On Wednesday I walked 2 miles. Today I did it again. When I was at my sickest, six years ago now, I was crawling to the bathroom because I couldn't stand. It was only last fall that I was able to begin regularly going for walks outside again. When I first started I would walk two telephone poles down the road and turn around. Now I can walk two miles. Sometimes when I'm talking to my sister I feel such a desperation to be like do you remember that it was me who packed your lunches for kindergarten, who put calamine lotion on your bug bites, who you'd wake up at night when you couldn't sleep, not mom and dad, me, do you remember that?
It doesn't feel right to ask her that at this stage of reconnecting, so I don't. But god it tears me up to wonder if maybe she doesn't remember me that way, maybe my parents did that stuff too sometimes and she remembers that more, she was so young when I left, maybe she only remembers me leaving.
I feel guilty that I have this desire for her to tell me she knows I loved and took care of her as hard as I could for as long as I could, it seems so unfair to want or god forbid ask that from her after everything. So unfair to want her to tell me I did a good job when I know she deserved more

Hi, everyone. My mother wants to open a boarding house for vulnerable/unhoused women in our Charlotte community as there is a great lack of accessible care for women in this city. Here's the gist:
The DOT House was born from a desire to make a difference where our world has too often failed vulnerable women. Our mission is to provide hope, housing, and supportive services to women experiencing homelessness, hardship, and life transitions throughout the Charlotte community.
Although we are in our founding stages, we believe that helping women cannot wait. Every woman deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to rebuild her life.
What We Are Raising Funds For
Your generosity will help us begin serving women immediately by providing:
Emergency hotel stays for women and mothers in crisis
Hygiene and self-care kits
Food and grocery assistance
Gift cards for essential needs
