I saw animals who didn’t want to work being withheld food. Lots of mornings upon arrival, we would find Keiko pushing his rostrum against the wall and crying. He even got a mark from how hard he was pressing against the wall and door.”

August 2011 2 orcas were stranded on a sand bar(Because the tide went out and they were caught in shallow waters on the bar, probably hunting seals that were in and around the sand bar) south of Prince Rupert. Doug and Debbie Davis from Prince Rupert Adventure Tours were called to assist in bringing officers and whale scientists from DFO to monitor the orcas until the tide went up so the orcas could swim away. Debbie did her part and had a comforting chat with one of them. The 2 orcas were finally able to swim away as the tide rised.
Those vocalizations are the most heartbreaking thing i’ve heard coming from an orca. But apparently they got back into the water, thank God.
If you haven't already, please watch these two documentaries The Cove and Blackfish.

You give this corporation your money, you’re the one paying for the abuse to continue.

BLACKFISH (2013)
"Never capture what you can’t control."
THESE ARE HABITATS:
AND THESE ARE PRISONS:
Orcas are one of the world’s most intelligent animals. They are highly complex, built for travelling long distances, they have cultures and languages, and yet somehow humans think it’s okay to keep them in such disgusting conditions? There is no educational value in abusing animals. THE SHOW MUST NOT GO ON. DON’T BUY A TICKET!
The Blackfish Bill is to be revisited this year. If enacted, it will:
Ban holding orcas in captivity for performance or entertainment purposes in California;
End captive breeding programs and the import/export of orcas and their genetic material into/out of the state;
Allow for public…

Performance art: get a kiddie pool and one of those blow up orca’s and cover yourself in fake blood and stand across the street from sea world who wants to Join me
I was on night watch when Nootka had a stillborn. The supervisors determined that they had to take the baby immediately. I was told it was for Nootka’s health and safety. Nootka was in the back pool, which is long and rectangular. They dropped a net the width and depth of the pool, and I saw her push the baby over the top of the net after carrying it around for a while. As she pushed the baby around, they were trying to get it from her—not just one guy, a swarm. I asked, “Please, can’t she just have a minute?” She was vocalizing and distressed. There was a shallows on the perimeter of the pool. Most of the guys were in the shallows, using nets and poles to get the calf close enough so they could grab it. I remember Nootka did get the calf back a few times, and in the end it was a very fast heave to get it out of the pool. Nootka was panicked. It was gut-wrenching to watch. She about killed a couple of staff. She was mad. But they took the calf, and she did everything she could to get it back. There was no honor or care. There was nothing. They just pulled the calf and threw it in the back of a truck. And they put Nootka in the med pool [a small side pool with a floor that can be raised], and that’s where she stayed the entire night. I’ll never forget it. She cried and cried for her calf.
