained gasp, and his uninjured hand came up to grab the Medic’s shoulder, massive fingers holding the Doc in a bruising grip as he growled softly, but he wouldn’t crush the man, not until he’d been healed at least.
Ebner was annoyed, this wasn't even a real medbay, it wasn't stocked. He was basically preforming field medicine in house. He did have his veterinarian bag because he'd come from a call the day before. He grunted as the wound healed up around his forceps and blade again. Aggravating, more work and more pain. The hand on him made him abandon that approach for now, he leaned in not caring about the gore as he placed the tools off to the side he lifted his hand with two fingers up. "How much do you weigh? and How much fumes did you inhale?" He then pulls out of the grip using a pressure point. He needed to fetch something out of his bag, make this easier on everyone here. He rarely worked on people or animals without an analgesic. Aware most hated medics her in the industry probably why the other insisted without; He wasn't even a medic. He had been working on respawn code he just needed a room to do the computations. He exhaled in a huff as he cleaned himself up. He liked his bones intact a lot more, so he rummaged around his bag for any supplies he had. He wouldn't need to do any sutures with that healing factor, he had some supplies not a lot but he could work with it. "Do you have any medical allergies I should know about?"
Hog grunted in annoyance as he pulled free but didn’t try and grab him again, instead using the respite to relax, going limp as he took a reprieve from the endless cutting.
“Inhaled 5 canisters.” Was all he said, his answer coming slow through pants, ignoring the question about his weight as he knew what the Medic was aiming for and he wasn’t having it. “Naw. You’re not putting shit in me.” He growled as he pushed himself back to sitting up, the pain easier to ignore as his focus was drawn towards the Medic’s bag, gearing up to fight away syringes he might take out. He didn’t trusts any healers.
"I have some topical if that's what you would prefer?" He puts away the vial and syringe, not risking a confrontation. He needed to avoid a power struggle, not being in the respawn meant he would fight much harder, but if he could avoid the fighting all together he would. "Five," said with disbelief but that was it, he was incredulous that someone would... well not completely. The predecessor red medic was not fit for medicine and yet had been putting random organs into his team mates for complementary sepsis. According to the report. Five in a row was excessive, but he was known to ‘over indulge’ in mediflumes and fluids, usually huffing at least two a day regardless of injury.
Skeptical he said nothing but snatched the tub from the doctor with his good arm and looked it over, the horse had made him worried it was some anthropomorphic cream that would make him starts to grow horse fur where applied, but upon some quick investigating, the Medic would watch some of the tension leave his body. It wasn’t the same kind he used, but he has messed around with numbing cream before so he knew enough to recognize the ingredients as being about right.
“Yeah, alright.” He agreed, tossing it back to the Medic. He imagined the man had gloves to apply it and he didn’t want his own hands numb when he went back into battle.
The medic was wise to avoid confrontation as Hog was happy to send anyone who pissed him off through respawn, friend or foe, but if he knew the Medic wasn’t in respawn that would change things. He already had a few counts against him by administration and permanently killing a medic might be the final straw that gets him blacklisted.
Ebner put the tub off to the side and pulled on the only gloves he had, the to the shoulder gloves. Then he groused as he dug through the cabinets in the place to find some linens to clean the mess of blood and tissue on the arm. There was maybe one, and it had some suspicious stains on it, looked like oil. He aborted that, he didn't need a rag, it would be nice to have one. He held the tube in his hand for a bit warming the paste up, He would just do his best to remove the remains of him cutting for the last few minutes. moving the debris away from the spot and applying dollop of the cream, rubbing it in and also palpitating the hard foreign bodies. they were still there of course. It was a half competent massage of the shoulder and the surrounding areas. as he'd be cutting in and the surrounding structures needed to be numb as well. he used a pen to circle the two areas that he could feel the lead. "you will need to follow up with your medic to make sure, its all out. please refrain from grabbing me." there were arteries in this area, he looked at his tools and cream covered gloves. the rubbed them off on his smock which already had a generous coat of blood on the sleeves and midsection. that's what it was for, but he disliked looking like a nutter. He moved away to put the cream away it need a few minutes to take effect. grabbing his cane he looked in a few of the bays trying to find a stool, or something he could sit on. Something to relive his pain, he located one and kicked it into the main room. "Now, we will start again. can you feel this?" Ebner poked one of the spots with his finger.

Honestly, V was excited for the coffee date. Of course, he was a new medic for Mannco and wanted to learn everything he can. That opportunity came in the form of Dr. Ebner. They had met in passing, a brief nod at most. Well, it wasn't exactly a date per-say. Viktor just knew where the doctor got his coffee. It wasn't stalking! Just happened to see it as he was passing by through town.
The medic had freshly showered, shaved, combed his hair, and dressed in the best vest and button-up he could find in his closet. Now, he wasn't the most organized person in the world, but he'd been told he has a decent fashion sense. Looking in the mirror, he made sure he looked good enough and ran out the door.
The walk to the cafe was brisk. It wasn't too far from base, but he was eager to get there nonetheless. When he arrived, he quickly ordered an espresso and sat at a 2 seater, waiting for the man he intends to meet to come strolling in.
It only took about half an hour of waiting before he saw him. Once Dr. Ebner got up to order, Viktor made his move. Sliding up to the elder man, he pulled out his wallet.
"Whatever he is getting, I will be paying."
He'd come out this way because they had a decent espresso and his machine was broken and currently being fixed by an irritable red demo who had chased him out with a socket wrench and threats. the Threats were more of mind boggling boredom, he did not care to hear more about string theory or quantum mechanics. So he'd left and made his way to the coffee shop, only to be propositioned by a younger man. He wasn't wearing any handkerchief, or leathers so he was somewhat suspicious of the other, and of course the lady behind him was making noises at the scene, He let the other pay of course, not wanting to make a scene. "my usual, an espresso and pastry." It would be unlikely he'd be able to eat in peace though. He could bag it up and eat it later, there would be strings with this espresso. He picked up his order and turned to the younger man, waiting for a prompt. resisting the urge to tap his cane. He needed his coffee fix, but he would sit first. "was there something you need to talk about?" Unsure if this was the new staff member at the base or was he imagining it. Had they passed in the hallway?
Oh boy, he felt the awkwardness, ducking his head a bit. Right, they were strangers. An introduction was probably very much needed. Viktor lead the way to where he was seated, pulling out the opposite chair for the other to take a seat. It wasn't out in the open, more tucked into one of the cozy corners of the ruddy cafe. The table was clean and the chairs were sturdy, that's all that mattered to him. Once the other took a seat, he sat opposite of him, waiting for his coffee to be ready.
Once it was called out, V got up and brought it too him, along with some sugars and creamer, if he needed it. He then sat down opposite of him with his own little espresso, that nervous smile never leaving his face. It took a moment before he extended a hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dr. Viktor Salonen, the new medic for the RED team. Word on the grapevine is that you know quite a lot about medical practices here. Would it be too forward to ask to learn some from you?"
He presented, a hopeful look in those cold autumn eyes.
"I would like to do the best I can for my team."
Ebner followed and he could hear some of the women gossiping, it could be worse. At least they hadn't presumed this was his child. Small favor, he placed his pastry on the table and sat down primly, tucking his cane under the table. Folding his gloved hands and waiting for something from the young man. Something to go on, beyond 'robbing the cradle' based on the cafe chatter. When the other left to fetch the coffee he allowed himself to sag a bit in the chair. Seemed just being quiet had the other in a tizzy, which was fine, the other man looked vaguely familiar.
He accepted the hand shake, keeping it brief and firm. From the school of thinking that a handshake wasn't a test merely a formality. "Charmed, I am Dr. Ebner. I predominantly work with splices." He was not the least bit charmed but there were ears listening in and his days of spying had given him a second sense to know when it was best to follow the expected play. He looked at his espresso, hand on the table curling into a loose fist. He thought a bit while looking at his espresso he'd been ambushed. He wasn't certain if he should be tickled or miffed at that. "What were you hoping to learn?" medical procedures meant all sorts of things, for splices it was often a lot of animal husbandry, and providing safe spaces. He reached for his cup carefully and pulled it closer, there was a foam heart on the top. He looked at it blankly, there was a strong desire to return home and just have burnt coffee in the coldfront coffee pot. "you just need to listen to them, if they will give you the time," He'd been slightly worried this one had been out to get his physical done and that mann.co had figured out Dr. Vogt was not a medical doctor but thankfully it had not been so.

The dragon pauses in his work and looks over his back. they'd been working nicely in the same room for a few hours now. He resumes looking at the stuff in his claws, musing on the statement. assuming the other was talking about the past again, their failed relationship. What they had now was far different; However he was happy with it and preferred it this way.
"We are something right now. Do not beat yourself over something from the past. this is better."
Rasturn hummed pleased at the words, it was pleasing to hear that Ebner still wants him. It was refreshing to hear that from someone who wasn't Hartmut, he generally liked hearing that though. His situation set him a part from his so called peers, and this was just a reminder he wasn't that far removed.
"Of course, now let us go somewhere more comfortable."
He waited for the other to secure a stronger hold on his face as he lifted up. His smaller arms ready to catch Ebner if he did fall. Humming a tune as he carefully moved Ebner to the bed.
Ebner leaned further upon the head presented to him, maneuvering his body farther up. Reaching for the base of the horns. The only grip able thing on the face, everything else was a slippery sandpaper slope. He did not need to get road rash so soon.
he also didn’t want to walk, he sighed as he gripped his goal. Ebner was ready for bed, thinking of how to get the whole dragon in it. It was a big bed, but Rasturn would have to coil up in at some point to get his tail in.

"I want more," Ebner groused, he wanted more time with Rasturn man or dragon he wasn't picky. If only he'd been more aware of what he had the first time. He didn't want to share, but he was. He didn't like to think that daffy bird man was his rival. Lips curling at the thought. "How is this better? you are over there playing cat cradle with atoms, like its child's play."
Rasturn merely does a few more loops on the chain in his claws, yes this is like cat's cradle he rather likes that nifty string game. Brean has shown him so many, he likes them all he can do them as dragon with his multiple limbs. He refrains from sighing, so much for working apart in the same room. he finished his chain and placed it off to the side. Getting up, stretching and stalking towards the other like a great green cat. "It is child's play." He curled around the chair that held Ebner. Settling down and reaching out with one claw to push some of his hair back behind his ear. Rasturn made the deep pleased hum in his throat. "More is what to you? I seek you out, I spend time like this most days with you. What do you want more of?" Rasturn suspected he knew exactly what Ebner was after but he wants the other to verbalize it since he does the same thing to Rasturn when he's in human form.

Aware of the role reversal, its a sour thought that he doesn't really like being in the position to ask because he cannot fully articulate what he wants, its not encapsulated by any of the languages he knows and he is not a poet. He sags a bit in the chair reaching out with his hands to pull the other's massive head closer. "attention, affection, more. I enjoy this but I crave more intimate settings. We do not have to be in the lab or study." Ebner rubs the green snout with his hands, it doesn't cover the yearning, he knows its not romance though. he desires t become a dragon and sail the skies and stars with Rasturn and he knows that will never be.
Rasturn obliges the other in holding his head. resting it just so in the other's lap not the full weight because he doesn't want to hurt Ebner. his jaw is rougher than most of his skin, and his head its quite weighty.
"Ah," He rumbles Ebner was far more articulate than his human form. "More interactions? more time together doing more intimate things?" He could do that, he would not spend all his time though...he had to eat and do other things. "Does this extend to being a man too? or do you want more dragon?" Needing to ask since others seem to have preference and he would be remiss if he didn't clarify and then get hurt later one because of an assumption.
Ebner was pleased he didn't have to do half the emotional leg work which fueled him on that this was the correct the right thing to do matters of the heart now. lest he regret not. no more of that regret he would seize the day and ask for more. "I want your love, man or dragon it matters not. as long as it is you." He made no room for argument, he refused to understand why others would request one and not the other. they were the same thing.
"hmmm, well I suppose we should redraw the contract then." The contract was rather old and outdated, perhaps Ebner would do away with it? Rasturn rather liked it, something that spelled out what it was without attaching any emotionally charged words to it.
It was easier to work with when a man as his cognitive capacity was severely hampered. Though as a dragon he could understand doing away with it, he would probably update it regardless for himself as a study guide or something. "Well, do you desire more right now?" They could go to the bed which was far more comfortable for both of them, than this chair. He could scent the other's agitation, probably from his lame hip. He wouldn't mind helping the other with stretches, he had plenty of claws.
"If you still want it, yes I can update it." Ebner acquiesce gracefully the contract had been his idea and he was still pleased to see the other use it. the document had made a lot of their meetings easier, spelling out what was to be expected. he carefully scrawled that down on a nearby paper, for later. "I will always desire more, even when I cannot preform. I am greedy when it is you." He bent over to touch his forehead to the other's nose, soaking in the heat that was hotter than his own. He would however need to get out of the chair soon, but was reluctant to relinquish the other from his lap.

Rasturn obliges the other in holding his head. resting it just so in the other's lap not the full weight because he doesn't want to hurt Ebner. his jaw is rougher than most of his skin, and his head its quite weighty.
"Ah," He rumbles Ebner was far more articulate than his human form. "More interactions? more time together doing more intimate things?" He could do that, he would not spend all his time though...he had to eat and do other things. "Does this extend to being a man too? or do you want more dragon?" Needing to ask since others seem to have preference and he would be remiss if he didn't clarify and then get hurt later one because of an assumption.
Ebner was pleased he didn't have to do half the emotional leg work which fueled him on that this was the correct the right thing to do matters of the heart now. lest he regret not. no more of that regret he would seize the day and ask for more. "I want your love, man or dragon it matters not. as long as it is you." He made no room for argument, he refused to understand why others would request one and not the other. they were the same thing.

The dragon pauses in his work and looks over his back. they'd been working nicely in the same room for a few hours now. He resumes looking at the stuff in his claws, musing on the statement. assuming the other was talking about the past again, their failed relationship. What they had now was far different; However he was happy with it and preferred it this way.
"We are something right now. Do not beat yourself over something from the past. this is better."
He wanted to stamp his cane he'd just gotten a single side eye look. Speaking on things he regrets should warrant more attention. The dragon hadn't even turned his neck, just lifted his head to see. lazy!
"I want more," Ebner groused, he wanted more time with Rasturn man or dragon he wasn't picky. If only he'd been more aware of what he had the first time. He didn't want to share, but he was. He didn't like to think that daffy bird man was his rival. Lips curling at the thought. "How is this better? you are over there playing cat cradle with atoms, like its child's play."
Rasturn merely does a few more loops on the chain in his claws, yes this is like cat's cradle he rather likes that nifty string game. Brean has shown him so many, he likes them all he can do them as dragon with his multiple limbs. He refrains from sighing, so much for working apart in the same room. he finished his chain and placed it off to the side. Getting up, stretching and stalking towards the other like a great green cat. "It is child's play." He curled around the chair that held Ebner. Settling down and reaching out with one claw to push some of his hair back behind his ear. Rasturn made the deep pleased hum in his throat. "More is what to you? I seek you out, I spend time like this most days with you. What do you want more of?" Rasturn suspected he knew exactly what Ebner was after but he wants the other to verbalize it since he does the same thing to Rasturn when he's in human form.
Ebner watches the other, pleased that at least he is paying attention. he leaned into the claw, letting the other fix his hair. More attention, more everything, his gloves creaked as he tighten his grip on his cane. Aware of the role reversal, its a sour thought that he doesn't really like being in the position to ask because he cannot fully articulate what he wants, its not encapsulated by any of the languages he knows and he is not a poet. He sags a bit in the chair reaching out with his hands to pull the other's massive head closer. "attention, affection, more. I enjoy this but I crave more intimate settings. We do not have to be in the lab or study." Ebner rubs the green snout with his hands, it doesn't cover the yearning, he knows its not romance though. he desires t become a dragon and sail the skies and stars with Rasturn and he knows that will never be.

If I had a diner, the coffee would be 50¢ a cup. Just 50¢. Always 50¢, price never changes, it’s like the Costco hotdog. But the coffee is bad. Really bad, so bad, lukewarm, watery, medium roast SWILL. But it’s so cheap you feel like you want to finish your cup and buy another because wow, it’s so affordable. You drive by and you think ‘Hey, that’s the place with the cheap coffee, I need to go back there.’ having totally forgotten the coffee is bad, you fall for it again. Why would I do this? Because I’m evil.
