He realized the child had seen him and he had no way to get away. Well he could try but when your Niece had the perk of speed as her semblance, you were going no where fast. 

“Ruby.” So instead he would have to make due with this situation. One far more complicated than what they had started out on in their own world. “You’re... here.” It opened the door to several question. 

How long has she been here? How much did she know of this place? Did she know any other companions being here?

Yang doesn’t know what to think of this, it certainly hits too close to home, to certain past events, yet she’s still helping around the best she can. It’s not easy, but it’s better than lock herself up and compare the current events to the Grimm invasion. No. No more of that for her. 

And that’s why she’s still here willing to help, even after of going rampage and killing monsters with Ruby for days. It was totally worth it, plus kept her busy. A win-win situation, and this is no different, except…

“What?” her sunglasses are off by the time she see him. “No way… you’re here!” no shit Yang. And he better be ready for one Yang’s trademark spine crushing hugs, because here it comes. “Hold on.” and he’s freed from the hug as she moves to compare their lists. “We are totally paired for this mission.” she’s totally just going to ignore the moping part. Sorry uncle, but as you can see she’s getting back on her feet.

Out of all the things to expecting right now, a death by being split in two was not one of them. While he knew Tai and Woody had been scheming away some when it came to Yang, he hadn’t expected to experience it first hand like this. Robotics at their finest once more, noted, got it. His spine was never to forget this crushing blow in the years to come. Lungs begging him to never put them through such suffering again.

It did good to wash away his normal melancholy if only for a moment. Lips raising in a half smirk as he was lowered to the ground. Her initial thrill greatly outclassed his initial reaction upon finding them to be partnered together.

She felt like an absolute idiot at the moment. Of course the first time she loses her key to the apartment was during a zombie apocalypse where she was most prone to dying. She was scared, yes, but she was more so just annoyed at herself. Now here she was, knocking on people’s doors and running away from zombies after sitting at said doors for a few minutes waiting for someone to answer.

Staring at the zombies at the next door, she wondered for a bit how to get past them. Well, she had never tried hurting them herself.

She promptly knocks them out for a bit by….hitting them with her wand. Well, that was certainly one way to get that done. Now that that’s over with, she knocks on the door a few times. Please be home. 

Relief filled her mind as the door opened, but that was discarded almost immediately at the incredulous look this older man was giving her. “Excuse me, would you let me sleep here for the night?” That definitely wasn’t a weird thing to ask a man this age. Definitely.

Weird was only the beginning of it all. She was far from the kind of company he normally took in with that kind of question. On top of that she was a living, breathing, human (well this was still up for debate), girl. If anything the visitors he was expecting tonight aligned more with people who had been buried in the ground for some time now.

Not that he was about to go and refuse her entry none the less. This wasn’t his place to decide that kind of judgement after all.

“Come and... make yourself at home.”

He was mindful to not add the extra title of ‘Princess’ down as sarcasm wasn’t currently the flavor of the day. Instead did he attempt to make her entrance seem more grand. His body at a half bow as the door opened wide, arm issuing her into the small drinking establishment.

“Ooone.”

    Whether this count off is for the loud bang upon the door to the bar, or the amounts of sips he’s taken from his glass is unknown. Comfortably does he sit in the abandoned establishment contrasting the chaos displayed outside.

“Twooo.”

It seems his last sip was more of a gulp as ice slam against his teeth. The man spluttering and rocking back on the stool in surprise. He would’ve fallen straight off the seat if not for his iron like grip on the railing of the bar. 

“Three?”

Sorrowfully does he look down from his empty glass to the front door. He had gotten used to the poundings every hour but these were happening more rapidly than before. It was when that knock Four, Five, and Six came in quick succession that he raised up to make his way to the entrance in a hurry. The container of his liquid courage practically tossed in exchange for a had on his weapon.

One hand on the hilt hanging off his back, the other on the door knob as he forced it open to be met face to face with a possible enemy.

    Barely a week into his new environment and already did responsibility come knocking. One which set him on edge more than usual. Being out on the front lines was simple. You run in, you kill what is in front of you, and it is a job well done. Whether you happened to be the harbinger of bad luck or not mattered little. It meant a couple more cuts here and there. Nothing too serious.

“Supplies huh...” This on the other hand was a big deal. A very big deal. If he messed this one up it was going to spell disaster for an academy in this world. He’d rather keep is track record to one academy down per life time. (too soon?). At least he was meant to have help. Help which could even out the playing field of--

“Finally decided to stop moping around the place did yah?”
