♫ she wears a ring, came through without it. you really think she stay true? i doubt it, 'cause i'm fucking your girlfriend and there's nothing you can do about it. ♫
sullivan vane - the homewrecker.
you’re not from around here , are you? i figured because you totally just missed SULLIVAN VANE walking by. don’t tell me you don’t know who HE is ? they kind of look like HUDSON WILLIAMS and i could be wrong but i think that they might be 26 years old right now. they’ve been living in palmview for the last SIX MONTHS. and i don’t know if anyone has ever told them this before but they kind of remind me of STERLING ARCHER from ARCHER. if you stick around the town long enough you might catch them in action working at COVE WELLNESS CENTER as a YOGA INSTRUCTOR. you see this town isn’t really that big of a place, some folks like to call them the THE HOMEWRECKER of palmview! they took a liking to the name too after a while, go figure. oh crap, they must have heard me yapping. they’re coming this way. i got to warn you though, rumor has it they can pretty SELF-CENTERED at times. i wouldn’t take it too seriously though, from the times i’ve spoken to them they seemed pretty LIVELY to me. we see each other all the time since they live in that 3 BEDROOM residence beside me over in HARBORVIEW RESIDENCES. i better leave you to it. it was nice meeting you!

PINTEREST BOARD.
QUICK HEADCANONS.
• raised by a "boy mom" who saw her sons as precious angels, and, therefore, never disciplined them regardless of any trouble they caused, alongside two brothers and a sister - who didn't receive anywhere near that same amount of leniency
• growing up, sully occasionally wondered why he looked a little different from the rest of his (fully white) family, but chose to accept the numerous lies given to him by his mother over the years - including, but not limited to, her having eaten a lot of korean barbecue during her pregnancy with him. it had always sounded a little off, but he loved his mom, she was perfect, and why would she lie to her special boy?
• he didn't find out the truth - that he was a result of an affair with his father's best friend - until age thirteen, and he realized that the extra time he'd spent getting ice cream with "uncle eugene" wasn't because he was the favorite child, but because he was the man's son. something he, arguably, maybe should have caught onto a little sooner, considering he's more or less the spitting image of the man, and hardly looks anything like the rest of his family, but the possibility that his mother would lie to him was just something he refused to believe.
• to this day, he will only ever make excuses for her regarding the situation - or any of the other messy behaviors exhibited by her - a total mama's boy through and through.
• sully is selfish, vain, and hedonistic, only ever acting with his own best interest in mind. whatever will bring him the most fun and pleasure is the choice he'll make every time, even at the expense of others.
• after high school, sully trained to become a yoga instructor - pretty much entirely with the plan of using his job to get closer to bored housewives, and, eventually, into bed with them. surprisingly, he wound up actually liking his job beyond that initial goal - one he's had a fair amount of success with - and describes himself as something of a philanthropist: giving back to the community by helping to stretch out all the baddies in town.
• though he's new to the palmview area specifically - having moved here to be closer to his girlfriend, who he later cheated on - he's been in florida for a few years now, not far from town. the relationship might not have worked out, but he decided to stick around anyway, curious to see what more this place might have to offer him.
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
regarding any of the archer-related connections: you definitely don't need to have seen the show or even have any knowledge of it - they're all just pretty loosely based, i'm not looking for any 1:1 recreations or anything! (honestly, it's been a minute since i've watched it myself, i just thought it'd be fun to go off of some of the dynamics i remember!) they also don't have to have those character counterparts to take the role! anyone that will fit the vibe is fine!
• SIBLINGS - detailed here
• THE LANA TO HIS ARCHER (f/m/nb) a years long, on again/off again situationship, he's hopelessly in love with them (though he won't admit it, even to himself) but too immature and terrible at commitment for it to ever work out. they can't stand him ninety-nine percent of the time, but, tragically, he's great in bed and they wind up underneath him more often than they'd like to admit. (more inspo here!)
• THE CYRIL TO HIS ARCHER (m/nb) - someone sully picks on and ragebaits for the fun of it, but secretly maybe enjoys their company a little more than he lets on.
• THE PAM TO HIS ARCHER (f/m/nb) - it was a one time, impulsive thing that sully mostly went into as a joke/out of boredom, but they wound up rocking his world and he still thinks about it sometimes - meanwhile, on their end, his performance was less than stellar, and they're not really looking for any encores, despite sully's pleas for a second shot at it.
• THE BARRY TO HIS ARCHER (m/nb) - his arch nemesis, the person that manages to really get under his skin more than anyone else. the competition between them has been going on for ages now, and doesn't look like it'll be ending anytime soon. though they both claim to hate each other, deep down, they'd both miss the fighting if it stopped.
& more ! friends, bestie, yoga students, hookups, childhood friends, cousins, high school sweetheart, flirtationship, sugar mommies/daddies, workout buddy, first time, people whose partners/siblings/parents, etc. he's hooked up with... the list goes on! also fully down for taking some of your wanted connections, so if you have one you think he'd be a good fit for, don't hesitate to ask!
TAKEN CONNECTIONS.
• ALYSSA LOCKHART: ex on bad terms - detailed here

🌈 closed starter: sully ( @sullyvane )
🌈 location: the sand bar
clementine had sent mateo a text that she wasn’t going to be attending the festivities today, bumming him out for a total of 2.5 seconds. maybe that itself should’ve been the push he needed, something that told him he was happier being away from her than with her, but mateo chalked it up to him just being overly excited for the festivities. it really was no surprise that the bar was full with people, everyone in colorful outfits one way or another, and he should’ve honestly expected this. the parade had been a blast, though exhausting in the best ways, he was glad he had mustered up the courage to step out and enjoy it. it helped that he had such good friends like marti and they made getting ready for the parade officially one of his favorite things to do. next year he knew exactly who he was going to hit up the moment it was 12:01am on june 1st. as he waited for the bartender to become unoccupied the sound of a familiar laughter made him immediately close his eyes and take in a deep breath. god, no. he groaned as he tried make himself smaller from him. the guy who made mateo give long sighs and managed to get under his skin quicker than he could even grasp. no. please, no. but all the silent pleading to the universe fell on deaf ears, as it usually did, because before he knew it the laughter had gotten suspiciously close. close enough that mateo could turn to the side and be greeted by sully fucking vane. “oh, hi, sully.” he managed a small smile before he turned and tried to get the bartenders attention with a little more urgency now. no use. he sighed and turned to look at the other again. “you seem to be enjoying yourself. are you just here for the free drink? if you can manage to get the bartender’s attention i will let you go first,” so you can get out of my hair faster, “because that’s just how nice of a fella i am.”
sully is busy in his own little world until he hears his name being mentioned, and a wide smirk quickly crosses over his lips when he realizes who it's coming from - and the opportunity that's being presented. a chance to mess with his good friend, mateo. he's quick to toss his arm over the poor guy's shoulder, getting in close as he slurs, "are you trying to get me drunk, matty?" as if he needed the assistance. based on his current state, mateo was a little late on that one, if that really was his plan.
marlowe doesn't feel bad for leading sully on - and depending on how things go, there might not even be a next time where he'll want to be alone in the room with her. big interventions require big actions, after all. she ducks her head, merely missing the door's frame. a giggle escapes, such a silly thing not souring her mood. “ i don't think you should kill the bride before the first night. that'd be nasty of you. ” wraps arms around sully's neck, searching for any kind of stability. she looks around the closet. voice commanding with just a tingle of uncertainty. “ put me down somewhere nice. ”
"sorry." sully mumbles, being a little more careful with his movements now so he doesn't accidentally wind up giving marlowe a concussion, and, as daintily as he can, sets her down on a pile of exercise mats. "wait, are you rich? because maybe that could work out in my favor. i didn't sign a prenup or anything. should we go back through, try it again?" he laughs, and sits down on the floor beside marlowe, looking up to meet her eyes as he scoots in a little closer. "was wondering when you'd finally take me up on this."
"yeah, i can only imagine it's been a bit of adjustment being in such a .... different enviorment compared to palmview," sav replied, finding herself nodding her head as she continued to speak with her younger brother. at first, it had been pretty spir of the moment that he wanted to take this trip, but it seemed like it was something he almost needed. his next question though? well, it was enough for her eyes to turn big, as if he was standing across from her asking it.
have you ever been in love?
why the hell was he asking her of all people? perhaps the vane with the least romantic bone in her body. "um, i think i have .... once, yeah. i'm fairly certain i've been in love. do you think you're having those kind of feelings right now about someone?"
"yeah. little bit." an understatement, to say the least, but sully doesn't want to bore her with the details. especially when he hasn't even had the chance to fully process how he feels about it all. ...on top of the long list of other things he was struggling to process lately.
"what? me?" there's a scoff that follows, like it's not a huge part of the reason he'd called - and like he wasn't the one to bring it up in the first place. after a long pause, and a slow exhale, he answers again - a bit more honestly this time. "...i don't know. yeah, maybe. something like it, i guess. hard to say." could he really be in love with someone who he'd had to travel to another continent with, just to get the guy to be seen publicly with him? ...but... alternatively... that guy had taken a fifteen hour flight just to spend a week with him, so... what did that mean? did any of this mean anything? or was it just some impulsive trip, that would be nothing but a memory this time next week? "or maybe i'm just having some kind of noodle-induced psychosis. they were really spicy."
spencer leans in to look at sully's phone, encroaching on his space. it didn't look far, maybe a few minutes, but definitely walkable. “ okay, ” he mumbles, following him like a lost child. he'll have to depend on sully's guidance this whole trip despite the fact that neither of them really know what they're doing — they're practically on the same page, but he sticks close by anyway. if they get lost, then at least they're getting lost together.
korea's nice. so far, at least, in the fifteen or so minutes he's been here. he thinks he'll really enjoy it here (partly because of his company as well.) spencer stops when he stops, and he chances a glance at his phone again. they're close to the hotel, he thinks. brows furrow when he glances back up at sully, who seems to be caught up in something he can't quite place. “ you good? ”
sully hadn't even realized he'd stopped walking until he hears spencer checking in on him, but he's quick to snap back out of it - lest he, god forbid, accidentally look anything less than totally cool and chill around the guy. "y-yeah, uh-" he clears his throat when he discovers how shaky his voice sounds, and shakes his head, hard, like he's trying to shake away all the emotion built up in him. "yeah. totally." this time, his voice is noticably deeper, as he pushes himself to sound as easy, breezy as possible, and starts moving again, sparing a glance over at spencer. "just uh... shaky legs, i guess. from sitting so long. you know how it is. come on, let's keep going. almost there." this trip was a lot - with the whirlwind of how it had all come about, he hadn't even fully realized just how much weight there was to it until now, but he wasn't going to ruin things by looking like some big fucking crybaby over it in front of spencer. he'd just have to find some other time, later, to get it all out then, and keep it all bottled up for now. the healthy way.

"i can understand how that probably feels weird," savannah replied. of course, she couldn't truly understand how her brother felt their entire childhood. he was the odd child out, the one who stuck out like a sour thumb. she had never cared about that, always considering him her true brother despite not sharing the same dad. "but it still seems like you've been enjoying yourself, it's beautiful out there," she added on, smiling at the thought of his instragram post from earlier that day. "but, something tells me you're not calling me to talk about the architecture there? what do you mean by that, sul?"
"it's trippy." sully chooses not to mention the part where he'd nearly cried, the first time he stepped out of the airport and into the city, figuring she didn't need to know everything. "like an out of body experience or something." he goes quiet for a long, few seconds, trying to figure out the best way to explain what he was going through - part of it, anyway, and to work up the courage to not just chicken out of over it. instead, he takes a slight detour, and asks, "do you think you've ever been, like... in love? or... whatever?"
who: sully & martina @lovesh0ts
where: ocean place yacht club
sully had until the end of the month before his yacht club membership ran out, and, seeing as he was almost certain mrs. henderson wasn't going to renew it this time, he figured he might as well make the most of it, by treating martina and himself to a fancy dinner on mrs. h's dime. he'd gone all out, even putting a suit on, feeling 'elegant af' as he waits for martina by the front door of the club, letting out a low whistle when he spots them arriving, raising his sunglasses up and down for the show of it. "damn, look at you. looking snazzy, mart. putting me to shame over here."
"hi," she responded back, holding the phone close to her ear. laying her head on her bed frame, she stretched out her legs to make herself comforable on her bed. savannah took a slight breath, nodding her head in agreement. as if sully was even there to see it, he was half way across the world at the moment. ".... i promise," she paused for a few moments, trying to choose the right words to say. "um, you're my little brother, sullivan ... you can tell me anything," she spoke, even if there was some slight uneasyness in her tone. she had no idea what she was about to hear. "my roomie and rhia are both sound asleep, take as long as you need, really."
savannah is being nice, more patient with him than he probably deserves, but, fuck, it feels like the weight of this trip - the good, and the bad - is all falling onto his shoulders right now, making it hard to get the words out. "it's weird, being here." he starts, instead, hoping the point of the call will come out eventually, the longer he talks. "feels more like a family reunion than any of the ones we ever went to did. i'm not sticking out like a sore thumb in a sea of blondes. here, spencer looks like the odd man out." and, boom. there it was. hadn't taken as long as he'd thought it might, to bring him up. "...sav, i'm gonna be real with you. i think i'm fucked."
savannah had been pretty quick to pick up on the weird tone of some of sullivan's texts to her. the two of them had been communicating throughout the week while he was on his trip to korea. he had seemed to be enjoying himself for the most part, but she couldn't help but notice how off he had been acting tonight. what was even more strange? him asking if he could call her. that was the last thing she had expected and despite how much he could annoy her to no end, she didn't have the heart to say no. to her, this meant that he clearly needed to talk to someone about something important. something that was clearly on his mind that he needed to get out.
after spending most of the night cleaning up around the bungalow and packing up her things for her upcoming trip, sav locked her bedroom door and answered her phone. "hey, what's going on sully?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm, collected.
"hey." sully couldn't remember the last time he'd had a serious conversation like this with his sister - maybe not since high school, and it felt... weird. but he had no other choice. he couldn't call his mom, not after he'd been ghosting her all week, and... well... it wasn't really like he had any friends he could confide in. there was bryn, sure, but that was still new - and there was a certain conflict of interest there. savannah was the only person he could talk to about this, and he needed to talk to someone, before he exploded. "you can't say - or text, or any other loopholes - a word of this to anyone. i mean it. i'll never talk to you again. promise me."
who: sully & savannah @savsvane
where: seoul, south korea → palmview, florida
this was stupid. it was the middle of the day, way too early - and he was way too sober - to be feeling like this. now there was an idea. maybe he should just get drunk, instead, and not risk blurting out something that had been bubbling up inside him for, let's face it, years now. but his fingers are tapping on the screen before he can stop himself, dialing up the last person he thought he'd confide in about something like this - his sister.

he blinks bank his exhaustion, forces himself to stay awake despite his body's attempts to shut down. not to mention the jet lag that comes with being on the other side of the world. if he can hold out for another hour or so, a nap will be his reward. besides, he's also hungry, and it's always better to sleep on a full stomach than an empty one, anyway. and he did want to explore a little bit before he wasted the rest of the day asleep, even if he did have the rest of the next few days to do that.
“ lead the way, ” he says, trailing behind him with his luggage in hand before catching up beside him. and then they're out of the airport and actually into the country. spencer feels like a fish out of water in a brand new place, a little overwhelmed in a new environment, kind of like when his mother upped and moved them to palmview from new york when he was six years old. but at least he had sully on his side — someone grounding, someone from home.
"okay, it's not far, looks pretty easy- i made sure to get us one that'd be easy to find from the airport, since, you know, neither of us know any korean." they had to hope on being able to bank on people around here knowing some english, or, otherwise, they might be fucked -- or maybe just have to spend the whole trip in the hotel room. that could work too, now that he thinks about it. sure, maybe this trip was kind of important to him - self-discovery and all that, blah, blah, blah, but... the spencer of it all was really starting to take presidence in his head. at least- until he stops to look up and make sure they're going the right way, and it all just starts to hit him, like a ton of bricks. korea.
he'd thought about visiting before, but had never worked up the nerve to until now, and, suddenly, he's here. surrounded by a part of himself that had been his family's dirty little secret for so long, kept even from him, for as long as his mother could help it, but now, he's here, and he can embrace that part of himself, learn more about it, instead of trying to fool himself into pretending it doesn't exist. ...maybe the middle of a busy sidewalk outside a crowded airport isn't the best place to stop and have this realization, but sullivan vane has never exactly been known for his convenience.
"we could get drunk," she repeated, considering for just a moment, though the shrug of her shoulders was entirely non-committal. she'd definitely had worse drinking partners over the years, and even though she still didn't love spending time around sully, it would definitely make the night more interesting. maybe she'd get more information out of him than she planned on. and if she didn't, at least she was getting free food out of the deal. she raised her brows at his question. "the lore where you didn't know you were asain?"
"should get drunk." sully corrects, with a little bit of excitement, surprised that natalia seems to actually be going along with an idea of his. "hang on, i got a bottle of malibu pink in the cabinet." he sets his plate back down on the table and opens up the cupboard to grab the bottle out, tucking it under his arm before grabbing his food and heading out to the living room to join natalia. "...that's kind of the whole thing. sounds like you already know it."
“ alright, then, ” not that spencer didn't believe him, but he's pretty sure his own tolerance to spice was in a league of its own. he wonders where he gets it, or if his taste buds are just built different on their own. “ yeah, ” he trails off, watching as the people went by in the airport. none of these people know i'm spending a whole week here with my years long situationship whom i've never spent longer than a night with ever. god, this is crazy. he thinks his brain is about to shut down, but he blames it on the exhaustion rather than the insanity of it all.
“ um, ” he ponders on the question, eyes flitting to his shoes as he fights back his body's weariness. he does want to get in a few hours of rest, probably, definitely needs it, but, “ nah, i wanna see what other flavors they have here. ” blame it on curiosity, or finding an excuse to maximize time with sully, even if they did have a full week to themselves. he doesn't even notice his staring, too caught up in the idea of food to pay attention to anything else. “ we should just walk, we've been sitting for far too long, ” that, and he would rather focus on getting his feet moving than have to sit with his own thoughts again.
spencer seems tired, sully can see it on his face, but he's not about to argue with him about it. especially when it means getting to spend a little extra time together. besides- a quick walk to a nearby store was definitely different from a day of sight-seeing. surely, he could handle it. "okay." he agrees, more easily than usual with just about anything - always loving to pick a fight just for the sake of it, but things feel different here. calmer. like he doesn't need to... perform so much.
after a fifteen hour flight, he definitely had a point. sully wasn't sure he'd ever sat that long in his life - at least, not since he'd learned how to walk, and stretching his legs sounded like a good idea right now. maybe in more ways than one, once they got back to the hotel later... "let me just-" he takes a second to get his phone out of his pocket, pulling up the directions for the hotel, double checking to make sure he doesn't accidentally get them lost. "this way." out of the airport, into the light of day, with spencer by his side. insane.
this is just insane. spencer didn't think sully was being serious about the trip to korea but here they are now, at the airport, in korea. he could barely sleep the whole flight there despite the near twenty hour trip, riddled with a million thoughts he couldn't seem to push down if he tried. like why he agreed in the first place, and why he still agreed after finding out it would end up being just the two of them. then again, he would never turn down a free trip. even if it is with sully of all people — or especially because it is?
he's got his luggage now, brought a bigger suitcase than necessary because he knows he won't be able to stop himself from buying every little thing that he thinks sami might like. it's partially why he agreed, knew everything that was adorable would be there and he was sure there would be something for his daughter to enjoy. maybe she is a little spoiled by him, but it's hard to resist when she's his only child (so far. he's still thinking about what bryn asked him at the park the other day, but that's not something he'd like to think about at the moment.)
okay, so he is a little tired, having slept for maybe a total of three hours collectively on that flight. he rubs his tired eyes and fights back a yawn. “ i could use a nap, ” but his mind is far too awake right now, the fact that he's in korea with sully finally sinking in and putting his brain on overdrive. there won't be just nights together this time, there'll be mornings and afternoons spent with him, something they've never done before. and spencer doesn't know what to do with that thought. “ but i'm also a little hungry. ”
spencer rolls his eyes, but he's a little relieved to hear a stupid joke coming from sully's mouth. he'd admittedly noticed a shift in his demeanor the whole flight there and thought that maybe he'd done something wrong (even though he can't think of a reason), so it's, well, weirdly comforting to know nothing's changed. “ we could get buldak, ” he suggests, mouth practically watering at the thought of his comfort food. “ how's your spice tolerance? ”
"oh, i can handle spice, white boy." he couldn't, really, but he wasn't about to look like some kind of wuss in front of him. and surely his body would just... adapt, and take care of it for him, especially now that he was here, in his native land. "so... hotel, drop off bags, noodles." as long as they had a plan, and kept moving, and didn't get stuck letting the weight of all of this soak in... he'd be fine. surely.
"you want me to just head out and grab some for you? at the corner store, or something? so you can get some beauty sleep?" not that he needed any. the dude was ridiculously gorgeous, probably the prettiest person he'd ever seen, and it takes sully a second to even realize he's just staring at him now, quickly redirecting before - hopefully - spencer noticed. "come on. it's not far. you wanna just walk? or should i get a cab?"
working on a display near the front of the library, abel picks up a brightly colored book and flips it over to read the back, "are these faerie books any good?" he asks the nearest person, "everyone always wants to take them out, but i haven't gotten around to reading any... is it worth my time?"
"hey, man, i don't think you're allowed to call them that anymore." sully informs abel as he continues to go through the stack of books in his hand, trying to decide if he wants to put any back. "but... it's pride month, so... i dunno, if you're gonna read one of them now, it's probably the best time for it."

who: sully & spencer @h0tblood
where: seoul, south korea - incheon international airport
this whole thing had been a total whirlwind; a sudden gut-decision has somehow landed him here, in korea, with spencer, alone with him for the next week. it felt like some kind of dream - but they were clothed, so it couldn't be. it was somehow real. the plane ride had been... weird - long, but he'd tried to sleep through most of it, with the help of some medication, hoping to avoid ruining - no, sullying - things before they'd even stepped foot in the korean airport. other than three or four jokes about joining the mile high club, he'd kept to himself, mostly, focusing on just resting up so they could make the most of their time here.
"so..." luggage acquired, it was time to officially leave the safe familiarity of the airport, and head out into the land of... his people? half his people. but what if he didn't fit in here, either? it was probably unrealistic to think he would, he knows, considering he barely knew anything about this place, and sully suddenly finds himself feeling more nervous about this than he had about the spencer of it all - but he tries his best to keep it cool, not wanting to look like some total weirdo in front of the guy he was trying to impress.
"hotel first? drop off the bags? and then, uh," and then? discover this part of himself that had been hidden from him for so long? soak in his family's deep, dark secret? he hadn't even told his mom he was coming. he never kept anything from her. ...despite things clearly not going both ways on that. "food or-... do you-... are you tired? do you need a nap, or-...?" he feels like he's had about four iced coffees, his body is so jittery, and he starts to wonder if maybe it'd just be a better idea to turn around and get on the next flight back home.
but... spencer. this was his only chance to spend time with him, more than just an hour or two, and he couldn't just pass that up. just because this felt like a dream, it didn't mean he should force himself to wake up too early. make a dirty joke, make a dirty joke, he repeats in his head like a mantra, scrambling to come up with one, to make things normal again. "you want a nice, thick, k-dog? could get you one of those." there. nailed it.
