Who says copying is being unoriginal? Pffft. I think it's being smart. That's exactly what I did with this outfit. I straight up copied an outfit I saw on a girl months ago. It was pure genius, so I went for it.
I had been looking everywhere for a peplum top with a modern twist for the longest time and when I came across this little pretty thing on ModCloth, I was sold. It's so cute and there's something about it that just makes me feel very 70's, yet modern. The pants, well, any pair of coral pants are either a hit and miss kind of thing, but I like to think these are more of a hit than a miss.
Oh. PS. My bad for the extremely awful quality; it was starting to get kind of dark, and since all my pictures are taken with my iPhone, the quality isn't all that great. Feel free to donate some cash for the cause.

Our October Color Palette
Utterly feminine shades reminiscent of chic makeup palettes make up our October collection. We fell in love with soft hues like tender blush, parlor rose, palomino, and vanilla creme.
Coming across this color palette has seriously been the best thing that's ever happened to me, besides getting into nursing school. And you know, having an awesome boyfriend. BUT ANYWAY, seriously, I'm going to use this every day of fall, and heck, even winter.
I'm particularly crazy about the vintage wine, the burnt sugar, and the saddleback!

I'm baaaaaaack.
Necklace: Manju's; Button up: Gap; Pants: F21, AMAZING SHOES: Wild Pair for Bakers; Clutch: American Apparel
There is so much about this outfit that I could write a book about it, but I won't. First off, HI! I've been MIA for quite a while now. I bet I was missed. Yeah? Maybe? No? Oooookay. Anyway, I've been swamped with school and I started clinicals last week so I never have time to do anything, and when I actually find free time, I sleep.
About this outfit, I've had this button up in my closet for quite a while and didn't really know what to pair it with, so I just went with dark jeggings. Yes, I wear jeggings, and if I could I'd also wear pajama jeans. Leave me alone. This top is so soft and so comfortable; it's one of my favorites specially because it was only $15 at Gap. What I really want to talk about is my shoes. They're my new babies and trust me, I don't think I've ever loved a pair of shoes as much as I love these. It was love at first sight. They're super comfortable too.
To wrap things up, I apologize for being so lame and not posting in a long time. I'll try to sleep less and post more. Deal? Deal. :)

This is the most beautiful picture I have seen in a while. One day I'll be able to afford an Oscar de la Renta dress. I believe in dreams, and miracles.
Btw, this picture totally makes up for the lack of posts. And hey, it's not my laziness getting in the way this time; school takes up 167 out of the 168 hours of my week, so excuse me while I just repost beautiful shots like this one. :)

Hall of Fame
Dress: F21 (similar dress); Necklace: H&M; Crossbody: Target; Wedges: Dots (similar wedges)
Who doesn't like old stuff? Everyone does! Specially those items that are hidden underneath piles and piles of clothes in your closet! Those items that when you find, it's like you've just won a million dollars. That's how this dress makes me feel. Honestly, I can't remember when I got this. In fact, this is the first time I wear this dress yet I consider it an oldie, because well, it's obvs old but it's still cute. The royal blue was screaming at me telling me to wear it and well I can't say no to cute flowers and royal blue.
It's such a timeless dress also; I can't wait to pair it up with maroon tights and my camel riding boots along with a mustard cardigan and a cute neutral scarf, and poof! there's a fall outfit. I'm not letting this baby hide underneath piles and piles of clothes anymore. This is officially my Hall of Fame dress #1. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say this is my Hall of Fame dress #1, take a look at What I Wore's Hall of Fame dresses. Basically it's those items that have that classic, timeless look, that no matter how old they are, they're still stylish and make you feel like you're worth a million bucks.

I'm sleep deprived, y'all. Nursing school is no joke. think I've gotten probably a combined amount of 15 hours of sleep this week. THAT'S ALMOST NO SLEEP. I'm used to 30-40 hours of sleep per week :( It's okay. I'll survive and in two years, you can come to me with your illnesses and I'll take care of you.
Again, because I've been so busy and my photographer lives three hours away, this is an old outfit that I've kind of kept as a back up outfit if all else fails, which it did. But hey! At least I was prepared. This dress is so cute but it's also so short! I don't know how much that bothers me though. I think the stripes make up for it, and I'm also 5'0 so then I guess it works.
I'm slowly transitioning into fall colors! I'm in love with cream and black stripes. Heck, I'm just in love with stripes, period. :)

I'm full of excuses, seriously, but I promise this is as legit as an excuse will ever get. I've gone four days without an outfit post. FOUR. Maybe even more. That's a lot of days, and guess what? I've been reading and studying my life away. It's the first week of school and I'm already as busy as it gets so it's really difficult to find time to 1. get dressed up, and 2. take daily pictures. But hey! because I love the few of you that actually read my blog, I found time to take these. It's not what I'm wearing today, although I am wearing the same shorts and a striped tee, just because I love how they clash together.
I named this post "Favorites" because pretty much everything on this outfit is on my "faves list" (Yes, I have a list of favorite items; jk I don't) I love how the forest green of my shorts contrasts with both my fair skin and the nude of the top.
And of course, my favorite sandals. I just can't take them off. They're so cute and comfy. :)
Until next time! ...which I really don't know when it'll be.

Technical Difficulties

I have quite a few things to apologize for. Seriously. Number one, I am so sorry I completely skipped out on posting a daily outfit yesterday but I just got my internet to work after being on hold for almost an hour. At least it's up and running! Yay me!
Second, this outfit is just not working for me. I love this cherry red skirt, it's flowy and comfortable but just not with this top. Let's just say I love both pieces so much, just not together. Get it? No? Oh well.
I do have to kind of warn you guys that it's ten times harder for me to keep up with this blog because one, my photographer lives three hours away, and two, I'm officially a nursing school student - and guess what? My first day of school is tomorrow and I already have 5 chapters to read, so please bare with me. I promise I'll try my hardest to keep this updated, but when I don't, just assume I'm reading my life away.
XOXO,

The Day Before the Last Day
Blazer/cardigan: Urban Outfitters; Dress: ModCloth; Belt: F21; Purse: Coach; Sandals: American Eagle; Shades: F21; Jewerly: thrifted necklace; necklace from Jess LC, watch from F21
I can't even begin to explain how freaking eventful today was. Actually, I can so let me begin. You are welcomed to stop reading anytime. I wouldn't hold it against you, or maybe I will, but you'll never know.
Today was my last full day in Dallas so I had tons of errands to run and a whole lot of shopping to do. First of all, I went to the grand opening of H&M and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. Except for the fact that my friends and I had to stand in line for almost two hours, but it was worth it. So, soooo worth it. After getting a little bit of shopping done at the mall, I grabbed lunch with a few friends, and moved on to the boring part of my day which was school supply shopping. Gross. But anyway, I had dinner with my boy for the last time in Dallas, and went home to pack. It was a busy day, my friends, and even though I opted for sandals instead of wedges, my feet are killing me.
About my outfit, I know I've been wearing lots of stripes this week but I just can't help it. I'm not planning it or anything, it just happens. I love how comfortable and cute this dress is and how versatile it can be.
Next time you guys hear from me I'll be in Corpus Christi! Wooo!...not. :)
XOXO,
DS

Olive, Leopard, & Stripes
Top: Zara; Belt: Target; Pants: Urban Outfitters; Sandals: Steve Madden; Purse: Coach; Shades: F21; Jewelry: F21 watch, Jess LC necklace
Wanna know something funny? I wore an olive blouse paired with a leopard skirt just a few days ago, the next day I wore a leopard tee with striped shorts, and today I wore olive pants, a striped top. and leopard print sandals. See the pattern? Coincidence? I think not. I think my closet is trying to tell me something; I just can't quite figure out what it is that it's trying to say. Mmmm sketchy.
Anyways! I felt like dressing down today, even if that sounds weird and awful. I just didn't feel like putting effort in my outfit. Lately I feel I'm getting dressed just to have a fashion-forward outfit to blog about, and I've kind of lost the main reason why I started blogging - which was to express myself and improve my confidence, as well as have a little fun. So, as an attempt to get back to where I was when I started this (which wasn't too long ago), I decided to wear whatever I wanted and the first that I saw in my closet, so pants and stripes were the way to go.
At the end of the day, it's about staying true to myself instead of putting so much focus and effort on my outfits that I forget why I started this.
XOXO,
-DS
Deep Ellum
Top - F21 Necklace - F21 Shorts - Urban Outfitters Sandals - American Eagle Purse - On a permanent loan from my best friend Shades - F21
I like animal prints. I really, really, like them. Specially leopard print. Hence why I've worn leopard print twice this week. I don't know, there's something about it that makes me feel edgy and fun and I like that. I like how easy it is to mix it also. No matter what you wear, unless you're wearing like clown pants or something weird, it's fairly easy to play with this kind of print, and I like how little effort I have to put in my outfits when there's leopards involved (of course, I mean leopard print).
I'm slowly transitioning into fall, even if that means knitted shorts. They're still knitted, right? Which obvs screams out fall. At least in my book it does. (Yes, I have a book in which clothes scream out stuff)
The title of this post is pretty self-explanatory. I took a wittle adventure into Deep Ellum in Dallas with my boy and I had fun. We got lost a million times but that's what's fun about it. It was unplanned and cute, just like this background. It's my last week in Dallas, so I'm all up for adventures. Specially cute ones.
XOXO,
-DS
