With less than a week before school starts i finally found some time to start covering my books and get some more stationery from a local store. 

For the first time i actually feel well prepared which really motivates me, let’s hope i can keep it this way.

We’re sorry for neglecting our studyblr. We think it’s because of the schedule we have: now we MUST post on that day and you can’t post on another day. But we think a studyblr should post whenever he/she/they wants to. So we’re not doing the whole schedule thing anymore :3

So I have my own way of editing pictures and I thought I’d share :D In this tutorial I’ll be using the pictures from this post.

I’m going to be using Photoshop CS5, but I think you can follow along just fine with another program.

In this tutorial, I’m going to edit more than one picture at the same time. I have a handy trick for importing multiple pictures. Go to File -> Scripts -> Load Files into Stack.

So now just click Browse and pick the pictures you want. I’ve selected quite a few. Click OK when you’re ready!

As you can see, I imported 7 pictures, but I’m not planning on using all of them. I narrowed it down to 4 pictures.

I like to give every picture a folder, for organisation. It’ll probably look like this:

Okay so this is really great: adjustement layers. I’m going to remove the yellow tone now, I do this by clicking “Selective Color” and after that you’ll want to make another adjustement layer with “Color Balance”

Just play around a bit until you get the result you want. Here is my before and after:

For some reason, my pictures always have noise/grain. I really don’t like it, so I just denoise it a lot. Go to Filter -> Noise -> Reduce Noise

These are my settings. It will kill details, but make it oh so smooth!

So now just do this with every picture. You can do this with a handy shortcut:

Okay so what I’m going to do now is really great, I learned this trick from the simblr community. First, you’ll want to duplicate your picture.

Go to Filter -> Stylize -> Emboss

Here are my settings. It looks weird now, but it will look better soon.

Now choose Overlay for the layer you just ‘embossed’.

Et voilà! Your picture is sharper now, and it’s not unnatural. It’s not that noticeable though, but for me it just.. works. Now duplicate all the layers and emboss them with the shortcut. Don’t forget to put ‘em on ‘Overlay’!
