Hello! For those of you wanting to be in the know, I’ve decided to move on from “Studio JFISH” as my universal moniker. It’s been my username on everything, my publishing catch-all, my identity for many years.

Over the last couple years it’s felt less relevant to me. In searching for a new moniker I’ve turned to the title of one of my earlier zines, “Burgermancer”. It feels like a very natural, comfortable fit, and so I’ve made changes throughout and crafted a new website! Here’s where you can find me:

I have a couple exciting announcements to make! First, I’ve reprinted my horror comic NIGHTMARE with a new cover, larger format size of 9x6″ and longer page count! I took the original comic and broke out the panels, giving the story more room to breathe.

Head Lopper pin-up!

I've been enjoying Andrew MacLean's Head Lopper, especially the premiere of season 2, issue #5, in which we're introduced to one of the new big bads BERSERKR! In case you aren't yet familiar, that's the metal giant front and center being dealt blows from Norgal above and Zhaania Kota Ka on the right. Currently the mains are all navigating the deadly Crimson Tower, where BERSERKR and its fellow villain Ulrich the Twice Damned (top left) reside.

As I attempt to navigate writing and storyboarding my adventure comic, Head Lopper offers much inspiration and lessons to absorb. Andrew's art is fluid and stylish, especially in those action packed scenes of great movement. His designs are fantastic! Obviously BERSERKR really grabbed my attention!

Terra Flats #2 “My Neighbor Ponietta” premieres in comic shops December 28th! (two days before my birthday!) Here’s a preview of the issue, in which Pony and Vee do some packing (and Pony helps Vee do some unloading) for their big move to a new apartment!

Terra Flats #1, my new 22 page comic about two friends living in the big city, premiers April 7th at Emerald City Comicon at Press Gang tables M15+16!

The premiere issue of Terra Flats, “Hex In The City”, introduces the captivating Vee and her best friend Pony, a sweet and powerful demon. When Drake the vampire and Komo the dragon compete for Vee's affections, spells and sparks start to fly! Romance meets magic in this enchanting new series about living and working in the big city!

Seconds Helping is my new memoir comic about working as a drawing assistant to Bryan Lee O'Malley on his newest graphic novel, Seconds. After working remotely on the book for 4 months we still had 200 pages left to ink with only 5 weeks left till deadline! This comic centers around those final 5 weeks when we lived and worked together to finish the book. 

Seconds Helping premiered April 19th at LineworkNW with great success... it sold out! I'm reprinting more copies now.

"Safe Journey", my newest illustration, is complete and available to view tonight, January 29th, at Screaming Sky Gallery as part of the Pastel Quest group show.
