The Perfect Profile
Good morning.
One of the many wonders of Yellowstone, a national park maintained and paid for by all of you. What a great investment.

Lone Mountain is the iconic symbol of Big Sky. The stunning 360-degree view from its summit offers sights of the Spanish Peaks, the Madison Valley, and, on a clear day, even the Teton Mountains. Suburban wildlife is so much fun. Take, for example, this fledgling Mockingbird.

Suburban wildlife is quite wild. I have a retaining pond along our backyard fence. The pond is next to a busy road and would be the last place you'd expect wildlife to thrive, but it does. This bullfrog is an example of the amazing creatures in the natural world that surround us every day. The bullfrog suddenly appeared out of nowhere, just staring at me as I took a photo of it floating in the water. The photo was edited in Lightroom. I made the frog stand out more by dehazing the image, adjusting the exposure, sharpening the frog’s face, and adding a touch of color. I enjoy the editing process nearly as much as taking the picture. This bullfrog is a lot of fun!

I was at a friend’s house in Nashville, Tennessee. As I was walking through the front door after taking my dog Bentley for a night walk, a “friend” greeted me. I took this photograph with my iPhone 16 Pro Max (my camera isn't with me). The iPhone's native photography software and hardware are quite good; it’s a great tool for practicing photography, including using its macro feature, which I used to take this photo in low light conditions.
Snapshot of a Rabbit
I was walking Bentley, my Sealyham Terrier, when a rabbit suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I decided to see what I could do to capture a good image with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and its built-in camera.Â
The sun was bright, and I stood in direct sunlight while facing the rabbit in the shade. I focused on the rabbit, and using the zoom (347Â mm Ć’2.8 1/351 sec), I captured this shot.
What I like is the ability to take quick snapshots. What I do not like is that using zoom on the iPhone can cause a loss of resolution and detail.
In any event, the iPhone has a role and utility in photography particularly when walking your dog.
