"It’s still helpful that you’re cooperatin’."

"I want to get out of here just as much as you do. Mainly after this whole Ending thing."

"It can’t be impossible. There has to be some way!”

"I'm sure there is! But I'm afraid the time we'd spent working on it would  be longer than the one we've got."

"Uh, no reason. Just curious."

"Yeah, I probably am. Would you mind if I go now? I'm kinda busy, you know."

'No way out?…” She spoke, weakness peaking through her voice. 

"I—I asked you if you were free later on. Problem?"

"Yeah, probably. Why do you wanna know that anyway?"

"Well, I wasn’t implyin’ that we were just gonna go bloody jump in the hole and wing it. I ain’t that shuckin’ stupid, Tommy. That’s why I’m sendin’ ya’ in to check it out," he says casually, nodding at him quietly. He contemplates on their situation again for a moment, taking in the details. The second in command knows that it’s probably greatly dangerous to even risk this, the Grievers possibly being there, the sorts. He doesn’t really want to send them too close to look either, but the Gladers have to make some sort of progress. "Thanks, Tommy."

"Well, either way, me and Minho are doing our best to figure it out, it might not take a long while. We sort of know where the portal thing is. It's very small, though, but I think we can go through with no bigger problems." This time Thomas wasn't just being optimistc. Even though him and Minho weren't sure about that, Thomas knew it was possible. He simply did. "You don't have to thank me, we're all in this together."

"You keep saying that, but we’ve been wandering around for the past three hours and we haven’t found a way out yet."

"Yes, and our chances to find any will be even smaller if we sit on the corner and cry saying that we're gonna die, so let's just keep moving, alright?"

"What’re ya tryna say?!"

"That we're stuck here. No way out. I don't think anything else to say."

—"You crack me up, Tommy boy. Now get your butt moving or I’m leaving your sorry shuckface here."

"Fine, let's just go, then. It's not my fault you don't stop talking for one second."
