one of the most annoying things about being sick is when you’re all stuffed up and can’t breathe through your nose so any time you eat something you have to gasp for breath after every bite. you’d think i’d just surfaced from a free dive but no. chicken nugget.

Idk what person with chronic illness needs to hear this, but you can do things to make your responsibilities nicer for yourself. You can get an ice cream after a blood draw. You can sit down for tv time after an injection. You can pick out the bandaids that have cartoon characters on them instead of the plain ones. Being an adult doesn’t stop you from benefiting from encouragement. Go for whatever fits with your routine/abilities/budget and makes life a little better. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down etc etc

Would appreciate prayers. I think I have a virus on top of my chronic illness. I ended up crying myself to sleep last night because of the pain. Today is no better

being an adult is just dragging urself kicking and screaming to things that you will enjoy and that will be good for you

clenching my teeth and muttering under my breath "you'll be happy you did it you'll be happy you did it you'll be happy you did it" as I physically force myself out the door to go Do Things

being very firm with myself every time I think about bailing and saying "no. you committed to this. it will improve your quality of life. you will enjoy it. now put on your big boy pants and go."

i honestly don't really understand why "some people prefer watching gameplay online rather than playing games themselves" is treated as such a taboo when being a spectator is considered a pretty mundane way to engage with most sports, game shows, reality tv or even just like. chess.
