the lanky silver haired girl let out a soft sigh, her fingers tangling into her lustrous locks in an attempt to remove them from her face. she seemed nervous, her neon green chucks tapping against the floor as she avoided eye contact. after a moment of hesitation she cleared her throat and her airy voice could be heard, albeit a bit soft and shaky.

i'm not really new to korea, per se, but i've spent the last few months trying to adjust. you see, i'm american born and raised and this whole experience has been a bit of a culture shock. i'm afraid that leaves me without any friends..... or much of anything, really and i'd like to fix that.

a small ding alerted the people in the store to a new arrival, though anyone who frequented the shop didn't exactly need the bell to know that, like always, subin had arrived right as she did, exactly on time, every day. the lanky girl with the muted silver hair that sported deep purple tips was a strange one; one who rarely spoke without being spoken to first but  was welcomed at the shop. her affinity for pianos had surprised the shop keeper and when he saw how handy she was at keeping them tuned, he had struck a deal with the girl. as long as she kept them in good working order, she could come and use them whenever she needed, since she hardly had the money to afford one of her own. even the shop keep had to admit her talent was incredible and needed an outlet.

she greeted him with the same curt nod she always had, setting her mossy green messenger bag behind the counter without a word. it took her no time to find the largest of the pianos, a beautiful mahogany grand piano that was likely worth more than she would ever be. sliding onto the bench, she tied her hair into a messy bun, strands of purple creeping their way out. a rare and genuine smile found its way to her face as her fingers lightly flitted over the ivory and black keys. in mere minutes she had set to work and was taking the piano for a test run, her fingers dancing over the keys to play a tune she had loved from the moment she had heard it; Who's Gonna Save My Soul by Gnarls Barkley.

as her fingers became more uncomfortable with the melody the lyrics began to escape her lips. faintly, but still there.
