The neighbourhood includes 11 mostly unrelated households, each with a family album and bios (no scripted events).

The families

Tian household

consisting of the Emperor, his advisor, and his newly adopted son

Suggested scenario: Have the Emperor adopt one more child. Note: this is meant to be done without any sort of adoption mod; there is a toddler waiting in the adoption pool.

Sun household

consisting of 3 roommates and the child of one of them

This house can be played as a ticket machine home business, but it doesn't have to be. The idea is that it's a mahjong parlor/hostess business, where customers pay to spend time with the hostesses, playing mahjong.

Pan household

consisting of an adult spy and his apprentice

Think John Mole, but with an apprentice who helps him gather intel at the local school.

Sima household

consisting of a married couple and their sons

Think the Grunts, but Lyla is alive, and the to-be-general is still climbing the ranks of the Military career. Suggested scenario: Have the husband try to repair his relationship with his wife. If you use ACR, you can easily mend it, but otherwise they should fall out of love.

Xi household

consisting of a single mother and her rebellious daughter

An aspiring scientist is disappointed in her daughter, who is not as serious as she would like. While she has her daughter's best interest at heart, her good intentions don't always translate into the kindest actions.

Chao household

consisting of a single father and his sons

The town's folk healer hopes one of his sons will agree to take over the clinic and continue the fight against plagues. He hopes they will not only work in the Medicine career, but also use traditional remedies, like herbs, grandma's comfort soup and acupressure.

Qiu household

consisting of a broke teenager

I suggest playing this household as a home business selling produce. If that's not for you, find any other way to pay the bills and keep the house safe from the Repo Man!

Ning household

consisting of a father and his son

The Ning patriarch is preparing for his final journey. Perhaps he can witness his son's betrothal and wedding ceremony, before his departure?

The Gilberts and the Thorntons

These households were inspired by 'mistakes'? in Maxis lore, specifically the Bell family, where teenagers didn't end up with their childhood sweethearts. One couple seems happy and is considering starting a family, while the other couple 'settled' for each other and may not be fully content.

The Wizard

This household serves to explain why the 'mainland' is empty and why everyone else moved to the island. The wizard was also the first sim created in this hood, so he will be the 'shoving' sim. Unfortunately, because he's a wizard, he will not shove your sims, but he will simply fly away.

Technical information and mod suggestions:

To play this neighbourhood, place the whole VERS folder in Documents > EA Games > The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection > Neighborhoods folder.

I have been working on this hood since late July (terrain), the buildings were built by October, and the version with service NPC-s was released at the very end of 2025.

Warning: NO GARDEN CLUB members, and NO HOBBY INSTRUCTORS were created by me, so if you want to avoid generating them, ban them with Visitor Controller, or use a mod to disable them, for example this one.

The mods suggested for the previous version of this hood are still recommended.

Additionally, I suggest you get epi's Committed Polyamorous Relationships Without Engagement Requires Steady, if you're interested in the emperor having multiple consorts.

I also strongly recommend getting these Want Trees.

When I created the hood, I used the Shiny Tyme Anywhere Patch. This might mean that the cafeteria worker will spawn at the Imperial Palace, unless you remove the stove and replace it with another one.

This is not required by any means, but I also recommend getting Genetics DIY, Improved Biotech Station, Mean Interactions to Any Age, hacked arch, Crafting Skills and Tweaks mod...

As in the previous versions of the hood, I suggest turning the 4 blue lots into apartments (if you wish to play with apartments). To do so, you need to load the lots and type in changeLotZoning apartmentbase. I still suggest getting a mod like Apartment Residents Mod or similar, if you do play with apartments. Other recommended mods preventing extra sims from spawning: anti-redundancy, No Stray Respawn with Adoptable Puppies/Kittens.

The playables reside in the lots marked orange. There is one more playable household, outside of the island, in the mainland. The pink lots are community lots.

I have an appreciation for Chinese culture, but I don't know much about it, or the Chinese language. I apologize if the names of characters are a bit random. They were found while I was doing my very simple google research. I didn't have anyone who would proofread the hood for me and suggest better names. If you are a speaker of Chinese and you would like to volunteer and help me improve this world, I encourage you to contact me.

The mystery?

I was trying to set up a little mystery, but little came out of it. If you want to learn the mystery, I will spoil it below.

OK, you've been warned, now to the mystery.

Just so you know, you can find small clues regarding the mystery if you use the simDNA cheat. That cheat only works if you have boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true in your Documents > Config > userStartup.cheat file.

I meant the parentage of specific children to be the mystery.

Although the sims in this hood don't have family trees, I made almost all playables in CAS, with parents that never left Create a Sim. However, the process wasn't perfect, because I would merge grandparents' genes with the use of the pacifier to make the 'donor', and I did it 2-3 times, so his genetics were not always the same (multiple families were created separately with a similar donor). I had him create children with a couple of playable ladies.

Can you guess who these ladies were? You can probably guess the 'donor'.

Hi Simmers! This is my second legacy challenge called the Sims Townie Legacy Challenge

The 25th anniversary of the Sims series and the re-release of the Sims and Sims 2 inspired me to create this legacy. Throughout the years the iconic townies and family's lore has made the game so special. With so many timelines for characters such as Bella Goth or the Landgraabs I combined all versions of these Townies for each generation, as well as added some fan favorites from the Sims 3 & 4. sun&moon items in 3 different 4t2 wood textures (30 recolours in total)

so after sharing my 4t2 retextures of the meadhall sets, and then getting this message from anon, i decided to go ahead and do something to similar for a bunch of sun&moon's functional farming stuff 😁

all of the wooden items from their barnyard bash set, which you see most of above, are actually referenced to a wine cask shelf mesh in their wine making set, so you'll need both that wine cask mesh, and then the barnyard bash set itself, in order for these recolours to show up.

these recolours will also show up for some items in the winery set itself too, and maybe even some other sun&moon items as well?? i personally only play with a couple of the sets, so i can't be sure about the others!

i ended up going with 3 different wood textures from the ts4 'horse ranch' pack for these. i've included images of all swatches in the download folder, but the above image of the troughs hopefully shows the differences between each wood texture (for ref, i've named them rustic, plank and natural from l-r).

note: you might notice in these images that i've also made 4t2 retextures of the straw and bird-feed in each of the poultry items. i was originally intending to share these too, but then i realised that would be going against sun&moon's policy as it would require sharing altered versions of those meshes. sorry!! 🙁

Wedding Dress Mannequins

Someone suggested some more wedding mannequins, so here they are! They're from my Ruched Gown and Aphrodite Gown. They come in the original 10 and 6 recolors. Credit also goes to Leh for the mannequin skin.

Family Tree Template by sterina-sims

Here is the template that I use to create my Goodie family tree. This is a .psd file and you need Photoshop to use it.

Things to know:

All images seen are from sims’ memories.

The title on the banner has a space between each letter, and a gap of 3 spaces between each word. 

There are two key containers, a large one and smaller one for you to choose from. 

Get additional icons from @eddysims‘ Icon Pack or via online search.

I use this template in conjunction with my Photoshop action.

This is for those people, like myself, who had issues with reshade appearing in your TS2 game via ‘Direct10/11/12′. You will be downloading a DXVK Binaries folder, adding the d3d9 file to your TSBin and installing Reshade as ‘Vulkan’ instead of Direct3d. With this, you will NOT need Xenos and will be able to start the game as you would TS3 or TS4 where reshade will open on it’s own without an external application.

Tutorial in Screenshots Below

1. Download DXVK Binaries; download the .gz file

2. Unzip it and drag and drop the x32 bit d3d9.dll file into your sims 2 bin folder. Since I have the ultimate collection it’ll be: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin

3. Once you drag and drop the x32 d3d9.dll file into your sims 2 bin, install Reshade 4.6.1 - linked here THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS STEP BY STEP:

When you go to install resahde: - Enable VULKAN. Resahde will ask you to browse for your game in your bin file. Select the Sims2EP9.exe

- It’ll then ask you to choose which API to download resahde under. SELECT DIRECT10/11/12 AND SELECT THE SHADERS YOU WANT. It’ll still read your game as Vulkan because you enabled your game as a vulkan based game. But, to eliminate that glitching in the neighborhood, you’ve selected the API as direct 10 which fixes that issue.

- Install your reshade presets and open up your game and set up your resahde as told through the tutorial!

Hi friends! I made another thing for my medieval game!

I'm always looking for more fun things for my medieval sims to do and I thought that sitting around a table stacking up piles of sticks sounded about right 😂 So I made a medieval friendly default replacement of the Dont Wake the Llama game. This default renames the game to "Sticks and Stones" (thanks to @niamh-sims for that suggestion 😊) and replaces the coloured sticks with actual twiggy looking sticks, the llama with some rocks, and the table with the 9 Archer's Meadhall table. The table mesh is the exact same as the 9AM 1x1 table, and is therefore Repo'd to it. I used Blue Heaven Sims's "Redeemed Set" because I love all the addons and recolours. You MUST have the 1x1 Master table from that link for the table textures to show up, plus you get some lovely recolours!

Now this was made slightly more complicated by the fact that the original CEP included making "Don't Wake the Llama" recolourable. Therefore, to use my default, you must replace your core CEP files with my edited ones. I promise, I have done nothing apart from remove the 2 lines relating to this table. Your CEP will still work! 💗

this is a viking-ified version of @fracturedmoonlight's embroidery hoop, which acts as a default replacement for the handheld game

i only found out this item existed today because of @katatty posting about it, and immediately knew i wanted to add a viking rune design to it. i also changed up the fabric and wood textures whilst i was at it, just to make it look a bit less refined for my viking peasants 😆

Sul Sul!

Today brings a mega collaboration between myself, @tvickiesims, @lamare-sims, @morepopcorn and @platinumaspiration. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that participated as I honestly couldn't have done it without you!

So now to the nitty gritty of the pock;

Collection files included,

Items have been made functional as much as possible, such as deco items to gain different hobby enthusiasm etc.

The playground set, most items are functional, but the tunnel, the tall spiral slide are just deco items. One day I would like to update the meshes with animations converted, but that will come at later update - along with a fully converted Archery board (archery not converted for now)

Majority of items need my Shadow file (included, as always you only need one)

Chimneys; the chimneys can have the smoke turned on or off! But they do have a caveat; it must be placed on roof floor tiles and NOT on the roof itself (otherwise the pie menu disappears and you won’t be able to turn smoke on and off);

MorePopcorn did a default for the bar blender, we thought this was super cool so made this bar use her mesh! Going forward all our bars will use this mesh so its probably a good idea to get it if you do not already! The Rooftop Bar" requires Morepopcorn's blender accessory replacement or it will flash blue, it's included in the "REQUIRED" folder

Fan was coded by lamare, it can be turned on and off to cool sims in the same room. Sims coming up to cool off do it quicker. It also provides a small comfort boost for those who were lacking it.

This Oar That Kayak Shop Sign will glow at night if you install modified StandardMaterial shader by @crispsandkerosene

Toast-Tea Kettle" has two versions in "CHOOSE ONE" folder, be sure to choose only one. One version is a normal one, the second one supports colour traits mod for mugs by @episims.

Intense Build Set (the tent windows and doors, walls floors etc) - So this one was weird, some textures matched and some didn't. It annoyed me, so there are TWO versions to choose from, only have one. Labelled easily, one is basically edited by me to match the walls and floors, and the other is the mismatched EA textures.

There is a folder called "Lot Examples", this includes a lot file so you can see how the playground set can be used, feel free to use this and add stuff to it to make parks etc, I just thought in case you wanted to see how it works since some parts require3-quarter floor level mechanics. (possible with constrainfloorelevation cheat)
