The crisp air caught Sue Snell by surprise as she opened her front door the morning of November 1st. She pulled her mustard colored trench coat closer to her thin frame, as the wind continuously blew her long red-hair in different directions. For a split second she contemplated skipping school, but quickly realized that wasn’t a good option for her senior year. The redhead gently closed the door behind her, and made her way down the front porch steps. The street was covered with rotting carved pumpkins from the previous night’s festivities. Parents were already busy pulling fake cobwebs out of trees and putting away other Halloween decorations for the following year. The month of October felt like a blur, it didn’t seem possible that it was already over. Like most teens, October meant the month of ‘Pumpkin Spice’- a flavor that Sue loved. She made a mental note to make a quick trip toStarbucks during her lunch break.
