Yes I believe Johnny Depp.
I believe him when he said he wanted to burn and rape his girlfriend in 2013 to a private text message to Paul Bettany, who agreed with him.
I believe him when he said he wanted to rape Molly in 2017 to a private text message to his assistant.
I believe him when he said he called women "slippery whores" and "fish markets."
I believe him when he said he headbutted Amber in 2016 in a private recording.
I believe him when he begged his girlfriend to write him notes that say "please don't bring out the monster today, please don't hurt me today"
I believe him when he said that "pussy" is his for the taking and if he wants it, he gets it.
I believe him when he told Amber to "not pretend like you have any authority over me" while he screamed at her for daring to hold him to the same standard he holds her to (not secretly record conversations without permission from the other partner).
I believe him when he asked Debbie Lloyd "to find something good to say" because "ultimately he was the client" in 2016.
I believe him when he admits in that same text message that he got Dr. Kipper, who lost his medical license due to overmedicating his patients, to overmedicate Amber to "keep her under control" and "not to kick drugs."
I believe him when he said that he ruin his ex wife, giving her "total global humiliation" in 2016, the day that they signed the NDA and divorce settlement in a private text message to his manager.
ultraviolence
It’s not evidence of abuse that JD was not there for the final verdict.
It does show, in my opinion, a great amount of disrespect and along with how he conducted himself a continuation of a certain amount of, let’s say, glibness.
But again, it’s not evidence of abuse. It’s not.
That being said -
Can you imagine if Amber Heard had done the same fucking thing?
No seriously, can you even fucking imagine how people would’ve responded if she didn’t appear in court for the final verdict, for any reason at all? Any reason? Let alone to make a surprise guest appearance for a concert in another country?
We would still be getting 15-20 articles a day about how that shows who she really is. Proof that’s she’s every horrible thing possible. Or what true gentlemen JD was to respect the jury, judge, and everyone else in the court room, and even the state of Virginia by attending, unlike the she-devil.
My head explodes thinking about how social media would’ve responded.
It’s not even JUST that people shrug it off completely or maybe (maybe) lightly criticized him that has made me so angry; it’s because if it had been her – many of those same people would’ve have spewed nonstop vitriol about her.
I likely would’ve strongly criticized her myself; because that choice shows a lack of respect.
I’m just so fucking furious at how the blatant bias continues; how so many people act like that it shouldn’t be criticized one bit because well it was a previous engagement, and he couldn’t possibly get out of it, there was no chance at all, it just couldn’t be done.

Jennifer Freyd is an expert in the psychology of sexual violence. In the ‘90s, she coined the term DARVO, an acronym that describes a typical response from people accused of abuse. It stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender.
Freyd offered her analysis of Depp v. Heard prior to the verdict:
There are court cases all the time like this without the fame, and it’s not in the news. There are many times we, as outside observers, cannot know what happened in the past. We just don’t have enough information to know. But we can see what’s happening right in front of us.
The most insidious part is this role reversal, where the person being held accountable or accused takes the victim’s stance and accuses the person who has raised the allegations.
Often, people say, “Why don’t you tell somebody?” Or, “Why didn’t she tell somebody?” The truth is that telling can lead to terrible things.
The only time in which telling is valuable is when there is a good response to that telling, and we live in a society where good responses are less likely than bad responses.
That vilification is almost certainly really harmful to people’s immediate feelings but also to their willingness to talk about their own experiences. Why would somebody, when they watch what happens to someone who brings this sort of difficult material up, and they see that person get treated so terribly, why would they put themselves in that position?
A negative social response can be deeply damaging. It can be more predictive of the long-term well-being of, say, a rape survivor than details of the rape itself. It’s how people respond.
It may be easier to identify with one or the other based on what you’ve experienced in the world, and the danger there is that you might miss the truth of the other person because it’s not as easy to identify with them.
For instance, it’s easier to imagine being falsely accused of something than to imagine actually being the perpetrator of the allegations.
Freyd also commented after the verdict:
What we have witnessed in the US over this case has been an overwhelming case for Depp on social media. It is like an anti-Heard campaign and there has been a lot of Darvo. […] Others who wish to make claims will see what has happened in this case, and see what has happened to Heard, and think twice. Many will be afraid to talk.
you know what official the boys twitter account, i think i will
sorry for looking like i just cried for an hour. it’s just that i cried for an hour
"Be on the right side of history" is a joke when most of y'all aren't even on the right side of a domestic violence case
maybe this silly little coffee drink will equip me to face the unrelenting and unendurable horror of existence
