Not sure, he keeps his living situation pretty private. Probably he tried to move out and live on his own at some point. Maybe his family moved somewhere else in California and then he tried to move somewhere in Havertown.

Gently though I also think it’s kind of crossing a line to try and figure out what each address comes from (yes even though they’re publicly available), I doubt you have bad intentions but we need to remember the repercussions and collateral damage (his family for example) that happens when people start digging into stuff like this.

I can tell you from my own professional experience that 14 year olds, who make up a good chunk of his fanbase, are excellent at believing whatever they want to believe regardless of reality. As for the other grown ass men defending him, it’s because they’re no different from him, so they see nothing wrong with his actions.

I don't even dislike him for this situation alone. Basically, for all the bs that he's pulled prior and during the YanSim development. Anyway... Shitty people are let off the hook way often, and the folks who get wrongly canceled for genuinely petty reasons have that stuck to them for the rest of their life on the internet. I think people are kind of uncancelable depending on the audience they have in the first place. If you’re a degenerate from the start, you’re going to cultivate a fanbase who either doesn’t know any better or *does* know better and just doesn’t care. (See Alex’s following of 14-year-olds and nasty grown men. One population notoriously thinks they know better about just about everything when they do not, and the other knows right from wrong and chooses to be wrong.)

It’s confusing to witness when you try to be a decent person and you don’t have a completely decimated sense of morality. Keep in mind, it’s easy to act like a shitty person, and it generally takes effort to make good choices, instead. Think of the most average human being that you can. Think of how much that person cares about other people. Now remember that half of all people give less of a shit about others than that.

There’s lots of people who do more good than bad out there, but I think that some people believe that there are far fewer shitty people out there than there really are.

And I’m gonna come out and say it: Most people don’t care about what Alex actually did and who it affected. His cancellation is fodder. You see this when people get excited over someone being canceled because they had a petty dislike for them. e.g. “I’m so glad it turned out he’s a groomer and he’s canceled now. His music was so annoying!”

At this point, I think that some of the people involved in exposing him are aware of how much that attitude pays. Most people either don’t care or don’t think about the fact that releasing those videos/audios publicly soiled potential evidence for the authorities and outed a survivor publicly who did not want to be outed. They don’t care that Ally allowed the survivor to continue speaking with Alex to “collect evidence” for a YouTube video. Because at the end of the day, they got their content fix.

They couldn’t wait to cover it after a case had been processed because they just had to take advantage of being the only ones who knew about it. I can believe that the adults in that situation thought they were doing the right thing, but you can’t tell me that they didn’t happily benefit from it, either.

TL;DR He was “let off the hook” because this was all grossly mishandled and most of his fanbase didn’t care anyway.

People saying “wow this is such a good apology” have to either be kids who have only seen colleen ballinger’s apology or incredibly sheltered adults. an apology alone isn’t good enough. he’s ruined his chance to apologize already by continuing to double down and lie, now it’s obvious he’s only saying sorry because he was backed into a corner. and even then, he’s denying and glossing over huge chunks of the story where he can.

and in any case, his apology needs to be coupled with him leaving the internet entirely and turning himself in if it’s going to be worth anything at all. but he’s skirted around the outright illegal things that he’s done, anyway.

maybe so, that’s why I say I’m not entirely sure…it seems to be what she’s trying to portray, in the least. She was dming people on reddit saying she’s about to do something and to wait for it leading up to this.
