<p>Just to show you the variety of noodle dishes available to you in Thailand. Introducing the “boat” noodle. I’ll go into more detail about the history of the boat noodle later, but this is a noodle dish that has been spiced up and flavoured in its own unique style, unlike the “tomyum noodle” or the other “egg noodle” dishes I have previously posted. Normally it will be served moderately spicy because the sauce has usually been prepared before hand, however, it may be possible to request a non-spicy serving, but then, it wouldn’t be a “boat noodle”. </p> <p>The usual and commonly preferred noodles to have with this dish are the thin, small, and large rice (white) noodles, or the vermicelli (my noodle of choice).</p> <p>This particular place we visited on this occasion was a trial visit, as we are always on the lookout for new and tasty noodle places around our area. The taste is only moderately yummy, nothing special, but they do serve a number of other dishes as well, so if you’re looking for a place with variety, this could be a nice place for a group of people or for people looking to try an assortment of dishes in one sitting.</p> <p>The skewers of meat (pork) balls with sweet chilli sauce was actually good, the side serving of assorted broiled pork delicacies was also not that bad, especially when dipped in the interesting-looking brown sauce. The infamous som-tum or traditional Thai papaya dish is also available, or other variations, such as mixed fruits salad or mango salad. Not to mention a large selection of pre-made curries and stir-fries that are on display in a glass enclosed case, to be ladled atop a dish of plain white rice at your command. </p>  <p>Happy dining!</p>

<p>This Chinese place has been around since I was a youngster, way back when there were only so many actual Chinese restaurants around! It was nice to revisit after so many years. The food is still topnotch for these parts, but of course, with so many other options available in town now, they may have paled in comparison. </p> <p>Stil, definitely an authentic place for Chinese food if you’re in the old part of town, near the Night Bazaar (Chang Klan road).</p>

This is our go-to place in the evenings when we’re looking for a quick and easy - yet tasty - meal on our way home. Simple, comfort food. Rice is 1THB per bowl, and all other dishes are relatively inexpensive, covering almost anything, from stir-fries to deep fries, to steamed or broiled items or soups. One can always be sure to have quite a large selection of items to choose from, spicy or not, but greasy - most definitely greasy. P.S. This dish of deep fried pork intestines was the crispiest I have ever had anywhere! Just saying - in case you’re into that sort of thing.

I like to think of this beautiful tradition as the Thai Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!
