I loved how Saunders wrote from the perspective of Emily, the person who is in the very middle of it all. Writing from her perspective gave me as a reader a more complex understanding of the situation than if the book had been written from an outsiderâs perspective. The whimsical aspect we know from fairy tales combined with real word struggles was something I hadnât seen done by any other author before. I really enjoyed reading this book as it guided me on one of the most magical adventures I have ever been on. Saundersâ writing style is extremely unique and amazing. I genuinely enjoyed seeing how she phrased every sentence. I also appreciated the pacing of this book, as I was never confused as to what was happening and never bored in the least.
All things considered this book gets a rating of :âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ from me. I loved every second and was glued to every page. Even though I tried my best to give at least a bit of criticism to this book, I just couldnât find anything I didnât like. In my eyes this book is the definition of perfection.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes magic and toy animals. Fantasy plays an extremely important role in the plot of this book so if thatâs not something youâre interested in then I would recommend you stay far away from this book :)
