It's been years by now an I still mostly see maribat stories(excluding one shots) revolving around Lila and class salt(and please, that girl doesn't deserve all this attention). And I like a good salt story as much as the next person, but if i see anymore I might get kidney stone.

MLB and DC crossovers have SO much potential- even when limited to gotham. Stories like Nightingale Adrift by Packetdancer is a great example of this, bringing a unique spin on common tropes making it refreshing. There are so many ways that these tropes can be used and so simple to just figure out answers to why they happen in the first place.

Why is the class going to the Crime Capital of the world in the first place? Give me Damocles and/or the school board messing with the school trip funds, changing the class destination from somewhere safer to Gotham because it was cheaper, leaving them with trying to find accommodations and things. Why was Marinette and Co.(bonus points if it is Chloe-who argues and complains like season one Chloe - and another poor soul) stranded in the airport? The tour guide Madame Bustier hurriedly hired was incompetent and didn't care to do a headcount. So now they have to hurry to the hotel that the class is booking, leaving room for a number of shenanigans.

And this is just with Batman crossovers. I haven't seen any significant number of stuff from other comics or shows despite some connections existing if you look(Diana's mother being a former ladybug. Atlantis having been sunk by Plagg).
