I wasn’t born in the city like you think, okay? That’s where it all begins. I was kidnapped after someone I love attacked me. When the hoods came to pick me up I didn’t fight back because I had nothing to stay alive for.

I didn’t see just any two kids. I saw me and her, before I was kidnapped, before she took everything away from me and left me for dead. And I was sick. So I took the wheel and I was going to end her and me before we even started.

I didn’t know they were real, okay? They were so close, so like me and her that I was sure I imagined it, that I’d run over the spot and it would be dust, and I’d finally stop dreaming that she’d come back to take me away.

It doesn’t matter now. There’s the truth, but it doesn’t change anything. The van crashed, the bomb dropped, and now I’ve lost the only family I thought I’d ever have.
