As a DM, sometimes you make a campaign where you want your players to be a solid 74.39% sure that information presented to them in game is true. NPCs are probably who they say they are, but sometimes Norman Dill Plum (seller of normal pickled plums) is secretly identical to a BBEG from the previous campaign. Maybe his name is secretly a pun on Nomme De Plume. Maybe once the party realizes this in game, i pull the twin brother twist from Gravity Falls. There might also be more, but the players dont know that yet.
