“..No. Lemme just look it up on Youtube.”

“I’ve actually never heard of that song nor the band. I suppose I should give it a listen then?”

“Yes, duh. You’re really missing out.”

She hummed softly before shaking her head. “—Haven’t heard of it yet. Never even heard of Hitchhiker before. Oops.”

The look on Chaewon’s facial features must’ve said enough. “Wow, I really can’t believe it. You should look it up right now.”

lily couldn’t wait for her best friend to come over. she’d been looking forward to this all day, she couldn’t even sleep the night before. chaewon was one of her closest friends, and being separated for three years didn’t change that. she loved chae like a sister and couldn’t hold in her excitement to see her again. earlier that day she went to the store and bought all the junkfood in sight, she also got drinks and rented some dvds. when she came back home she put all the pillows and blankets in the living room. hearing a knock on the door made lily jump, she didn’t realize how much time had passed. she ran to the bathroom to check her makeup, and laughed hearing her friend’s words. she skipped over to the door with a wide grin and took a deep breath in before turning the knob, “chaebae!!!!!!!” she quickly hugged the other girl and tugged her inside, “i missed you so much! how’ve you been?”  

a little ‘oompf!’ got squeezed out of chaewon’s body, being hugged so tight out of nowhere really did surprise her. the realisation was a little slow, but within a few second she found her arms around the other, returning the tight bear hug. it just felt safe to be around lily. comforting to say the least, but above all it felt familiar and trusting. she couldn’t help but let the smile creep on her face, letting her eyes crinkle out of happiness. “i miss you too! i’ve been swell, i’m working in an ice cream parlour at the moment, and believe me when i say you’ll get sick of ice cream in a short time. i hate it, i just want to enjoy ice cream but i can’t anymore,” she chuckled to herself. “but how have you been? it’s been like, what, three years? more? too long, that’s for sure.”

“How d—how dare you compare me to Michelle. I’d at least be Kelly. Come on. Come on.”

“I guess we’ll have to see about that. I don’t know.. Something about you just gives me these.. Michelle vibes.”

“Two words. I’m in! Sign me the hell up, I can put Beyonce to shame.”

“Another two words. Challenge accepted. Please, I bet you’re more like Michelle, I’m obviously Beyoncé.”

Maybe, if I get drunk enough I’ll do it.

“That sounds like a great deal, although I might apologise in advance for your eardrums. I tend to go a little overboard with alcohol in my system.”

“Oh… I’m not much of a singer but I guess I could come and hum along.”

“What! Nooo, you’re not just gonna hum along, we’re gonna sing classics together! Like Grease or Celine Dion. I promise it’ll be fun.”
