The “mission” was already going wrong before it even started.
“You guys are acting like this is some elite ninja operation,” you muttered, watching Leo dramatically point at a badly drawn map on Donnie’s tablet. “We’re literally just trying to follow a guy to a warehouse.”
“It’s called strategy,” Leo said immediately, trying way too hard to sound cool. “A leader needs tactical precision.”
“You watched one documentary.”
“It was TWO documentaries.”
From the couch, Mikey shoved an entire handful of cheese puffs into his mouth. “Bro’s been insufferable all week.”
“I have always been like this,” Leo defended.
“Exactly,” Raph said.
You snorted quietly, and Leo’s eyes flicked toward you almost instantly. That was the problem lately. Every time you laughed, looked at him, spoke to him, breathed in his general direction—his brain completely short-circuited. And he hated that everyone was starting to notice. Especially Donnie.
Donnie adjusted his glasses with the most evil little smirk imaginable. “Interesting. Leo volunteering to pair up with Y/N.”
Leo nearly choked. “WHAT? Dude, we literally just need balanced teams.”
“Sure” Donnie replied flatly.
You looked between them suspiciously. “…Am I missing something?”
“NO,” Leo answered way too fast.
Raph raised a brow. “You sounded guilty.”
“I SOUND NORMAL.”
“You sound like a substitute teacher trying not to cry.”
Leo threw a pillow at him. Splinter sighed from across the room without even looking up from his show. “Please leave before one of you damages my television.”
That was how you somehow ended up walking through the city beside Leo twenty minutes later while the others split off elsewhere. Nighttime in New York buzzed around you loudly—cars honking, music blasting from open windows, neon signs flickering over wet pavement. Leo walked beside you with his arms swinging, trying to act relaxed.
Trying being the key word. Because internally? Internally, this dude was losing his mind.
You looked good tonight. Like, unfairly good. Not even in some dramatic movie way either—you just existed near him and suddenly he forgot how to function properly. He accidentally walked into a parking meter.
You stared at him.
“I meant to do that.”
“That makes it worse.”
“Yeah. Yeah, probably.”
You laughed again, and Leo physically had to stop himself from smiling too hard. God. This was bad.
“So,” you said after a moment, “what exactly’s the plan here, fearless leader?”
Leo straightened immediately at the title. “Okay, so according to Donnie’s intel, this guy’s delivering tech parts to some black-market place near the docks. We follow him, see who he meets with, maybe grab information—”
A loud engine suddenly roared somewhere nearby. Both of you turned. A guy wearing a helmet had just parked a motorcycle beside a convenience store before running inside.
Your eyes widened a little. “Okay, that thing looks dangerous.”
Leo looked at the bike. Then looked at you. Then back at the bike. And unfortunately for everyone involved, an absolutely terrible idea entered his brain.
You noticed the expression instantly. “No.”
“What? I didn’t even say anything.”
“You have the face.”
“I do not have a face for bad ideas.”
“You absolutely do.”
Leo stepped closer to the motorcycle, trying to appear smooth and confident despite having literally never driven one before in his life.
“I’m just saying,” he started casually, “we could get to the docks faster.”
“Leo.”
“And motorcycles are objectively cool.”
“Leo.”
“And I’m naturally athletic, so honestly, how hard could it be?”
You crossed your arms. “Have you ever ridden one?”
He paused. “…Define ridden.”
You stared at him in disbelief. But Leo flashed you a grin anyway—cocky, reckless, determined to impress you even if it killed him.
“Trust me,” he said, hopping onto the bike like he totally knew what he was doing. “I got this.”
“You are absolutely going to kill us,” you informed Leo as he struggled to figure out how the motorcycle even started.
“I am deeply offended by your lack of faith.”
“You pressed the horn three times.”
“That was tactical.”
You watched him fumble with the handles for another few seconds before sighing dramatically and climbing onto the back seat anyway. Leo tried very, very hard to act normal about that. He failed instantly. Because now you were right behind him.
Like—right behind him. Close enough that he could feel your knees brush against his sides when you adjusted yourself on the bike, and suddenly his brain forgot every martial arts lesson he had ever learned.
“Oh my god,” he muttered quietly to himself.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“You said that out loud.”
“No I didn’t.”
“You literally did.”
Leo cleared his throat aggressively and reached for the extra helmet hanging from the handlebars. He turned slightly and handed it to you.
“You wear it.”
You blinked. “What about you?”
“I don’t need one.”
“You definitely do.”
“Nah. My skull’s built different.”
“That is not how helmets work.”
“I’m a ninja mutant turtle. I think I transcend road safety laws.”
“You are SO getting brain damage.”
Leo snorted. “Pretty sure I already have some.”
You rolled your eyes but put the helmet on anyway, tightening the strap under your chin while Leo tried not to stare at you too obviously. He was doing a terrible job.
The second you finished adjusting it, he looked away so fast it almost gave him whiplash.
“Okay,” he announced, gripping the handles with way too much confidence. “Ready?”
“No.”
“Perfect.”
Before you could protest further, the motorcycle suddenly lurched forward.
You immediately grabbed onto his shell. “LEO—”
“I GOT IT.”
“You almost hit a mailbox!”
“I MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE.”
“You drove directly AT IT.”
“But I DIDN’T hit it.”
“That is NOT reassuring!”
Somehow—through pure luck, panic, and probably divine intervention—Leo managed to stabilize the bike as it sped through the streets. And annoyingly? He actually started getting the hang of it.
The night air rushed past both of you, cold and loud, neon lights streaking around the city while cars blurred beside you. Leo’s earlier panic slowly shifted into smug confidence.
“See?” he yelled over the engine. “Natural talent!”
“You almost died three separate times!”
“BUT I DIDN’T.”
You groaned loudly behind him. Then suddenly—
The road ahead slanted sharply upward where part of a broken ramp connected between levels of the street.
Your eyes widened immediately. “Oh, absolutely not.”
Leo leaned forward slightly. “Shortcut.”
“That is NOT a shortcut, that is a death wish!”
“There’s no time to go around!”
“There is definitely time to go around!”
Leo looked ahead dramatically like he was in some action movie nobody asked him to star in. “We commit to the bit.”
“LEONARDO—”
“Hold tight!”
The motorcycle accelerated. Your soul practically left your body.
“LEO WAITWAITWAIT—”
The second the bike hit the incline, panic completely took over your instincts. You grabbed onto him hard. Arms wrapped tightly around his middle. Chest pressed against his shell. Face buried against his shoulder as the motorcycle practically launched into the air for one horrifying second.
And Leo—
Leo nearly ascended spiritually. Every single thought in his brain vanished instantly. He could feel your grip tightening around him, hear your panicked breathing near his ear, and suddenly this dude was experiencing emotions so intense he almost forgot he was currently airborne.
This was it. This was the greatest moment of his life.
The bike slammed back onto the street with a violent bounce. You made a strangled noise into his shoulder. “I HATE YOU.”
Leo, meanwhile, was smiling so hard it physically hurt. “…Worth it.”
By the time the motorcycle finally screeched into an empty alley near the docks, your lifespan had probably shortened by at least ten years. The engine died with one last rumble. Silence. For a few seconds, neither of you moved. Then you slowly lifted your head from Leo’s shoulder.
“…I saw heaven.”
Leo was still gripping the handlebars, trying—and failing—not to grin like an idiot. “You screamed my full name three times.”
“Because I thought we were going to explode!”
“But we didn’t.”
“You DROVE OFF A RAMP.”
“And landed it.”
“You are never touching a vehicle again.”
Leo laughed breathlessly, finally climbing off the bike first. His feet hit the pavement before he turned back toward you almost immediately.
The stupid thing was—he looked genuinely concerned now. Not teasing. Not showing off. Just worried.
“You okay?” he asked softer.
You were still sitting frozen on the motorcycle, hands gripping the seat tightly. “I think my soul is still somewhere back there.”
“Okay, yeah, that one might’ve been a little intense.”
“A little?”
“In my defense,” he said, raising his hands slightly, “it looked cooler in my head.”
“That explains literally everything about you.”
Leo snorted. Then his expression shifted again when he noticed you hesitate trying to get off the bike. The adrenaline had worn off enough for your legs to feel shaky now.
“Oh—hold on.”
Before you could argue, Leo stepped closer carefully, one hand lightly holding the motorcycle steady while the other reached toward you. It was surprisingly gentle.
“C’mon,” he murmured. “I got you.”
You blinked a little at the sudden softness in his voice. For all his dramatic confidence and chaotic energy, Leo always got weirdly careful whenever you looked even slightly uncomfortable.
You placed your hand in his. His brain immediately short-circuited. He hoped it didn’t show on his face.
Slowly, Leo helped guide you off the motorcycle, keeping one arm around your waist to steady you when your legs wobbled against the pavement.
“There,” he said quietly. “See? Alive.”
“Barely.”
“You’re being dramatic.”
“You literally turned New York traffic into Mario Kart.”
“That is honestly the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
You let out a weak laugh despite yourself, though your grip on his arm. Leo noticed immediately. And because this was Leonardo? His entire chest basically melted.
“You’re still shaking,” he said.
“I hate heights.”
“We were like… ten feet off the ground.”
“That is enough feet!”
“Fair.”
For once, he didn’t joke after that. Instead, Leo looked down at you for a moment, the city lights reflecting faintly across his face while distant traffic echoed somewhere beyond the alley.
Then, quieter this time: “Hey.” You looked up at him. His expression softened completely. “I wouldn’t let anything happen to you.”
The words came out naturally. Instantly. No fake cool-guy attitude attached. And honestly? That probably made them hit harder.
Leo seemed to realize what he’d just said about half a second too late. His eyes widened slightly. Internal panic. Abort mission. Abort mission immediately.
So naturally, he made it worse. “I mean—not like you can’t handle yourself! You totally can. Obviously. You’re scary sometimes actually. Like emotionally terrifying. But I just meant if something DID happen, then I’d— y’know— do ninja stuff.”
You stared at him for a second. Then burst out laughing.
Leo groaned loudly and dragged a hand down his face. “Why am I like this?”
“I don’t know,” you admitted between laughs, “but it’s kinda funny.”
And somehow, even after nearly dying on a motorcycle five minutes ago, hearing you laugh like that still made Leo feel invincible.
I’m aware this wasn’t as fluffy as it could have been. But i’ve been wanting to recreate the ‘motorcycle scene’ for so long, so when i saw that someone was asking for MM Leo content, i couldn’t resist

April brings drinks, you bring dessert, and often times Casey will lug down a stack of take out boxes. Outside of the typical choice of pizza, the guys still had the talent of clearing the table, even the ever polite Leo.
It's Friday, like always, when you find yourself down in the lair late into the evening. It's a night you have off and a night they sometimes have off, so it's a day you and your friends tend to congregate.
You fondly remember Casey's first time on dinner duty, when he stepped off the platform into the lair and sent himself and thai food flying across the living room floor.
A thump to your forehead pulls you out, eyes refocusing to look up from their graffitied dinner table. The perpetrator for flicking faces, Raph, sits across from you leaned in with his arms folded. The others around you are stuck in their own conversations, nibbling on some of their dinner and cracking open more drinks. Tonight was Chinese food from some place with a rather shady food grade taped to the window.
"What?" You pout, rubbing at the tender spot on your head. He just huffs a laugh and shakes his head at you, the chair creaks when he leans back. "What's so funny?"
"Nothin', you just don't know how to listen."
"Sorry," Your annoyance melts, unable to help the smile that grows on your face. "I was thinking of that time Casey tripped over onto some pad krapow."
Casey, from the far end of the table, drops his head into the hand not favoring a beer and groans. "You guys are never gonna let me live that down, are you?"
"Nah man!" Mikey starts, talking around the food stuffed in his cheek. April turns away from him with a pinched face, covering the view with her hand. He doesn't notice. "Donnie had to put in a wooden step for you afterwards, it's a permanent memory."
"You're welcome, by the way." Donnie on the opposite end of the table pipes up, peaking at Casey over his ridiculously large tablet. "You haven't tripped since." Mikey lights up.
"Aw, his knight in shining tools!"
Raph's head tips back when he laughs, shoulders shaking. Trust it'll be Mikey to make his tough guy shell break a little. The hearty sound makes you smile even bigger, cheeks sore.
"Whatever man, eff you." The poor guy grouses, shoving a hand into Mikey's face. "not everyone has tree trunks for legs."
"Dude, we're the same height!"
"Yes, true." April agrees, but puts up a finger and points it at the youngest. "However, you could balance on a chopstick with your pinky if you tried. Casey can barely balance to put a shoe on." She waves her own chopsticks as if to emphasize.
Ignoring Casey's protest that 'He so can balance to put on a shoe!' Raph sucks his teeth and rolls his eyes. You swear this giant mutant was a teenage girl in a past life.
"No, Leo could balance on a chopstick with his pinky. This dumb ass," He tilts his head towards his little brother, "can balance on a board, at best."
The mere name of their oldest brother draws you from the table again, eye sight floating past Donnie's and over to the open kitchen. The warm light makes it feel almost nostalgic.
Leo's back is towards you all, but you can see his arms moving as he prepares and adjusts the dinner tray for his dad. He's dressed down for once, ready to kick back, and it feels sort of intimate to see him in nothing but his pajama pants and the blue Kanji painted on his shell.
You could never grasp how much those twin katanas covered. Considering his typical attire was just pants, pajama pants just feel so much more bare.
In true ninja nature, Leonardo's sense of awareness is proven to be on point. He throws a look over his shoulders and in the split second you see his eyes your head turns back to the table so fast something in your neck twinges.
You don't even dare trying to see if he's still looking, locking your sights right onto Raph's forehead and the way it moves when talks. The conversation had already moved to a different topic, and one that you aren't entirely fond of. Something about dating, that popped up from the reminder that Casey and April are going somewhere this weekend for a romantic outing. Your weariness outweighs your happiness, already a headache wades on the edges of your temples.
"This one is living the life of a nun," Raph gripes, directing his scrutiny onto you. "Do you even go on dates?" Your mouth works faster than your brain.
"Why? You interested?" Raph cringes as the table 'oooos' at you both. On one hand, you want to hold offense to the way he reacts, but on the other you desperately bite your tongue. You dare a glance towards the kitchen to happily see the fearless leader is nowhere in sight to witness this ungodly conversation.
"I can safely guess I ain't your type, tiger." The smug face he makes is damn near jumpable, your finger nail digging into a scratch on the table frustratingly. Mikey jumps in to ignorantly twist the knife in the wound.
"What is your type anyway?"
You know your type. You could give a full dissertation about your type with a provided example. One that's currently getting his dad set up in front of his little TV before bed, one that's wearing dorky plaid pajama pants low on his waist, one that has blue eyes that people would die and kill for.
It's that sick, sad little trope where the kid has a crush on her best friend's stoic older brother. The guy nods at you, or God forbid smiles, and you're an air head the rest of the day. Blue was your favorite color this year, tea was suddenly good, and peace of mind was something you apparently wanted to learn now!
But.... Leonardo is such a brick wall. It's like engaging with a painting.
"I don't know." A lie that slips through your teeth like smoke. Donnie, the only one sworn to secrecy on this matter, gives a long sigh that makes a muscle in your heart stutter. April purses her lips but says nothing. Casey doesn't care. " I just haven't found the right person. I'm sure whoever it is will pop up at some point."
'Whoever it is' was padding around the lair in slippers going about his evening routine.
Raph squints at you, just a fraction, enough to make your pits sweat. Whatever he sees dissuades him though, because he scoffs and rolls his eyes again. "I told you, nun."
You slowly let go of a breath you had been holding, your hands are jittery. You reach for a fortune cookie to distract yourself.
And as if he was manifested from your dreams, silently, Leo slips into the seat beside you. His smell is addictive, a shower gel and some incense that clings to his all of his clothes. His arm brushes against yours when he sets a hot tea down and plucks his own fortune cookie from the middle of the table.
"What about you, Lee?" Donnie asks, finally having set the tablet down to rip an egg roll in half. Your eyes jump to look at him and you startled to realize he's looking directly at you rather than his brother.
"What about what?" You can't even look at Leo, your fingers tug open the plastic wrapper.
"You gotta type?" Mikey nudges. April, ever the nosey little sister, leans over to look.
"Like in people?" Raph hums an affirmative.
Leo's quiet, painfully so, his big thumbs delicately cracking open his cookie, pulling the paper slip from it's shell. You can see in the corner of your eye that he reads it before wadding it up between his fingers. You crack open your own, forgoing the snack for the fortune. The lucky numbers are face up, you flip the paper over.
"Mm, I'm not gonna say I'm particularly looking right now."
It's blank.
