Music is so good, I can't believe there people in this world who want to be in music subcultures without listening to music

Also the last time I talked about 4chan and the prevalence of laughing about having a Nazi phase amongst white queers i got some insane manifestos calling me a transmisogynist which is like can you hear yourself right now do you think 1. ignoring the entire existence of non white trans women and 2. Associating online neo nazis with trans women by default is not insanely transmisogynistic in itself

I talk about it a fair amount but i really, really do not fuck with this whole thing where everyone is trying to pretend they're 14 years old again by reviving the worst parts of recession-era fashion and music and media and internet culture and acting like it's somehow a revolutionary act of self-love to regress to the most conservative period in this millennium. It comes in lockstep with the return of the casual "retard," which I find really interesting as well, and the general shattering of progressive coalitions, with the broader trend appearing to be further isolation and insularity and focusing chiefly on this self-soothing impulse above most other things. But most of all I think these are heads of a hydra which either sits with or whose body itself is the fact that people are being made so incredibly fragile and incapable of tolerating disagreement or discomfort, needing to find justifications to act like they are, in fact, 14 years old again, and can be for the rest of their lives. I sorta think social media is doing it, the ability and at times compulsion to control and filter every piece of information that you interact with. And I think it leads to this impulse to smash things that threaten the bubble, leads to hostility, erodes the ability to reconcile even petty differences. Like somebody disliking your cartoon, so you call them fat and retarded.
