OK, that was the last response she was expecting from a total stranger - Though she isnât surprised, people tended to think with their nether-regions.
âAlright now youâre starting to sound like Five, cut that creepy crap out and maybe Iâll leave you with only a few missing broken bones.â
âDo you kiss everyoneâs ass with that mouth? No wonder it sounds like youâre talking so much shit.â her sword is still raised up, though she notes the clicking of a mechanism, the blonde has weapons of her own it seemsâŚand a prosthetic arm, similar to her own.
âHow did you lose your arm? Lose it to the last person you tried to put those lines on? Or is this place more shitty and sinister than it smells.â
âYouâre pretty rude but you totally know that, still totally digging it by the way, but anyway...â or fucking around, she just wants to get on this girlâs nerves by now. âI mean, this is the only mouth Iâve got, so yeah! And I call that flirting, by the way.â
And sheâd still have the upper hand if not for that very specific question, she stopped herself from staring down at her arm and glanced at the girlâs instead whilst keeping her cool. Despite her easygoing answers Yang refuses withdrawing her guns, she knows better than that.
âGee, are you in a rush? Pay for dinner before asking sensitive questions. What are you? Heartless?â sheâs trying to stay calm, she really is, but thereâs no ignoring her anger flaring up when her arm is a strangerâs focus. âSeriously though,â her stance shifts, relaxing a little but still on alert just in case. âYou wonât get answers by keeping up with that asshole attitude. Wanna understand your situation? Try making friends. I sure wouldnât mind telling you how things work around here.â
nihilette:
[ @goldilocking !! ]
Of course, it was just her luck that Five was in this City too, sheâd recognize those gross meat bags anywhere as well as that strikingly blonde hair. Had she not suffered enough?
âAlright, you sorry sack of shit ââ her sword is out and pointed straight at the other.
âYou have about 5 seconds to pull an answer out of that mouse shit size brain of yours on what this place is and how long youâve been here.â a brief pause as her working eye finally gets a chance to examine the blondeâs features up closeâŚDifferent coloured eyes and no mark on her forehead.
âWhat the fuck? Youâre not Five. Who the hell are you?â
Yang jumps subtly, not expecting a wild encounter like this on a calm and uneventful Saturday, and after looking left and right (and behind also, just to make sure) the brawler realizes this really is about her. Funny, she doesnât remember doing anything to anger someone in here, but Ember Celica is extended and her shotgun is out, sheâs not one to back out from a fight anyway-- Only that this isnât really about her. How utterly blue balling.
âWho am I?â she sighs, metallic hand resting on her hip. âYour next date if donât kill me, gorgeous.â and she chuckles. âIâm not gonna lie though, I kind of dig the angry ones.â
revoltelle:
Seriously. How did Yang just chug her coffee like that? She had always suspected her to have a sweet tooth like her pure sugar infused younger sister, but perhaps they werenât as similar as Blake perceived - Needless to say sheâs impressed.
Blake lets Yang talk, only taking the occasional sip from her tea whilst both of her hands remain wrapped around the mug - itâs cozy. Her own experience with the City so far has been tame, no matter how many nights she spends out on the off chance sheâll stumble across something that was meant to be kept under wraps, Septaneus is just one tough cookie to crack.
âThereâs never anything wrong with bending a few rules.â a passing comment thrown into the blondeâs mention of being a minor. The Faunus has a freshly placed smirk and she isnât doing much to hide it. âI could see you behind a bar, mixing drinks for whoever walks through the door.âÂ
âLuckily I found the Library pretty easily here - I know, shocker.â where there were a quiet spot and a few books, there was a Blake. The brunette really valued her independence and quiet time, it gave her a chance to gather her bearings and reflectâŚLike meditating for Millenials.
Everything Yang is saying? What a mood. Blake canât help but hum in agreement every now and then and sometimes even nod appreciatively - She always knew the blonde was sharp and perceptive so there was never a doubt in her judgment.
The flicker of doubt that cascades over the brawlerâs face cause Blakeâs ears to flatten down - That sense of paranoiaâŚthe one that even makes you suspect yourself? Sheâs all too familiar with it.
So she sets her cup down, half full, and releases a deep sigh - Almost as if sheâs pre-warning Yang that sheâs about to speak, âI get it, Yang. - I think itâs in our nature to doubt something thatâs just too good to be true. Iâm grateful for the perks but Iâll continue to look into the cons.â
Even this Cafe, though quaint and soft, didnât make her feel 100% at ease.Â
ââŚBut, I think Iâm more comfortable knowing youâre here.â good golly Ms.Belladonna your tea is going to get cold, better neck that like a lukewarm shot. - Maybe itâll ease the serious tone she just laid onto the table.
âIn the meantime, I donât think thereâs anything wrong with taking as much advantage of this place as we can. â Thereâs still so much to see and do.â
Amazing. After the hardships sheâs been through there was a time the brawler thought she wasnât deserving of happiness, she really did, and though knowing that thought is incorrect itâs something thatâs constantly lurking in the back of her mind, surfacing when the slightest inconvenience happened; needless to say this city only added to that. Still, Blake somehow managed to make her smile with that comment, who knew her job would be that obvious and fitting? You wonât hear her complaining given this exchange is the main reason of her gradual relaxing. And thereâs no stressing how thankful sheâs for this actually working out.
And a hearty chuckle follows after the new discovery. Really, Blake? The Library? Talk about being predictable... but this wouldnât be her partner if she had picked something else. Although the thought of Blake working with coffee behind a counter isnât that strange. Hm, thatâs a thought for the future though, for now the air is somewhat serious despite how natural the words coming from Blake felt. The feeling is so mutual that Yang had no reasons to suppress that relieved sigh that escaped, accompanied by a smile.
âGood to know my paranoia is relatable.â she shrugs before her elbows came to rest over the table, hands gently cupped around the mug as the other spoke. âAt least it keeps you sharp, yeah? Wouldnât want to grow comfy somewhere I canât completely trust,â thereâs a pause, a sip, lingering eyes on the brunette, as if she was stalling for time while picking out the best words. In the end being sincere is what her heart urged her to do.
â...Iâm just really glad we met again.â perfect timing to feel her cheeks growing warmer...not! Gotta chug that scalding coffee and make it less obvious. âWith our team assembled my safety will be one less thing to worry about. Youâre all capable, and just like Iâve got everyoneâs back I know youâve all got mine.â
Thereâs no doubt whatsoever laced in her voice, just the truth, and yet it wasnât enough to make that blush fade. Tragic. But at the mention of taking advantage of this place however the brawler clears her throat, her previous embarrassment being overcome by curiosity.
âLike what though?â smooth, Xiao Long, smooth. âYou know, I really wouldnât mind putting my little free time to better use, âcause when Iâm not working or hanging out with Rubes you can bet Iâm sleeping.â
windinghorn:
Sheâs never had much of an appetite, but, somehow, all of the cookies were gone within the hour, along with the cocoa. This is probably one of the better meals that sheâs hadâ after all, back where she used to be, it was iron-filled meal upon iron-filled meal to subvert the possibility of anemia⌠Something soft and sweet like this? It was a luxury, and in much smaller amounts before. The other went out of their way to give her all of this⌠? The woman had just met her! It honestly didnât make any sense, but, a lot of things that she had thought were impossible these days had happened before her eyes⌠The world is full of infinite surprises, and she hopes to god that this one doesnât have a second one following up after it, unkind in nature.Â
( Somehow, she feels like that isnât the case here. )
The next few hours are spent in silence for her, though by no means is it uneventful: Eriâs taken the time to explore every inch of the room, from under the bed to the balcony outside, all the way to the closet. Clothes, crayons, papers, stuffed animals⌠Well, she spent her time hugging her pillow more than anything. These were chosen with care, by⌠who? Yang? Maybe.
     ⌠Sheâs hungry again.
Gosh, her stomach is just raring for more, isnât it? Itâs almost as if itâs more excited to be here than her herself, though Eri can only imagine why. Maybe this was better. Chisaki was nowhere in sight, along with any of the people that worked for him. But Deku⌠Lemillion⌠She hopes that she can see them again soon. They wouldnât want her to be moping around like thisâ no, no, more than anything, they wanted her to feel safe enough to smile. And her neighbor⌠felt safe to her, she thinks mostly to herself, before she takes the door knob.
â AaâŚÂ â She didnât think this far ahead, even if her hands are gripping at the door frame, and she looks into the kitchen. Thereâs a creature along with Yangâ itâs fluffy, and stares at her as she makes her presence known. Eri can only swallow thickly in response. Please, please⌠may this turn out okay. â ⌠itâs good. â She must be referring to the soupâs smell.
Even through an undetermined hiatus, a huntress in training is still a huntress, and though she was focused on preparing the soup her ear easily caught sound of a door creaking open followed by quiet footsteps. Her suspicions were proved right when a pair of fluffy ears turned at the kitchenâs door right in time with the girlâs appearance, and though there was a bit of silence lingering Yang couldnât contain a smile.
âGlad you joined us!â Truth is that Yang has no idea how to care for a child thatâs selectively mute, and yes sheâs caught on that very important deail, but sheâs definitely trying her best to keep things nice and cozy for Eri. âWonât be long though, itâs almost ready, so I hope youâre hungry because I sure am.âÂ
She wasnât joking, and a loud grumble of her stomach reaffirmed the previous statement, but also earned Yang a curious look from Blackie that hopped off of the counter and promptly rubbed against Eriâs legs. A demanding meow urged Yang to make a brief introduction as she fetched clean bowls for them.
âRight, this is my cat Blackie! Sheâs docile, loves a good scratch behind her ears, paper balls and hiding in the shadows.â the soup is served, and the bowls were placed on their shared table. âDo you like cats, Eri?â

True to his nature - despite being the owner of the shop, Garry usually got one of those who lived in the city to run the counter while he âbusiedâ himself with watering the plants on sale: that way, he avoided having to talk to strangers too much and also kept the plants happy and healthy. A mutual happiness: but it was of course, not one that worked all the time. Today the person behind counter had called sick, so Garry had to stand there and sell.
It was then a vivacious stranger walked in, requiring help. âAhâŚw-well, what is it exactly you need help with?â That said, he listened carefully to the otherâs explanation.
âA quiet sort of person - well, it also depends on the type of meaning you wish to convey. You see, different types of flowers have different feelings attached to them: like how yellow roses can stand for both friendship, but also a sadder meaning of âbetrayalâ. You have to be careful to know what you want to mean, firstâŚso what sort of feeling do you want to say?â
A very valid point?
Meaning? Yang shouldâve expected that, but it still brought her train of thought to a sudden halt. What is that she wanted to convey with a bouquet? Itâs- Itâs complicated. The brawler crossed her arms under the chest line, a soft hum escaping her lips as she squinted. Thatâs a very valid point, Sir.
âFriendship?â oh wow, she sure sounded unsure there. An awkward laughter followed suit as she scratched the back of her head. âIâm not making it any easier, huh? Weâre, uh, trying to path things up.â poor man, not only heâs being forced to socialize but now heâs gotta listen to Yangâs personal life, and believe her when she says sheâs trying her best to be vague about it. âLike, something warm but that doesnât scream âhey please Iâm desperate to be your friend againâ thing. Just be cool.â anyone would wondering if Yangâs solely talking to herself by now. And maybe she is.
windinghorn:
This isnât the hospitalâ in fact, it doesnât even feel like Japan at all. Eri doesnât know why sheâs here, or if she even wants to be here, actually. Well, of course she doesnât: who wants to come to and end up in a completely unknown place? Overhaul has done that too many times, completely rearranging her room until none of her usual methods of escape were available anymore. But⌠thatâs certainly a change. This clearly wasnât Chisakiâs work. This room has a door. And windows.
     And another person.
Whâ who is that? A metal arm⌠(donât hit her, please), but a warm smile⌠And were those sweets? The smell doesnât take long to reach Eri, and her eyes can only widen at the welcoming nature of the confections, looking to her companion for answers. Why would the other do this? Clearly they werenât part of the hospital staff that she had come to know. Her hands are still clenched into tiny fists long after the other leaves, and sheâs left to stare at the offering provided to her. How long is she willing to let this go on? Until her stomach grumbles, apparently.Â
With the general silence of the apartment suite, Yang can probably hear the girl move the plate of cookies closer, and hear the soft clink of the mug being put back down on the nightstand. Itâs good⌠just a bit hot. Sheâll have to wait for a bit and try the cookies insteaâ oh, oh, thatâs nice and sweetâŚ
And she does, in fact, hear the low shuffling, a shy way to remind others that sheâs alive, but so quiet that the blonde wonders if she had scared the child somehow. Well, she did everything she could for now, and all that was left was waiting. She turns the tv on, lowering the volume to offer as much quiet as the other may need, channel surfing and settling for some random movie that was most likely about to end.
Some pages were read, messages got replied, and now Yang scrolled through her social media as she waited, and if it werenât for Blackie, her shadow cat, standing outside her roommateâs door, she would be catching some zs right now without doubt.
âHey, donât even think about it,â you can feel a smile on her voice as she picks the cat up, soft steps putting distance between them and the door. Lowly, she continues, setting the cat on the couch. âLet her be, okay? You got used to have this place just for us but now we have a roommate. Respect her.â a soft meow made its presence, as if acknowledging what Yang had said. And maybe thatâs exactly what it meant considering how she decided napping on Yangâs lap.
Afternoon soon became evening, a nap here and there, itâs about dinner time and that door remained closed. God, she really doesnât want to push the otherâs boundaries, but those cookies and hot cocoa canât be enough for a growing child. Blackie is right at her side the moment soft knocks announce Yangâs presence behind the door.
âIs it okay to come in?â after getting no reply, she spoke again. âI think Iâll make chicken soup for dinner, do you like it?â and more silence. Damn, who hurt you? âIâll be in the kitchen if you need me, I could teach you how to make it but if you donât wanna come itâs cool. Iâll leave it by your door when itâs ready.â she hoped the other would come out, but someone so jumpy, who seemed to go through a lot, she shouldnât expect much... And quiet steps followed behind Yang as she headed to the kitchen.
@windinghorn
The black letters printed on the paperâs surface notified her of a new roommate. Folding the paper and tucking it away on her pocket, Yang started a mental list for things she would grab at the grocery store after work. Hey, gotta make the newcomer welcomed, right? Thereâs no denying that sheâs looking forward to meeting this new person, but she was surprised to find a small girl, after much searching through the place they would share from now on.Â
And she looks jumpy, almost scared of the brawlerâs presence, and it makes her confused for while until an idea crosses her mind. Leaving to give the poor girl some space, Yang only comes back with hot cocoa and cookies in hands. She didnât got to the grocery store for nothing.
âIâll just leave this here. I hope you like cookies.â she says, a warm smile on her lips as she lowered the contents onto the bedroomâs nightstand. âMy nameâs Yang and Iâm your roommate. Once you feel like coming out Iâll be in the living room, okay?â no pushing or pressuring, and just like that she turns to give the girl the space she needs once again.
   â...â
   âNice.â
revoltelle:
Itâs relaxing. Blake feels like she can finally breathe for the first time in a while, she canât help the look of relief and genuine gratitude that spreads across her face.
If Yang is anxious, sheâs doing an amazing job at disguising it, being cheery with an edge was what the blonde did best - And after their last meeting being quiteâŚexplosive (not literally thankfully) this serene setting was definitely the polar opposite and Blake couldnât ask for anything else.
â Right, right. Of course, this isnât exactly Yangâs ideal place to hang out, but whether she had a strawberry sunrise or a hot cocoa in her hand, she looked good. Not that the brunette would say that out loud, just yet. She canât help but thoroughly relate to the blondeâs âescape attemptsâ nodding along and a short spout of soft laughter follows.
âMe and you both â This place really is locked up tight.â
âBut it isnât a bad thing, I suppose. Weâre all here together at the very least, me, you, Ruby and Weiss.â at the mention of her teammatesâ names Blake seems to relax more into her chair, they really are her comfort zone at this point - Maybe sheâll invite them along next time.
But this time, she wants to be selfish and enjoy her time with her partner.
The waitress comes over, sheâs slightly slouched and you can tell this place has very casual vibes - Thank Goodness. Blake gives another glance at the menu before closing it up, âIâll have a milk tea, with sugar thanks. And a black coffee for my friend, nothing else to it.â and with that, the menus are handed back over and she returns all of her attention to Yang; the only reason sheâs here in the first place.
âNext time we hang out you should pick a good bar - Itâd be nice to get a better feel for this City since weâre probably going to spend a while here -â a pause. She was already making future plans? Donât get too hasty Blake. âOnly if youâre down for that though.â
And then, a swift subject change, she doesnât want to take up the whole conversation butâŚsheâs a creature of curiosity and itâs been too long since theyâve justâŚbeen like this, you know?
âSo uh. Howâre you finding it here so far? Itâs pretty different from Remnant.â
This is no surprise for Yang. But knowing Blake had tried her hand at escaping left a bitter taste in her mouth with the simple association of Blake and running away, she canât deny this is only but common sense â they shouldnât be here to start with, but she presses her lips into a thin line, lowly clearing her throat in a cheap attempt to drive that taste away. It worked.
Once her teammates were brought up she canât help but frown a little, god, did she had the time to think about them and this situation... But simply, it is very conflicting. While Yang appreciates knowing their whereabouts instead of staying in the dark she would rather for them to go back if given the chance. But then again, Remnant isnât exactly what youâd call home after Beaconâs fall, and this place isnât half bad ( at least Blake and Weiss didnât go through the odd zombie experience ) so like, 9 out of 10 maybe? This thought brings her expression to a blank state, purple hues shifting to the waitress with little interest as Blake did the talking.
âSure, I guess. I work at bar on weekends but itâs not a nice one, so... I gotcha covered though, I know a couple bars thatâd suit us both.â besides whatâs the fun in hanging out at your workplace on a day off? No, thank you. âTo make a long story short Iâm a minor in here, so I shouldnât be working as a bartender. Otherwise you can bet Iâd work at nicer place.â she gives a nonchalant shrug, metallic fingers lacing with warm ones behind her head before continuing. âNot my fault I know how to mix drinks, yâknow?â a girl needs money.
This feels nice, almost natural, and Yang appreciates the casualty Blakeâs offering because itâs exactly what they need right now. And while she acknowledges the lingering tension between them, she knows how important this is in order to fix their friendship and move on, or more like start over...Itâs complicated, alright? Easier said than done. But everythingâs fine and dandy up until now, and with their beverages being delivered this fast it left no space for any awkward silence to settle.
And then thereâs that question.
âItâs pretty similar to Atlas.â Yang knows thatâs now what the faunus meant but itâs still worth mentioning. But the more important question is: how does she drink from her coffee like that without batting an eye? No sugar, no milk... A mystery. âI think you can relate when I say Iâd rather be back home. I was busy,â looking for Raven so she could find Ruby. âand Iâm sure you had your own thing going on as well. This place i pretty frustrating.â her gaze fell to the coffee.Â
âAnd while Iâm glad everyoneâs safe I canât help but wonder if this place has any ulterior reason for kidnapping us together.â if thatâs the case then Yang would rather not get too cozy. She took another sip before looking back at Blake. âHah, I sound really paranoid, right? Iâm probably just overthinking, but itâs weird when you think that theyâd give you a nice place to stay, food, money and the company of your friends.â friends, hopefully.

     â Quit laughing! â
â It was a scary movie, okay?! This is why I donât like the water! â Ruby, youâre starting to sound like Neptune. Also, your marshmallow is on fire. â Can you imagine if you were having a nice vacation by a lake and suddenly animals just start eating you?! Itâs terrifying! â Okay, well, if you wanna shake it that much, itâs gonna end up flyingâ yeah, it landed in the grass. The grass is now smoldering. Someone put that out, please? ⌠Please?
( weiss > blake > yang > ruby )
Weiss absolutely would not quit laughing, snickering at Rubyâs distress.
âAs a Huntress, thatâs what scares you? You carry a scythe.â She watched Ruby wave around her fiery marshmallow, half-disinterested and half-concerned. âThe entire premise of the movie is laughable, and the fact that it scared you even more so. Now can you stop waving that thing around, youâre going toââ
Too late. It was on the ground, smoldering. Weiss crushed the ashy goo beneath her heel, making a face as it stuck.
âHonestly Ruby, for someone whose sister is the one with a fire semblance, you have a terrible habit of starting fires. At least Blake knows how to properly eat a marshmallow.â She pointedly did not mention how Yang was eating hers.
@revoltelleâ
Blake was promised free drinks and good company, and as always, her Team provided. As stoic as ever she canât help but release a dry chuckle at Weissâ and Rubyâs typical banter, taking more of a wallflower approach in this situation and sitting back and relaxing -Â âDonât worry, Iâll look into beaver weak points when weâre finished up.â
So she takes a sip of her instant coffee, hand warming up around the styrofoam cup, with her free one she gives Weiss a thumbs up âYou should start focusing on your own marshmellow Weiss - wouldnât want to waste a perfectly good campfire snack.â
And yes, her phone is out, all ready to record whatever escapade Yang has thrown herself into now - All Blake knows is sheâs not going to be the one cleaning up this mess.
> @goldilockingâ
While a certain little sister freaked out over that masterpiece, someone re-purposed this colossal waste of time with a sweet nap. Hey, itâs not her fault it was super boring! And also an insult to the thriller category. But now that theyâre out and with more interesting things happening Yang couldnât be livelier.
One chaos here, another there. Yangâs busy fitting marshmallows in her mouth, and is probably at 30 pieces by now thanks to Blakeâs support.
Hey now, cut Rubes some slack, maybe have a marshmallow. âY'know, youâre not yourself when youâre hungry.â ... and yes, sheâs fitting one in Weissâ mouth, but not before giving the cameraman a thumbs up. You can thank her later, Rubes. But for now welcome to jackass, Schnussy!

âHey, you. Yea you, behind the counter! I need a little help here,â is that a wallflower she spots? Hah, sheâd laugh at her pun right now if not for all the flowers sheâs trying to pick from.
âI know squat about flowers. But what sort of arrangement would you get for someone whoâs sort of super introverted? Her favorite color is black, but I donât think thatâs like...a doable option for a bouquet? Purple, on the other hand...â
faithandvirtue:
2B follows Yang to the seats, when sheâs directed to them, and sits still; her arm is easily manipulated, and 2B puts up no fight over it. Sheâs largely motionless while Yang reads, other than the slight bobbing of the Pod as it remains floating a set distance from the back of her head, an obedient companion.Â
Though Yang looks at it, it doesnât quite respond to her, as it has nothing to say - as long as 2B takes care of her own affairs, that is.
âYes,â she assents softly, watching as the other woman considers the book in front of her and what she knew about repairing androids and other synthetic, mechanical life forms. She has no interest in trying to speed this up; she would rather, of course, be most assured that this will work for her and her arm will function as it was meant to.
Besides - Yang had, thus far, been kind; 2B saw no reason to repay it with rudeness.
âAnd yes, Iâm sure. Iâll be without an arm, either way, if something goes wrong or if I donât do this.â Itâs the kind of ruthless logic that got her this far. Thereâs a pause, though.
âBut Iâm sure itâll be fine.â
It is, no matter how sad an attempt, an attempt at reassurance.
The huntress will just take that as a solid yes. She goes back on some marked pages, reviewing some important information, and while at it she canât help it but both admire and envy the otherâs seemingly calm composure. One would assume this behavior is due to her synthetic origin, and she would as well if she hadnât met with an android before, which wasnât like this at all when compared. How interesting.
The procedure is slow and very time-consuming, Yang had no intentions of speeding this up as doing so could result in a less than desirable outcome, so she takes her time, pausing every now and then to confirm her steps. Sheâs ultimately focused in making this perfect.Â
Itâs dark outside by the time she finally links the arm to where it belongs, and her eyes trails up the otherâs face with an expectant look. Â
âI guess this should be alright,â she gently holds onto 2Bâs elbow whilst metallic fingers laced around the respect wrist, coaxing the arm to move before finally letting go. âTry. Let me know if anything feels odd, okay?â

Blake wasnât usually one to keep her phone with her 24/7, she liked the solitude and not having the stress of constant buzzing - But latelyâŚlately it might as well have just been glued onto her hand all for one particular, but favorable, blonde.
And when it finally buzzes and the notification from Yang highlights her screen, it takes all her energy to open it up - It could be anything, after all.
FROM: blake belladonna
TO: yang xiao long
[txt] sounds good. iâll meet you thereÂ
Of course, it was an almost instant reply, she didnât have a second to spare after all especially if she was going to hunt down this place she had never heard of and the brunette didnât want to be too late to their first hang out in a long time - So sheâs quick to grab what she needs and throw on some presentable clothes - not the sweatpants she had been living in the past few weeks.
Luckily for her, Yang is so easy to spot in a crowd, just like her sister she exfoliates a vibrant aura that Blake can spot a mile awayâŚAnd she does. Spotting the golden locks and of course, the bold bike parked outside.
Sheâs quick to pick up the pace, the heels of her boot clicking against concrete at her arrival being signaled by the bell that chimes when you open the door to these places - Amber locks onto lilac and she canât help but do the awkward wave, you know the small one that people throw into social convention when theyâre too far away to start a conversation yet? Yeah, that one.
âI didnât take you as a Cafe person, not that Iâm complaining, just curious.â she pulls the chair opposite Yang out and takes a seat, one leg crosses over the other and sheâs in her element âWhat do you usually get from here? It can be my treat.â Blake is already scanning the menu like the veteran Cafe visitor she is.
Yang can understand why her teammate likes this place. Itâs quiet, perfect for reading a book, but saying that this is the first time sheâs thought about or made this link she would be lying. Blake had been a constant in Yangâs mind for a long time, being constantly reminded of her even by the littlest details, like books and tea.
Her gaze fell to the screen, revisiting the text sheâs gotten a while ago and remembering him instantly the other replied. At least itâs confirmed the anxiety is mutual. She tucks the phone away to do her overthinking without a bright screen on her face, and knowing Blake it wonât take her long to be here.
She was right.
The awkwardness within that wave didnât go unnoticed, something very Blake-y, and it didnât fail in making her lips turn upward in a brief smile as she waved back. This is an undoubtedly tense situation for both of them, and the way Blake is trying her best to make it easier for Yang...also didnât go unnoticed.
This... Their situation. Itâs far from being solved, but now that she understand Blakeâs side thereâs no point in holding onto a grudge she was fond off. After all sheâs never been one to hold grudges that werenât for her mother. This can work out, right? They can be friends again...
âThatâs âcause Iâm not.â she says, and a lighthearted chuckle follows. âI found this place in one of my many escaping attempts, but as you can see itâs useless. This place feels like a growing maze.â Yang rests an ankle over the knee before leaning back against her chair, arms claiming its resting place before continuing. âYeah, Iâm more of a bar gal. But I do know that you like Cafes, so...â oh, that- that wasnât subtle at all. Crap. Wait she offered to pay, is that alright? Does she even has a job? âI usually go for coffee. Black, no sugar.â
âThis is nice⌠Reminds me of home.â
