my mom is stunning, inside and out. some folks would balk at living with their mother at the age of almost-31 and i did, at first, back when i was a bit younger. but now i wouldn’t change it for anything. we are best friends in such a powerful way and getting to see her grow into continued adulthood and find so much strength, grace, and resilience is something i feel grateful for every day. i love that we love (most) of the same things. i love that we spend literal days digging in the dirt together. i love the things she teaches me about myself, and i love getting to help her learn new things about herself. we wrestle with the world as a team and that’s all a mom really needs to be for you. outside of that, for my whole life i’ve watched her take in so many of my friends with warmth and kindness, parenting them and loving them, too, if they need it. no one would argue that my mom isn’t wonderful. she is beloved by every person who meets her. and i am beyond blessed to have a parent like her. i will celebrate her always, in every way i can. #happymothersday❤️ (photo cropped from a pic by my aunt kathy some time in the ‘90s and recently rediscovered) https://www.instagram.com/p/CABNlhjJovi/?igshid=1s03jhxofnd2u
