The name Jonathan means 'God has given' while the surname Sims means 'He who hears' and I could write an essay on the importance of the name and how it connects to the plot of tma but I CANT because all Jonny did was PLAGIARIZE his FUCKING BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Pride month is officially over and somehow, the world is worse for it. Two weeks ago someone killed two and injured twenty-one of us in one of the supposedly safest cities in the world. A painful reminder that despite all the progress, we’re never really safe. I remember first reading the article, remember my eyes filling with tears, anger welling up in my throat and deep fear clenching low in my gut. In the national news they call it an act of terrorism and that makes me want to throw up. Because it was, but not primarily. First and foremost, it was a hate crime against queer people and I desperately need them to say the words at least once, to admit to it, out loud and where everyone will hear it. Â
In the US Roe vs. Wade fell and now the community is in panic over what that might mean for our future. Even here, an ocean away, in a country where marriage equality is younger than it is in the US, where socio-cultural change is often heavily influenced by the American trajectory. Afraid of what else they might try to take from us. And as our siblings in the US are advised to have their marriage and adoption paperwork ready, to get in touch with legal council, to rally and to fundraise and to organize resistance, all we can do is watch from the sidelines, paralyzed by abject horror. Certain in our knowledge that they will eventually also come for queer rights, that they’ll go after our families, and even if we do everything necessary to make sure we’re ready, it might not be enough.Â
Earlier in the month, a world-famous Hollywood actress was forced to come out after a newspaper threatened to out her against her will. In the newspaper’s followup article, she was then accused of ungrateful behaviour for spoiling their story. All of this happened in a supposedly liberal country. It seems like we forgot it was only five years ago same sex marriage was legalized in that country at all. Only five years since the right ran a hateful campaign against it. Forgot there’s still countries where they’d happily lock us away, happily execute us. Do you think of my family's blood running down the streets in invisible rivers when you spend your summer vacations comfortably slurping fruity cocktails on their sunny beaches? Do you consider the fact that I can’t go there without fearing for my life before you book your flights? Does it bother you?Â
In this current era of social media those terrible news stories were all over the feeds of the people I follow. All over queer content creators’ channels and my queer friends’ channels, but on none of the straights’. The hateful treatment of Rebel Wilson, the fear for gay rights after the historically horrific supreme court ruling and the shooting in Oslo were issues every gay and trans person I know had heard about but none of the heteros had. Still haven’t, for the most part. The uncomfortable truth is: We don’t get the privilege of ignorance. So we hear and we know and we’re fucking afraid. Afraid for our futures, our bodily integrity, our relationships, our children, our happiness, our lives.Â
Fact is, even after all this time, they’re still after us, still trying to kill us, everywhere, all the time. Fact is I still don’t kiss my girlfriend goodbye and I still brace myself for a fight holding her hand at night and I still pray no one notices I’m neither fully female nor fully male when I make my way home, baseball cap pulled deep into my averted eyes. Every day I get insulted, sexualized, threatened, disrespected, patronized and questioned by everyone from strangers in public bathrooms to my own fucking family. Every day the people who claim to care don’t give a shit. Because when it really comes down to it, does anyone who isn’t one of us ever really stand up for us. Even now we have to protect ourselves. Can’t you see that we’re all struggling for our lives here?Â
How much do you hate me? How little does my life mean to you? Would you grieve, was I shot a day from now? Assaulted? Demeaned? Do you care that I was, I am, every day? What would it do to you if I told you about the time my friend got punched in the face for being out with another man or all the times a girlfriend and I were stalked and leered at and touched and threatened with rape? You claim to love me, yet you watch me die a little every time it happens and claim I’m overreacting, claim I’m greedy. And so I dare you to fire the gun yourself. If you want me gone, shoot me! I can’t get any more afraid, can’t get any more angry, can’t possibly bear any more grief.Â
The newspapers still reporting on the story in Norway keep calling the shooter an „islamist terrorist“. Of course the motive’s not confirmed yet. But while no one seems to be willing to go out on a limp and call it an anti-queer hate crime, they’re all perfectly comfortable throwing around the term „islamist terrorist attack". Why only speculate about the latter? Why not put the possibility out there that it might have been targeted directly at us. To be perfectly honest, I don’t really care about the motive. Religious extremism, right wing nationalism, mental health issues - in the end, no matter the motivation, the story always ends with us dead. And I understand that from some angles the „why“ is extremely relevant. But in this context: Who gives a shit? Someone tried to kill a bunch of queer people. We were the target. Someone wanted us to stop existing, wanted us to live in fear. If that isn’t anti LGBTQ terror, what is?Â
So stop telling me about the shooter’s background, his nationality, his religion! Too many of my supposed bothers and sisters, looking exactly like me, sharing the exact same upbringing, exact same cultural background, have stepped on me, spit on me, beaten me down. The first people to spew hatred against me and my kind were those who sat next to me in the sandbox in kindergarten and on the church pew on Sundays. They knew exactly what they were doing. To them I was an equal, a friend, a human being, until all of a sudden, I wasn’t. Now it’s time to face the music. You never had any qualms denying me my humanity. You planted the seed. You’re the ones killing me, collectively, and I can’t take it anymore. Won’t take it anymore.Â
In the countryside, visiting the village I grew up in, I hold my breath, waiting for the hate crime to happen to me. Waiting for someone to break the scornful silence and shout at me as I walk past, for the sneering pack of teenagers to surround me and push me to the ground while everyone else in this supposed community turns a blind eye.Â
And so I promise to never go back. Just please spare me, please let me live, let me be happy, grant me some semblance of a life worth living!
When I got the news of the attack I sat on my bed, tears streaming down my face, desperately longing for something to break, for something to hold my rage. Today as a lesbian, as a visibly gender nonconforming person, as a non-binary person, I’m so fucking afraid for my life I barely know how to function anymore.
Every year there are hundreds of attacks on us in my country alone, over a hundred of them violent, numbers continually on the rise. Yet the government refuses to even properly count them. We’re invisible because you do not want to see us. Because you do not want to face our pain and your own culpability, the part you continue to play in it. I will. I feel every single one of them. They each rip out a part of myself that’ll never grow back, steadily eating away at my ability to love and hope and trust. I know they’re just a number to you. But to me, these are my brothers and sisters beaten and bruised, my kind murdered. My family committing suicide in terrifying numbers. To me, every single lost soul is personal. So please, if there is any mercy in the world at all, tell me how to save even one of them.
Will you care when it’s me limping home, me running from a threat, me who can’t stop shaking? Do you care that it has been me, has been my friends, has been my lovers? Do you mind that in school they didn’t teach me I had any right to exist? That all the official books either denied our existence or demonized it? That the teaching materials called us slurs? That no one ever intervened in the yard or classroom when we got bullied, got insulted, got ridiculed and excluded and mocked and attacked for who we are? Do you remember our teachers not calling students out on using the word „faggot“? Cause I sure do.Â
Do you remember the girl who lost almost all of her friends after she started dating another girl? Who everyone talked about even though it wasn’t our secret to share? Do you remember the little boy who cried after they kept calling him gay because he liked musicals and nice clothes? The one who transferred because of it? Do you ever wonder why there were zero people who came out voluntarily in a school with eight hundred students? Because I fucking do. It keeps me up at night, trying and failing to make sense of all that useless suffering. And I’m sure they remember it too. This shit stays with you. When all you get is hate and hate and hate, no matter how far you run, those experiences haunt you for life.
You claim to be my friends, yet the only people who ever showed up for me were queer themselves. Do you feel guilty for abandoning me, over and over again?Â
I hope you do! I hope the regret gives you half as much pain as this existence gives me. I’m gay, I’m trans, I’m queer and I do not forgive you.Â

I know this sounds like denial but I have a theory.
At the beginning of season 4 we saw villanelle as jesus.
Next Sunday is the 17th of April whicH is EASTER SUNDAY.
Throughout the entire season and in all the promo they used religious imagery surrounding villanelle.
In the bible, Jesus is resurrected on Easter Sunday after dying for everyone’s sins
Easter Sunday is this Sunday so I have the theory that on Sunday we get an extra surprise ending where villanelle actually faked her death like they did in the books and villanelle and eve will go kill carolyn together. No I will not accept criticism.
Also in the bible Eve is tempted into sin through the Apple which we see a lot of imagery for in season 2. The link between eve being tempted into sin (villanelle, revenge) and villanelle “dying” for sins. Means that villanelle faked her death so her and eve can be free from Carolyn and the remnants of the 12
I also can’t help noticing the parallels between Adam touching the hand of god and eve reaching out for villanelle. The heavy handed religious imagery could be pointing to villanelle’s resurrection (aka fake death)
Okay through discord even more evidence to support The Easter Theory has been found. The plot thickens babies.
Jesus on the cross and villanelle moments before her “death”. The blood stains in villanelles top directly line up with where Jesus was impaled. These direct references between Jesus on the cross where he died before his resurrection and Villanelle moments before her death keep pointing towards Easter Sunday.
Further more, if there was an episode 4x09 it would be the 33rd episode. How old was Jesus when he was resurrected? 33
From the Rotten tomatoes website:
Extra: villanelle was shot in the shoulder like how eve hit Raymond in the shoulder. Getting hit in the shoulder doesn’t kill you. Now I know you’re all thinking that she got shot in other places too and you’re right but I don’t care. I refuse to believe that villanelle is dead. IT IS CANON that eve and villanelle have a cabin is Alaska and villanelle spends most of her time hiding mustard from eve. I’m right okay!
Is it just me or are more people having flashbacks to the end of season four of Sherlock? When we kept watching "Apple Tree Yard" in hopes of a secret fourth episode that we were absolutely sure existed.
I'm not saying I don't desperately wish for this theory to be true. Just that I've been through this before and I don't think I have the strength to do it again.
Honestly, I'm just tired. The finale sucked so bad and Killing Eve for me always was this beacon of hope, the textbook example of the positive evolution of queer representation in media. "Watch Killing Eve!", I'd tell people. "They don't queerbait. They're not afraid to make it canon. This is how it's supposed to be!"
Well, maybe with Phoebe Waller-Bridge that was the case. But in the end, seems like nothing really changed. What a shame that we still have to deal with this, still have to put up with being villainized and killed off and that the message we teach our queer youth remains as it was: You don't deserve happiness.

What time is it? That’s right, time for a new update! Â
Chapter five features lots of exciting developments, personal growth and forged connections. Also, Andy being an all around amazing human being. This is the emotional heart of the story, so don’t miss out on it.Â
I’m looking forward to your comments and hope you enjoy the read!
chapter summary:Â
That night in bed, Miranda cries. Finally mourns the losses that have been tormenting her for over three decades. She cries for Miriam’s suffering and the suffering of those she loved and the life she’ll never get back. Then she lets go. And for the first time since her reinvention, she stops thinking of Miranda and Miriam as two distinctly different people.

It’s update time again :)
With this chapter we cross the halfway mark, Andy is finally back in the game and things are moving forward.Â
Somehow I’m not entirely happy with this update/feel a little disconnecting from it after reading and rereading and editing it so many times. Hopefully the next one will be less of an effort to complete. Â

Soooo, instead of finishing my current WIP (At a Loss for Words) I dove right into a new project. It’s a short one though. The idea has been haunting me for weeks now and the only way to get it out of my system was to write it down. But I do promise that I’ll get around to finishing my other fic soon.
Until then, I hope you enjoy this one. It (once again) focuses on Miranda and while the first chapter is pretty angsty, I swear that there is a happy ending in store for them (one day I’ll manage to write something beautifully heartbreaking but not today).Â

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Hooray, double update! This was an absolute monster of a chapter (8k words) that I originally had no intention of writing and that somehow got completely out of hand. So I cut it in two. I swear these stories have a life of their own sometimes.
Anyway, enjoy chapter two and three. You’re in for a ride! It’s time for some character growth as Miranda needs to accept a few harsh truths.

Summary:
By that point, Miriam’s career was gaining traction. But she wanted not only to survive off it, but to excel, to move up, to reign supreme. Miriam was talented, but hungry. She was strong, but so very tired of fighting. So she made a decision. Exchanged one name for another, one freedom for another, one life for another. Now, decades later, Nigel chews her ear off about responsibility and cultural change and the right time to come out of the closet. Telling her to give the girl a shot. But Miranda is 54 and has a magazine to run and two lovely daughters to take care of and she is all out of shots.
An exploration of Miranda Priestly’s past, her life’s passions and limitations and how Andrea Sachs might be the key to finally having it all.
A companion piece (of sorts) to A Little Comfort.
It is done, my friends! Finally the first chapter of my followup fic is online. It’s a work of love :) Go and check it out!Â
So the A81 netflix show dropped today, and I know we were all dunking on it anyway, but they have not only made Melody Pendras fully straight, but also made her wife her roommate, and then also made Melody and Samuel romantic interests.Â
If this were an original show, I can see why they did it - have one of the protagonists fall in love with the evil guy, have it be a betrayal, and have her roommate be a supportive force in her life keeping her grounded. But this isn’t an original show - although, in my opinion, it should be with how little it resembles the source material - this is based on a story already, one that has one of the central relationships be two gay women who start off already in a committed relationship and end up getting married afterwards. The show has taken her anchor, the woman she loves, and turned her into her messy roommate, who cheers her on as she kisses the villain. If that doesn’t bother you, or make your stomach turn, then I frankly don’t want to hear from you.
In the original podcast, her connection to and love for Alexa, her girlfriend, is the reason why she does everything she can to survive the Visser building, why she forms a place in The City for the Visser community and builds herself and Alexa a cottage to live in peacefully, and why inevitably they get married. For a character stuck in 1994, this kind of relationship was not only still controversial, but Alexa even experiences homophobia to the point of killing the guy to be with Melody again. Gay people populate all of Archive 81, and its a podcast that shows gay people can be extraordinary, and we will survive through great tragedy. Alexa and Melody loved each other so much they killed for their love, they left behind their homophobic families for love, they built community for love, and they’ve been married for 20+ years. To have Melody lose that anchor and that relationship makes it harder to believe why she would survive through the season (although again, they’ve already changed it beyond recognition from the original).
Melody doesn’t even meet Samuel until the end of Season 1 - she hears about him in passing stories, glimpses of his followers, murmurs through the walls of the cult meetings he holds. Samuel is designed to be a heard but not seen villain, the picture of a condescending academic who uses the people of Visser to reach his ends, uncaring about their fate, whereas Melody actively forms community in the building. The fight in Visser is not two lovers and good VS evil, it is a fight between chaos VS order, poverty VS capital, and the individual VS community.
To take everything building the narrative of season 1, to turn Melody straight, to turn her wife into her roommate, to turn Samuel into a love interest, and to change the entire conflict and reasoning behind the story, is to ultimately destroy the meaning of the show. And frankly, even if they wanted to just fuck the plot into the ground, to make an important gay woman straight just to appeal to netflix’s homophobic values is pitiful and disgusting.Â
I strongly dissuade people from giving it any attention. I wanted to watch the whole thing to see how it turns out, but watching Melody kiss a man actually made my blood boil.
I didn't even know about the Samual part which means that somehow, impossibly, the information from this post has made me hate the show even more. Wow. Just...wow.
When I first heard Archive 81 was being adapted by Netflix, I was appalled! For a multitude of reasons (that I might get into in more detail at a later date) I'm vigorously against podcast adaptions!!! Not only because it's always gonna be more limited than what my imagination can come up with and because so often the audio-format makes up a huge part of the show's character but also, and mostly, because of what apparently happened with Archive 81.
The (fiction/horror/sci-fi/...) podcast movement exists (in huge parts) as an alternative to mainstream media and it's lack of diversity. It's always been weird, always been niche, always been super queer and diverse and everything Netflix and Co. wasn't. So when I heard about the Archive 81 adaption and saw the trailer I immediately suspected that they'd leave out Melody's sexuality/wife. In this sad media-scape of ours it was literally my very first thought. And, big f*cking surprise, that's exactly what happened.
Before it came out I hadn't decided if I was going to watch it (I haven't). Then I read about the straight-washing and immediately decided I wouldn't. I'm not surprised, but really, really f*cking livid! I hate that they took my favourite thing, the one place where I saw proper representation of myself, and killed it's moral/activist roots and accomplishments.
If adapting podcasts now becomes a thing (and someone decides to touch TMA, Juno Steel, Alice isn't dead, Welcome to Nightvale, etc.) I will start the revolution. This'll be my villain origin story.

Lowly assistant (and resident superhero) Kara Danvers has a crush on her boss: the media mogul, CEO and force of nature that is Cat Grant. An intense, entirely unprofessional, totally unrequited crush. Or is it? They’ve been dancing around this thing between them for months now, walking the edge of attraction when one night, an opportunity presents itself. Will they dare to take it? (Spoiler alert: They do. Shenanigans ensue.)
Chapter two is finally up!Â
Featuring panicked, anxious Kara, inscrutable, icy Cat and a whole lot of overthinking on all parts. It’s less smutty than the last one (although not really chaste either) and the setup for a long overdue, messy showdown. So give it a read, forgive the angst and stay tuned - for better times are lying ahead. I swear!Â

I’ve recently started watching Supergirl and am now completely obsessed with the Kara/Cat ship. I just love the dynamic of their relationship! (Also, I might have a teeny tiny crush on the Queen of All Media myself.) There is so much amazing fan fiction for the pairing out there and it inspired me to finally take up my pen (or rather, laptop) again to write something for them as well. It got…a little smutty. But I’m happy with how it turned out. So enjoy :)Â
I’ve also recently gotten into Juno Steel and especially season three makes me feel all the feels. I am head over heels in love with one sexy, tall master thief, I relate so hard to everyone’s favourite, non-binary hot mess of a detective and the crime family feels like my family now.Â
Also, the writing and acting and sound production is downright amazing. So expect some future fangirling.Â
