Sooo I am slowly getting back to doing a few figure drawings, bc sometimes I forget how body shapes are supposed to work?? 😭
Every time I drop and pick up art again, it feels a bit daunting and frustrating at first until you get the hang of things! Though I think it’s a bit nice to just practice figures without any worries!! I hope this is a year I’ll get to draw a lot :D

Sometimes I forget how planning a story comforts me a lot!
Though I rarely write them down, whenever I am fixated on picking up something from the back of my mind, I feel so immersed in the world. The characters’ lives, their memories, and so forth feel so clear!! I hope one day I can write them down somewhere.

characters whose both greatest weakness and greatest strength are their compassion and unwavering faith in humanity
Honestly, I really enjoy reading about Huldufólk in Icelandic folklore and the development of how Yokai were perceived in Japan!
For Yokai: How at the beginning, they were mostly scary creatures but evolved over time to include daily objects and even a handful of cute beings etc. The story of a lot of Yokai demons range anywhere from silly to fortune-bringing to ghostly terrifying. One I find interesting: Zashiki Warashi, often the tales of why things go randomly missing in one’s home. They’re a playful pair of prankster twins messing with you — but in turn, provide good luck. And another one, commonly referenced: Yurei, the ghost of a deceased woman. The imagery of long black hair from before a burial, entirely pale, white robe all the way down, and the horror element is quite something.
Huldufólk stories on the other hand are so whimsical and fun all-around! Simply about invisible creatures who look + live a lot like humans — yet are generally unseen to your everyday person. Especially the tales that say if you see a rock in Iceland, to leave it alone, as it may be a Huldufólk’s home.
Edit: I also remember seeing somewhere that Huldufólk appear in Faroese lore too! I haven’t read about the Faroe Island side of things versus the Icelandic, so I may have to look into it!!
So many different lores are very interesting and pretty good inspiration for storytelling too!
