my final intro! here’s steve harrington, i hope you love him.
Steve grew up rich, he grew up privileged and was given everything he wanted at a moments notice. He never wanted for anything, he was spoiled, and Steve knew that very well. Compared to his friends, to the rest of Hawkins almost he was much better off then they were.
One thing he never really had were his parents or their affection. He was very young when they first started leaving him with babysitters or even by himself. They were busy people who he didn’t think ever even wanted a child. They made Christmas and birthdays great with presents, but he never really had the ‘family’ time of those holidays. They were always hands-off parents, buy his love kind of parents.
School was hard for Steve but he was always popular, attractive and good at sports. Because of these he passed his classes, sometimes with the help of teachers bumping up his grades. It took him a long time to even care about his grades. He was just better at other things; he was passing so it didn’t matter what really happened.
Admittedly Steve was a bit of a bully as a teenager. In his mind he was better than everyone else. He was more attractive, better at sports, he was rich. In his mind he had everything he could want. He got used to not having parents around so he filled that empty space with parties, with hook ups, with anything that could make him feel something.
For almost as long as he could remember there was the strange Hawkins Lab on the outskirts of town. He didn’t care about what happened there, it had nothing to do with him, he didn’t care about conspiracy theories or anything like that, it was just some dumb building that they did science in. Until it wasn’t.
Will Byers went missing, his eventual ex-girlfriends brother and his friends started acting weird. Then she started acting weird. Steve wasn’t sure what was happening until he was shoved face first in the line of a monster.
After that situation things changed for him, he had someone who cared for him, he ended up having people who depended on him, even if they didn’t want to admit it. He started trying to focus on school and trying to fight the monsters that now lived in the forest outside of Hawkins.
There wasn’t ever any getting rid of the monsters, the human ones or the actual monster kind. All they could do in Hawkins was fight them. Try to keep their friends and themselves alive. Silent saviors of the world.
After graduation he tried to move on from that, his parents suddenly deciding that they cared about what he did. He was cut off from his inheritance until he was able to keep a job, because he didn’t get into any colleges. It was time for him to become an adult in their eyes.
The idea that he could be normal with that was shut down by literal Russian spies. He was put in the path of monsters and human monsters. This time the defeat was harder. They lost people, this time. People left when it was over. Steve decided he needed to leave to.
Steve wasn’t alone long, when Castle Rock called to him, it apparently called to others too. He hasn’t seen the kids for a while but he’s beyond happy to be seeing them and everyone else he knew again.
MORE
He’s bisexual, as I said with Stan idk what a straight character is.
Vain boy. No matter how old he looks he cares about how he looks. He’s always going to be vain because he knows he looks good and that’s what matters to him.
He hopes he’s away from the monsters, he suffers from minor PTSD. He’s stil always ready to put himself in danger for other people, even if he doesn’t really know them.
